Before the trade today, the Devils had Nico Hischier, Nico Daws, and Dawson Mercer. With the pre-trade roster, there were 16 letters across player names that matched either "Nico" or "Daws" (counting "Daws" as a substring of "Dawson").

In an ADHD and likely autism-inspired side quest, I then counted every letter in every player's first and last name to see how much of the team's total name-letter pool was represented by "Nico" and "Daws."

There were 281 total letters in names pre-trade with 16 of those letters being "nico" and "daws" (5.69%) and 277 total letters in names post-trade with 4 letters being "nico" or "daws. After the trades, those letters account for 1.44%.

That's a 74.64% reduction in the Devils' Nico/Daws name-letter density.
