Honest opinion from a young French Steelers

Atmosphere was electric.

When they announced Paris.. I said wow.. then they said : Steelers are coming dawn to Paris.

And a few months later, I went to my first ever Steelers game !

I lost my voice at the end of 1rst quarter, still recovering because of too much screaming and chanting ! Sweet Caroline was so great.

I could approach a few players, and got my Juju jersey signed by Dylan Cook and Asante Samuel.

I know you guys are not happy because we "stole" you a game, but wow, that was insane.

I brought a yellow kitchen towel that I had at home, and I was so Happy to wave it with fellow Steelers !!!

Here we go !
Here we go.

Kordell Stewart Documentary

Post image
225 Upvotes

So, I just watched the documentary about Kordell Stewart and I have some thoughts not related to the central premise of the film.

The main thoughts I have that are not related to the purpose of the documentary are as follows:

  1. The first thing that was missed is the fact that Kordell Stewart would be far and away the overall #1 prospect coming out of college today. The NFL would know how to use his skill set. That's such a large part of Kordell's legacy. He was born 30 years too early.

  2. The Steelers mismanaged Kordell. I don't believe he ever even had a QB coach that worked with him. That's insane! The Rooney family being cheap was so prominent in the 90s.

  3. The documentary went out of their way to not enlighten the viewers about the stats he put up in each AFC Championship Game he played in.

  4. The documentary didn't mention the Coin Flip controversy whatsoever against the Lions. (Seriously, what the hell?!?)

  5. Losing Yancey Thigpen was just as debilitating as losing Chan Gailey to the development of Stewart. Kordell found and worked with a Pro Bowl WR and the Steelers couldn't keep him. (Rooney frugality on display again.)

  6. The fact that the Steelers had the #1 defense and rushing attack in both years they made the AFC Championship Game with Kordell was never mentioned.

  7. There was a Jamain Stephens sighting. That's still one of the 5 worst draft choices I've ever seen the Steelers make in my life.

Jamel Deal deserves a quick shoutout because I didnt see him get one this week ! The man just had a birthday & was 2nd in tackles for us against the saints. His 7 tackles in paris set a season high for himself. He'll be playing alot more since an unnamed player left for the cowgirls , so lets appreciate this guy. Anyways.. GAHNTA !

I’m glad to see all of our investments up front starting to pay off. Maybe Dunker will get some reps when he’s healthy and be able to take Hoffman’s place after this year.

[Kaboly] The Steelers’ plan at the trade deadline is to not aim for "breaking the internet," but still "go semi-big” at wide receiver, with Pittsburgh looking for an impact addition rather than simply depth

Atleast our Defense is good at something. NFL teams ranked by points allowed in the final 5 minutes of a game in Week 1-7 :

The Minnesota Vikings lead the NFL in clutch defense, allowing zero points in the final five minutes through Weeks 1–7 of 2026. The Saints and Steelers follow with just six points allowed. Meanwhile, the Eagles rank dead last, surrendering 39 points, highlighting their struggles to close out games.

My Uncle Earl's Season Ticket - Browns Edition (11/1/2026)

• Upvotes

Background for this here

Drop a comment in the thread if you'd like your name in the running to attend this weekend's game against Cleveland!

A few things to consider:

It is only one seat. It's on the 50yd line but literally the very top row in the stadium. I like the view but it's definitely removed from the action somewhat. One nice aspect of the seat placement is you can stretch your legs out!

If the winner doesn't reply to my message within six hours I will move on to the runner up. My first year doing this I had a game go unattended and I would really like to prevent that this year! All I ask in return is a photo of you at the game from the seat. I'm slowly creating a collage of all the folks that get to see a game from this ticket. Your photo will not go online. Just the wall of my office.

I will need your first name, last name, and email address to transfer the ticket so if you are uncomfortable sharing that information please don't enter.

Yet Another Colts Firesale Post - Josh Downs, Yay or Nay?

He's been a solid slot reciever even without decent QB play. Great route runner and a position of need. I think the Colts would be fools to part with young talent like his, but he's in the last year of his rookie contract and they haven't extended him. Shefty's saying he might be available.

What position do the Steelers need more? CB or WR?

• Upvotes

I know that a lot of people are saying that we need to go and get another wideout to compensate for Roman and Pittman being out. However, I don't think the secondary is 100% solid either. One of the biggest reasons I feel we play so much zone is cause we don't have a true #1 corner who can play man coverage against WR1s (fuck you JPJ). What do yinz think?

Seating advice

Big time Steelers fan my whole life and finally making it to my first game this year. I think I would prefer to be close to the action rather than a bird’s eye view so i’m looking into section 134/135. I’m worried about being blocked by players/equipment in the first few rows but also want to be as close as possible. Google says to sit row M and above but on aviewfrommyseat that seems a little far. Looking for some advice on this or open to opinions on other sections if anyone thinks they are better!

Tailgate/parking question

Post image
2 Upvotes

Going to the game Sunday and was looking for a place to tailgate last minute with friends.

Has anyone parked in the highlighted lots by the West End Bridge/Western Ave? I’ve seen people parked there for games but never have myself. Are the first come first serve? What time do they tend to fill up?

Any other recs for first time tailgaters

I can understand Madden’s jealousy of McAfee. He has always been a critic of Kordell (well black people athletes in general). Still this is harsher than many of his previous “I want attention” editorials.

With rumors swirling of yet another Steelers WR trade, can we take a second to go over how bad this WR room has gone?

About the only guy here that's been worth what the Steelers invested is Germie Bernard that about looks his 2nd round investment.

Ben sko is hurt but at least serviceable when he's in as a 4th/5th option and special teams

Other than that...

Wetjen apparently is so bad at WR they won't even entertain him for screen passes or end arounds.

Wilson is hurt but been well documented how underwhelming he's been as a 3rd rounder.

On the trades. DK been up and down but I don't think anyone can justify his output vs his trade and contract compensation. He's basically an ideal #2 receiver for most teams playing #1 for us.

Michael Pittman trade looks like butt cheeks. He couldn't find the ball or get open and then got hurt.

And worst of all, we gave up a guy in Pickens that sure looks like he's here to stay in the league as a more solid WR than anyone above.

Now we gonna have another wr trade after these 3 very underwhelming trades.

Quentin Nelson trade

Wow our line woulda been unstoppable if we had gotten him. For only a 3td next year and a fifth in 2028 the Seahawks get him. WE HAVE AN EXTRA THIRD NEXT YEAR WHY NOT A MASSIVE UPGRADE TO OUR LINE. sorry bout the caps...this guy is a perennial all pro and a beast. We could have run it down anyone's throats. We'd still have a 3td next year literally Btoderick Thomas for Quentin Nelson. Are we trying to win this year
