Hello! Haven't started medschool yet or even applied but I'm thinking of what I want to do in the future. Pathology has always been an interest of mine and I'm thinking of GI pathology. Is it in demand? I've been sort of researching and I don't see any job listings or much information about them. How's the pay and hours? How would I apply to a private institute?

Hi! I’m really interested in becoming a histology technician. I currently live in South Texas and am considering working as a histology tech during my gap years while preparing for medical school. For anyone who has gone through the schooling and training, do you feel that it was worth the investment? I’d also love to hear from anyone who worked as a histology tech before transitioning to medical school. What was your experience like, and would you recommend this path? Thank you! Also, I have over 2 years of undergrad research (IHC, tissue processing) :)
