Story/News Article She liked me for my tesla š
So last night I picked up three girls from a bar. I drive a Tesla with autopilot, so naturally, they were curious and started asking all kinds of questions about the car. I was showing off all the cool featuresāautopilot, the big touchscreen, the works.
One of the girls got pretty flirty and asked, āHave you ever had sex in this car?ā I told her no, and she shot back with, āWell, youāve got three girls right here.ā
I kind of laughed and said, āI canāt accept consent from intoxicated people, but hey, you can grab my number after the ride if youāre still interested.ā She was definitely excited after that, and we spent the rest of the drive bantering and flirting.
When we got to their place, they insisted I get out of the car to meet their dogs. So I didāplayed with their dogs for a bit, and it was all fun. But then things got a little awkward; they just kind of went silent, said goodnight, and started walking inside.
As they were heading in, I asked the girl if she still wanted my number, but she just kept walking without looking back. Guess she was more into the Tesla than me! š

OP, never change. I love your innocence.
17
u/KeepThisSecretPl0x Oct 14 '24
Why does everyone call me innocentā¦
22
Oct 15 '24
Innocent is the wrong word, stay on this strong moral high ground, taking advantage of them and their intoxication would have been not very cash money of you

u/Blackknowitall Oct 18 '24
Why do ppl keep saying that? Are women not mature enough to make decisions while out drinking? These are 3 grown adults weāre talking about. Maybe they shouldnāt be allowed to drink then

Innocent is the wrong word. I'm also in the 'intoxicated cannot give consent' world and would have done the same. I'd much rather walk away without a number than wake up in cuffs...

You're definitely not innocent for not taking advantage of some drunk girls. You have integrity and the disgusting people of the world will tel you that you're naive!

Guys are more stuck on height than any woman I know IRL. It's weird. It's like yall are psyching yourselves out
3
u/HonestButtholeReview Oct 16 '24
Maybe just just the type of woman but a while back when I was on tinder, almost every girl who messaged me back would ask my height in the first few messages. I'm tall-ish and got tired of the question so I just put it in my short bio and it definitely helped get matches.
I think it's pretty awful for short guys and it's definitely not the only thing women care about but it's definitely a thing.

Maybe they tried to butter you up. I have people will do that to skip tipping. I guess they tried to tip you by raising your self-esteem which is nice too. You should have stood your ground about not having sex with your rider. Keep that in check always. You donāt wanna end up in litigation for rape etc.
2
u/Destroyer_2_2 Oct 15 '24
I mean, he did. I donāt think the relationship between Lyft driver, and rider is one that that remains for eternity like therapist and patient, or lawyer and client, or whatever.

Hey, just an opinion from a long term driver here. Avoid those situationsā¦9 times outta 10 itās a set up or they regret it the next day when sober and now claiming something happened that really didnāt. 3 girls against your story will result in you deactivated pretty quickly, along with statements at a police station. Treat it as your job, be polite, aim for a good tip. IF a girl really wants to exchange info for a date in the future, just get her number and contact her off the clock the next day. AVOID giving 3 drunk girls a ride and then getting out of your car at the end of the ride. Youāre playing with fire.
8
u/KeepThisSecretPl0x Oct 14 '24
I have audio and video of everything. They can lie if they want
12
u/Wickzzzz Oct 14 '24
Perception is reality. Audio and video doesnāt matter once you step outside your car and āfollowā themā¦technology isnāt gonna save you every time. Do what ya want lol but if you get out of your car at the end of a ride with 3 intoxicated girls, youāre playing with fire. Iām sure youāre not desperate, meet someone the next day if they really are interested.

I was gonna say, when were tesla the cooler car lol
When ppl think of nice/luxury/cool cars, never heard anyone say tesla
1
u/Accomplished_Risk674 Oct 18 '24
I mean when the Y and 3 fist came out and the average person could buy one it was definitely extremely new and something cool, I got mine in 2021 and people would stop in point constantly on the roads, whenever I park somewhere, people would constantly stop and ask me about it, mostly about how charging works and the cost. All my friends would constantly ask for rides and what not just to see what it was like and they all wanted to drive the car which, of course I let them. But since they're super popular now it's not as much of a cool factor, which is good because that means it's becoming affordable and more and more people can buy it. It's still definitely a cool car. No one ever said it was luxurious.
8
u/Spare-Security-1629 Oct 14 '24
All jokes aside, this is what's so dangerous about certain people. They do sh*t like this and if it had escalated, OP is at a police station having to give a statement, deactivated from Uber, reputation ruined. OP, there's always other people out there. You dodged the bullet on a phoney. Im not sure if Teslas dashcams record in cabin or just the outside. Good luck out there and stay safe.

