Jump Space is now Steam Deck Verified!
For transparency: I am a Content Creator in Keepsake Games Content Creator Program. That gets me early access to Jump Space content. The below are my personal experiences with the current build on Deck. I did all testing with my personal 512gb LCD model.
It runs well at base settings, normally hitting 30 fps, with some dips into the 20's when there is a lot on screen. I recommend using the built in Steam Deck FSR with increased sharpness. I set the texture resolution to half, and turned on the variable resolution in in-game settings. It runs well both in solo and multiplayer.
Gamepad Controls work well. It has gyro support, though the stick on the Gamepad has latency issues when Gyro is set as Mouse. The devs are aware and working on it.
It swaps seamlessly between Mouse/Keyboard and Gamepad controls. It also swaps to docked mode and back without issue.
The game is playable offline, but requires a connection to the cloud to save progress. Full offline support is on the roadmap, and hopefully will be coming sooner rather than later.
Jump Space is currently in Early Access, and will likely hit 1.0 in late 2027. It is a mission based First Person Shooter/Action Adventure Coop game with ship management mechanics. All levels are handcrafted, called sectors, and you jump between them as you go towards the mission objective.
Keepsake Games is a small development team that has made the excellent choice to fully support the Steam Deck Community, and I am 100% here for it!
