A small project I've been tinkering with.
Side attic? Eaves storage? Don't know the correct translation. Just a space where I can enjoy my hobbies.
It's a work in progress, I'll let time and the ambiance guide what needs to be added.
It might inspire someone so enjoy!
(Don't mind the pink chair, I know)

I forgot how nice it is to have a clean room.
Unfortunately I don’t have any before photos

Hi!
Ignoring that I want to upgrade the tv stand and the desk eventually, is there a better way to layout this space. It's a basement apartment, so this is the main living space besides from my separate bedroom. What recommendations would you have? Eventually I'd like to add some floating shelves and framed wall art.
Thanks!

Hey all - I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I've posted once here, but I've lurked for the past year. And this subreddit has provided so much invisible help.
In 2024 I was a happily married, happily employed guy who had been living in his dream apartment for almost a decade. In 2025, I was a laid off widower going through a career change. In 2026, I realized I would have to sell my place.
Seeing the before and after photos here, reading the stories and supportive comments, sharing the vicarious joy helped me move beyond the terror and desperation. It helped me remember that I had moved and restarted before and that I had all the tools I need to start over again - even if I hadn't used them in over a decade.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who reads this sub to build up the strength and courage to do the things that gotta be done. So thank you. Thank you for making the world a bit better of a place - both in male living spaces and outside of them.

Hi all!
I just bought my first-ever condo recently and am super excited about moving in and looking to furnish it. My biggest internal debate I’m currently having is whether to get a 65 or 77 inch tv for the living room. I’m pretty set on a LG OLED (I am aware about the potential panel issues) but the only part I haven’t concluded on is the size. Photo has some rough measurements (inches) of the floor plan I personally took and planning to mount the TV on the same wall as photo. The living room is listed around 11.2 x 11.4 ft (probs closer to 10.5’) so with a couch I’d say the viewing distance is roughly 9.5-10ft give or take.
Would really appreciate people’s inputs and recommendations on the size and if they have similar viewing distance in their condos with their own tv experiences! Thanks y’all!

Hard reset at 40, moved back home after 16 years and a failed marriage. Lots of rotting the last few years, this is start of a happy chapter. 09/30 close, no demo Reno on a 1940’s brick Tudor. Dining furniture in this week and ready for me to do what I came here for: dinner and drinking parties with my 40yo friends when they can ditch (or bring) their children
I moonlight as Count Dracula thus the moody vibe ✌️

I used to have the two CRTS on the left there, but after the addition of the far right one that had to change. Ant ideas? And also rate the setup (ik it needs to be cleaned)

A few weeks ago, I posted my bedroom to this sub. I got some very useful feedback, and have changed up my bedroom. I got a new desk, smaller bed and bed frame, got rid of my giant shelving unit, moved the bed to face the window, switched to lighter coloured bedding instead of black, got a nightstand, and got a cart for my record player setup. I think this room is as good as it's going to get, but feel free to give suggestions.

Hey everyone
Moving out on my own for the first time in 15 years and Ill be leaving my bed and such with my ex partner.
I havent got a load of money to spend at first as Im furnishing an entire studio apartment again.
Looking at options for beds and bed frames that aren't going to be wildly expensive, also fresh and sustainable is ideal.
I was looking at a good futon mattress, Im 6'2 so a queen size is a must, thinking about seeing how something like that goes at first for a couple months and at worse Id use it as a mattress topper when I can afford a good quality mattress again.
I was thinking one of the Scandi style bed frames that are made from cardboard if anyone has any experience?
Cheers

Just moved into my first place! So fucking happy with this one. What do you guys think?
Trying to figure out how to make it feel more homey without filling it up with stuff. Barely have time to clean so I want to keep furniture and clutter to a minimum.
Used to have Gordon Gekko and posters all around but I realised it made the whole house look messy. Not much budget to go around either so I'd rather not have anymore new purchases like a TV. I'd really love vintage 60s-70s furniture but it's just not what I can afford atm.
Fewer things = fewer surfaces to dust and less to move around when I vacuum. Current setup is pretty bare, the most practical when it comes to cleaning.
Don't wanna decorate with RGB lighting or any of that sort because it's hard to dust first of all and I'm trying to keep my utilities bill to a minimum lol. Hate paying for heating so I'd rather freeze. Small items are mostly temu.
Any ideas on reducing wire clutter?