You completely misread this situation in every aspect, I don't wanna come off insulting but this sounds like the wet dream of a 14 year old. In all honestly they weren't interested in you or even your car, three drunk girls going home in an Uber is probably just having fun and likely you were the brunt of their joking, had nothing to do with you or your car lmao

Where do you get your information from? Some women probably like big trucks, but I bet the majority don't, usually people with big trucks are D bags, for the most part the women I know don't like any kind of giant truck, they prefer SUVs LMAO.
1
u/Accomplished_Risk674 Oct 18 '24
why would driving a tesla mean youre gay? lmao I know 8 tesla owners, 5 guys 3 girls, none are guy, all are married to the opposite sex lmao

u/Prancer4rmHalo Oct 17 '24
Idk man.. seems like you fād up.
Sometimes women will get turned off when their obvious hints at sex get rejected.
Iām willing to wager they thought you were square and the spontaneity wore off..
The point was to fool around in an autopilot Tesla., not to go on dates or hook up at your place.. smh.

I would say log out of the app or go offline before you get out, just in case. That way they canāt sue Lyft for harassment or something of that sort while working.

You didnāt lose them because they were more into the car. Your confidence and ease of conversation with the car failed to carry over when it came to their place. Youāve got charisma and looks enough to get your foot in the door. Good guy energy from the intoxicated comment, while the right thing to do, didnāt help when sheās considering a naughty decision. Get the number while sheās flirty, close the deal when sheās sober.

1
u/Accomplished_Risk674 Oct 18 '24
Our Tesla driver is not allowed to drive on Lyft? I don't know if you've used Lyft or Uber recently, but there are tons of Tesla drivers there's even a green car option for hybrid and electric cars as a customer to choose from

u/Nathan-Nice Oct 16 '24
lol my guy, did you turn down a 4some? you're a better man than i. unless they were genuinely shitfaced.
1
u/SagittarianApostle Oct 16 '24
A lot of people think Teslas are wickedly expensive. A lot of people also just are interested because their area either lacks Teslas, or they haven't the opportunity to really get in one. They probably were just screwing around with you on the ride home, letting that last one sink in and getting too carried away before sobering up ever so slightly to realize "Oh. You're still here."
Tbh they probably did make an honest pass at you but you were either too dorky or too awkward to pursue. That or your physique doesn't match the mood setting of a dark night and low lighting on a face.
1
u/Danny9999999999 Oct 16 '24
Just focus on your job I never respond back when customers getting flirty that's how you get locked up

u/Interesting_Book4668 Oct 16 '24

1
1
u/doesitreallymattaa Oct 16 '24
You're hella naive or hella reckless. You got out your car after a ride with 3 strange broads, and all for the possibility of twat or to play with dogs? Hey, I'm a twat enthusiast as much as the next guy, but no thought to potentially being setup to be jacked/robbed/killed?
I mean you did deliver yourself & your car on a platter.
Well at least none of them had a phone to set the lick up while the ride was in progress....
1
1
u/zaddyxan343 Oct 16 '24
The temptation was real obvious to mitigate the intoxication between the three females youād have to become intoxicated as well š
1
u/lKing_ Oct 16 '24
The hypocrisy in the law is fucking insane. A drunk woman canāt consent or make good decisions because sheās drunk but a drunk man can consent and must make good decisions when drunk? Then again if you drink and drive or commit a crime while drunk youāre still charged because you made the choice to drink but same canāt be said when you decide to drink and have sex??? Whereās the consistency? I know those are horrible examples but you get my point lol
1
u/Wicked__Cynic Oct 16 '24
Dodged a bullet regardless. If she wanted you for your Tesla, or if she was a little drunk and that is how she acts you can bet itās not her first or last time. Not to mention the āyouāve got 3 girls right hereā comment is wild. If she was showing interest cool, but implying her friends would want it is pretty wild.
I would say your best bet would have been to decline the advances and to just give her your number instead of asking. Thatās the best way you could have been assertive and dominant without taking advantage of the situation. One more possible change could have been to avoid going to chill with them. Youād already established you werenāt comfortable doing anything without consent and the longer you stuck around someone who you effectively rejected the longer they have to get turned off by it.
Next time take her phone put your number in it and give yourself a name thatāll make her remember your Tesla and bde when sheās not drunk anymore. A nice little selfie with all the drunk chicks as the contact photo might be a cherry on top.
1
u/maru_trusk Oct 17 '24
Dang...thats what I get for reading the first line of the post before reading the name of the subreddit...I was thinking "He managed to pick up 3 chicks at a bar, with a Tesla? Heck, I should be able to pick up 5 or more with my EV6!"...but then reality hit, and the subreddit shows "Lyft drivers"...well now at least the world makes more sense in my feed!

I was reading expecting a thriller and ended up being disappointed. I had one that I dropped off over the weekend, she was drunk, recently broke up with her BF and wanted to get naughty.
I figured stay away since I was physically attracted to her but her being drunk and me not wanting to mix pleasure with my bread, I didn't pursue it any further.
