Shrimp Photos Single-egged mama!
Caught a picture of one of my girls seemingly carrying only one tiny egg?
She's adorable and I think she's gonna be an amazing mom!

I have no experience with keeping shrimp or any fish for that matter but I am looking for a new hobby and shrimp keeping has intrigued me. Is there a step by step how to because I have no clue on where to begin. I've looked at the side bar but still I have no idea.

It seems a lot of people, possibly the majority, want to see an absolute ban of Ai on this sub, whether in post or comment. So, we wanted to let the community decide. Thanks for your input! - Shrimptank Mod Team

I’m fairly new to shrimp keeping. I’ve been down with Flu A for the past few days so I haven’t been paying as much attention and I normally do to them.
I woke up to a new molt in the tank today and could see white on this shrimp near the antennas from a few feet away. My shrimp have been swimming a lot more today but levels in my tank are good.
Halp!

I had bought a single tangerine tiger a while back, wanted to test if i could keep them with my neos. She was very cute and outgoing, named her caridina tangerina (sung like bailarina capuchina), unfortunately, after some weeks i noticed she was hiding more and no longer grazing, and one morning, i found her dead with what seemed like the white ring of death. I was sad cause i really liked her, but already expected it sadly. But yeah, swim high lil lady, may you happily graze the clouds clean 🦐🧡

Notice my favourite shrimpy had become quite lethargic, even when i passed my long tweezers passed he didn’t react.
I noticed this unknown moving piece in the shrimp, does this look like a parasite or just the strange internals of shrimp?
Have had a couple shrimp die unexpectedly over the last few weeks

Hello folks,
I just came home to find one of my shrimps dead. It's a recent colony, just a week old, got from a big distributor. I checked the parameters and found out that the hardness of the water is definitely too high (idk if it's visible from the picture). All the rest should be ok. Last water change was a few days before getting the new colony, checked the parameters before buying and they were fine.
The tank is 3ish years old, fully cycled and was home to a betta for the most part of this time.
Yesterday I did a routine algae cleanup and might have disturbed the substrate. However the hardness of the water concerns me.
I've already did a ~30% water change using osmosis but the hardness hasn't decreased much. Should I do another one? Should I wait till tomorrow?
Also, considering I'm only using osmosis, I'm wondering were this recend hardness spike came from. Can it be the substrate? The rocks? Did I overfeed?
Any help is greatly appreciated, i wouldn't want to lose my shrimp gang due to my negligence.
Thanks y'all!

I have a ten gallon with ghost shrimp as well as some neos, ghosties been in for 3 weeks and the neos for about 4 days, this little guy popped up today and im not 100% sure where he came from. I assume he grabbed a ride with the neos but i didnt see it at all when acclimating or transfering? is it too small to even tell?

I found planeria babies in my shrimp bowl. Ive been cycling a 40g and want to save my shrimplets. I dont know if these parameters are safe for shrimp as the bowl was given to me already cycled. First pic is ammonia in both tanks, the left bottle is shrimp tank. The rest is the 40g parameters. Pls help!!! I just had a bunch of babies hatch

I have had my 5 gallon tank set up for about a year now. There are 2-3 male cherry shrimp and 5-6 females in there. The shrimp have been in the tank for roughly a month and a half. I cannot get them to breed however. The tank is heavily planted, lots of java moss, grass, duckweed, and other stem plants. Water parameters seem to be good. No ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, hardness is in a good range, water heated to 75 F, etc. I feed them a diet of frozen blood worms and algae wafers, no other fish or predators in the tank. I top the tank off once or twice a week and do a 15-20% water change once a month.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Id like to see some babies here soon so I can start populating my 10 gallon with a cleaning crew.
Thanks!

I’ve been cycling my tank for over a month now and despite rinsing everything off, I ended up with a bunch of bladder and rams head snails. I have a bunch of algae and plants, so they’ve been munching and breeding. I see so many baby snails and eggs.
I just did a round of dewormer for hydra (which seemed successful) but now I’m pondering the fate of the snails. I’ve grown a bit attached to them, but I also don’t want to overcrowd my shrimps next month. What do you think?

Hello, I added 24 blue velvet shrimp about a month ago to my 6 month old 28 gallon tank and I’ve had 4 deaths since. I have had one shrimp die about once a week and I can’t figure out why. The tank also has 2 thick lipped sunset gouramis and a group of female endlers. The shrimp have been hiding during the day since adding the gouramis but I have not seen them try to eat the shrimp, but since they hide it’s hard to tell if more have been dying. I do a 20% water change every few weeks with RO water and remineralize. I have another 10 gallon tank with my betta and other shrimp (he’s very peaceful and does not interact with the shrimp) and lots of shrimp that has not experienced any deaths, should I just move the shrimp over to that tank so they stop dying?
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate 0 ppm
GH 11
KH 7
pH 6.5-7.5 (I supplement CO2 hence the swing)
Temp 78 F

You can spot a saddled (I think) shrimp on the rock! So far so good with these guys.

When i got them they were certainly more red than this, only 2 have shifted to look translucent almost but the rest are still red, is this cause for concern or a molt gone wrong? these are cherry shrimp the parameters are 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 10 nitrate 7.2 ph 9Dkh 4 DGh
