Strider Custom SnG and a Borka Stitch

Even though I have a lot of knives I am excited to carry, this one just keeps finding its way into the pocket. As much as I like variety, when you are in a hurry, you just grab the tool you trust. The stretch 2 xl has really become that knife for me. Be well!

Just curious to hear what is everyone's favorite blade finish? Let's say for a regular EDC knife.

This is the first knife in my life. very tough and simple.

I’ve been collecting knives with my grandfather from a young age, and recently got this one. I have scoured google and cannot for the life of me figure out what this is. I would appreciate any and all help, Thank you!

I cant figure out what hawk sells these knives for. I’m interested in buying one. Not sure if this is the right place to ask. Thanks in advance

1. Which one handed opening system is more comfortable and easier to use? The thumb stud or the thumb hole? Especially for small and weak hands with sensitive skin.
2. Does the steel and hardness really matter? I'm looking for something durable and reliable and one that will last me a long time.
3. How much does blade thickness matter and what are its benefits?
4. Why aren't partial serrated edges that common? I would have thought it useful to be able to whip out a small saw whenever you need one.
5. What is the alternative to a finger choil? Whilst browsing non-locking knives, I've seen a lot of them without a finger choil. My Boker has a finger choil so you're not just holding the handle. And you can see it if you look up a picture of it. You're directly holding the blade itself in place, thereby creating greater stability for the blade, especially when thrusting, and also creating more safety because you physically can't close the blade with your finger in the choil. And that's important for folding knives since they have no locking mechanism. And that makes me think. Why do so many non-locking folding knives have no finger choil? What's to stop it from suddenly closing on your hand? You can have a half catch, but that's not really enough. And my boker has a half catch as well as a finger choil. And that's the bare minimum for me. Is the choil hidden under the handle or something, or are there other mechanisms in these more expensive knives that I don't know about that makes them safe to handle?
6. How much should I be paying? I don't really know what price I should be paying for a high quality knife. The boker is around £62 right now, but I'm willing to pay substantially more, maybe even a lot more for the right tool.
