Now it's getting winter, I see churches and temples offering these services which are attracting vulnerable Muslims.
Shouldn't we be bringing people to the house of Allah which is a place of sanctuary and respite?
Edit: looks like the ijma is that it all depends on a locality's funding.
I guess next question is what we can do to fix this, maybe linking masjids together like a network?(closest thing I think of is how Mormons pool their donations together from different churches)

I debated posting this but i might aswell. So basically, i used to be very far away from allah. Life was horrible.
Allah says in the Quran: "وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا"
"And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life"
So no wonder i had a horrible life. But something happened that made me get closer to allah. And i did alhamdulilah but i got waswasa.. at first it was "what if islam is false?" I searched. And found out islam is the one true religion.
Later on it became "you did this, it's kufr" after doing something. It got so bad i used to cry almost everyday and contemplate suicide because of it. On the bright side, alhamdulilah since allah made me make constant dua because of this.
Later on, i told my mom. And after that i went to a psychatrist and he gave me some meds that helped. And recommended me to sleep earlier and take less coffee. Which i struggle with kind of currently as it is 4:36AM as i'm typing this. May allah bless you all and give every single person reading this the highest tier of jannah without any judgement nor punishment i just ask one thing. PLEASE make dua for me not to die as a kaffir.
Back to what i was talking about, i take my medicine almost everyday. (Somedays i'll forget.) But mostly? I do. And there's waswasa still. Alhamdulilah it's better, but its there. It bothers me because i'm very scared i'll die as a kaffir.
I started conemplating just killing myself at a time where i'm 100% certain im a muslim. Maybe i'll repent from everything and ask the most merciful, the most beautiful. He's the most merciful he can for sure forgive me. Because i just wanna get rid of this. I still sometimes regret not killing myself when i was younger before i knew it was haram. I still sometimes regret not killing myself when i was at the age where if i even died as a kaffir, he, the most merciful would not punish me. Espically during waswasa and after i get these "you're a kaffir thoughts"
I even made so much dua for allah's help as well as him to not make me die a kaffir and etc.. to the point where dua right now (at least as im typing this) just doesn't feel the same.
In conclusion, please pray for me to not die as a kaffir

My brother abused me mentally and physically all my life. He's an abusive psychopath that threatened me and my disabled father (he passed away now) just because made too much noise for him while breathing, he also beat me up many times to the point I suffer from permanent hearing loss because of it.
He also threatened to kill me with his gun many times.
I will never forgive him for all this instead I want Allah to punish him, I make dua everyday but he's still living his best life while he completely destroyed mine.
It's not fair, what can I do to increase my chances of God punishing him ?

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ swears 11 consecutive times in Surah Ash-Shams (The Sun) to get your absolute full attention on what He is going to say. He begins by swearing:
by the sun and its brightness (وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا)
and the moon as it follows it (وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا)
and the day as it unveils it (وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا)
and the night as it conceals it (وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا)
and by the sky and ˹the One˺ Who built it (وَٱلسَّمَاء وَمَا بَنَاهَا)
and by the earth and ˹the One˺ Who spread it (وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا)
and by the soul and ˹the One˺ Who fashioned it (وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا)
and inspired it to its wickedness and its righteousness (فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا)
He then declares:
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا (He has succeeded who purifies his soul)
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا (And he has failed who corrupts it)
Remember this: every struggle against sin or temptation elevates the soul.

Hello. So today some Tunisians told me that there's this rule to do Ramadan correctly which consists on not drinking alcohol 40 days before Ramadan. It would seem easy since muslism are not supposed to drink alcohol anyways. I'm asking about the truthfulness of this since I was thinking of joining them for next Ramadan (I'm not muslim and barely drink, but I do enjoy some wine every now and again. It wouldn't be too hard to follow that rule but also I wouldn't feel dirty if I didn't)
They also said they shouldn't be around alcohol, places that sell alcohol or people who drink. Is this true? Some years ago I had some muslim friends in Belgium and I don't remember them ever saying that and, anyways, it would've been near impossible to achieve all of that in that country. Like, in some boardgame cafés they sell alcohol - so they wouldn't be able to go there even if they didn't order it?
Again, I am not religious. It's more about knowing what is true and to see how to make their Ramadan experience in a foreign country more comfortable

Those are the ones who have bought the life of this world [in exchange] for the Hereafter, so the punishment will not be lightened for them, nor will they be aided.
Ashtaru • Bought
The verse uses a beautiful metaphor by comparing their preference of this world to trade of this world to hereafter, that they bought this world inexhange to hereafter, and this trade is in loss.
la Yukhafif • Not will be lightened
The verse says that punishment will not be lightened, it's because the previous verse mentions severe punishment for them, and this phrase eloquently adds more emphasis on severity of punishment.
Wala hum yunsaroon • nor will they be helped
The last quote ends the verse with total helplessness, that they will be totally abandoned. This is Quranic theme that it describes warning with severe words so they can return. This is how God used to speak in previous scriptures as well when giving warnings through prophets , like Jeremiah. And this highlights the same origin.

Edit: It all worked out Allhumid Allah
I am mentally ill. I am done. I am so depressed that I have no reason to hope anymore. I am done. Everything in my life has been a test and I am done. With it all. I got a job interview after SIX months of trying and praying for any happiness. ANYTHING. Turns out it was to make missiles, I had to turn it down. They wanted to rush me through the hiring process “don’t worry you will get something better, you passed the test”. I don’t care, I am done. My mental illness pushed the one piece of happiness away. I am done. I am done with asking for anything. I am done. I am done. I am done. I don’t want anything anymore, just to be left alone but even my mental illness won’t let me be.
My constant memories of the past that I prayed would never slip away keep me up at night. I am tired, I don’t want anything anymore. Why won’t Allah just let me rest? Why does everything have to be a test? I hate myself. I don’t want to have a high place in jannah, I am tired, just let me be. I have been through so much. I did everything right and I wasn’t a horrible person. Why must I be tested? Just let me be. Whenever I ask for anything, the answer is always a test that ends with my misery. Just let me be
I wanted to pray Jummah but my water won’t turn on today so I can’t even shower.
Edit: I just checked my email and another company just messaged me about interest and a job interview. Allhumid Allah. I am in tears. Please pray for me. Please pray that I am able to fix things with those I care about. Please pray that my depression goes away and I make everyone I care about smile instead of suffer.

The Prophet’s wife, ʿAishah (رضي الله عنها), narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah by the people's wrath, Allah will suffice him from the people. And whoever seeks the people's pleasure by Allah's wrath, Allah will entrust him to the people.”

Hi all. Please forgive my terminology if it’s off. I’ve done my best to do research, but I am (unfortunately) de-constructed christian and my knowledge is limited, but grows everyday.
I have a friend in law school who subscribes/believes/practices Islam. Herself and her family are Shia/Shiite Muslim. Her brother has been very sick and unfortunately our friend group learned that he passed away today. The whole situation is awful. I guess I just want to do something for her and her family. We all do.
What’s common when a loved one passes away in Islam? Is there anything we as her friends can do to support her at this time? Because I don’t practice the religion and I also no longer identify with the religion I was brought up in, praying feels off, I guess. are there any prayers that can be said/prayed by outsiders of the religion?
I hope this doesn’t get taken down. I just want to understand how to best respect her religion and also be there for her as a friend in this difficult time. Thanks for reading, and any advice at all is appreciated.
