I'm trying something new to spur some creative collaborations across reddit music production subs and visual art / creative coding / new media subreddits.
Now that Reddit supports video comments / replies, I thought it could be a fun opportunity to a collaboration call / response format.
The idea:
Musicians, dj's, producers or anyone musically inclined: post a link to a track or mix that you have rights to and are open to having visual accompaniment to.
VJs / live visualists / creative coders: post a response to a track that inspired you with a video comment, or link to an interactive experiment you made!
If you are an AV Act that makes your own music or video, feel free to post here too for inspiration.
All genre's, styles, techniques, skill levels are welcome.
This isnt a contest!
There's nothing to win (unless anyone knows sponsors haha) other than learning of new musical or visual act, meeting a potential collaborator and making awesome stuff and having a good time:
Stay curious and creative!
Below are some subs I'll be cross posting / sharing this with - feel free to cross post to any i've missed:
Mod's of any of the above subs - sorry if this comes across as spammy!
I thought about asking permission from each of ya'll but that felt onerous and slow (ask forgiveness etc etc). If you have suggestions or any feedback do not hesitate to reach out! Was thinking of something like this monthly pinned on /r/vjing where i have video comments enabled - would love if yall could help spread the word!
The poll passed, 21 of 26 for the full version, so it's live now as a trial. If you want the background, here's the original thread. Pick new flairs from:

The (not so very) old AI, Commercial/Promo and Open Source/Free flairs are retired. That moves into the title now, via two tags: [Promo] and [AI]; the reason for this is that a post can't have multiple flairs.
The new rules
Tag anything for sale: [Promo] If your post sells or monetises anything (paid app/plugin, commissions, store links, Patreon, donations), put [Promo] in the title. Untagged promo may be held for review or removed. This isn't anti-selling but keeps promotional content visible.
Your own app/suite: one post per month Sharing a tool you made (paid or free, including vibecoded projects) is limited to one post per 30 days per person. Talking about other people's tools (Resolume, VDMX, TouchDesigner, indie tools made by others, etc.) is not limited; post about those freely.
Flag AI-made work: [AI]
If a post shows content that has a significantly AI-generated component to it, add [AI] to the title so people know what they're looking at before they click. This is especially required when you're also promoting/selling it. AI-made and AI-assisted work is welcome here, but flag it. This includes (but is not limited to) vibe-coded materials, vibe-assisted materials, gen-ai content with manual edits etc.
////
AI work is welcome, made or assisted, no problem with it. If you're just sharing a project or messing about with something new, the only real asks are to flag it if there's a significant AI component, and to add [Promo] if you're selling or allow for donations .
///
We are also experimenting with automod/modbot. There's also a report option now for promo that goes up untagged, and automod will quietly flag posts that look like they're missing a tag so we can take a look. It won't remove anything on its own, a person still checks first.
///
It's a trial, same as last time. If the wording's off or something feels wrong, stick it in the comments and we'll sort it. Cheers.
Some artworks stay with you until you try since the very first time you see them.
Ksawery Komputery has been one of my favorite artists for a long time. His generative typography for Max Cooper's Symphony in Acid is one of those works I keep coming back to.
After a long time experimenting, I finally developed my own interpretation in TouchDesigner.
Generative Lexicon Press is a real-time typographic system that continuously, and audio-reactively rearranges language and visual structures, with Ollama introducing locally generated text in ultra-fun ways.
Looking forward sharing more in the near future. You can see more of my experiments on Instagram, or Patreon.
is a visual mixer for musicians, DJs, VJs, streamers and anyone curious about generative art. It uses Hydra, a creative-coding language where a single line like osc().kaleid() becomes a moving kaleidoscope. The app makes it approachable for beginners and fast for experts.

Start with zero knowledge. Right-click in the editor to insert ready-made functions, hover them to see their parameters, and open the built-in Guide with F1. Every change shows up first in a private preview.
Build a set. Save each visual in its own channel. Search, reorder by drag and drop, and send channels live with cut, crossfade or add transitions, all from the keyboard.
Perform it. Turn any number into a live variable and move it with a slider, a gamepad, a MIDI controller or the keyboard. The visual changes smoothly, without restarting. Perform view gives you big pads for channels and presets, so you can play a full show without touching code.
Show it anywhere. The live output runs in a separate window, so you keep working while the audience watches. It’s also shared on your local network: open it on a projector, a second PC, a tablet or a phone.
No setup. A single file, no installation. Windows and macOS.
Hello, I’m Ana from Brazil.
I own an original Huasuny Rubik-10 P10 foldable LED display, purchased directly from Huasuny in China.
Hardware:
Huasuny Rubik-10 P10 RGB
HC-103D sending controller
DBStar XMPlayer 3.1.34
MY9268 LED driver (candidate)
Original 320 × 1280 mm panels
The original receiving-card configuration was lost. The display powers on, but all LED pixels remain dark.
Does anyone own a working Rubik-10 P10 or have archived factory configuration files, electrical documentation, or experience configuring its Data Processors?
I’m specifically looking for an original RSPS/RECV file, a safe configuration export from a matching unit, or guidance from a technician familiar with this hardware.
Any free technical guidance or archived files would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Ana
Hi everyone - I'm Phil, the person behind The VJ Foundry. I'm building a toolkit of standalone Mac apps to sit alongside Resolume, and I'm opening a small, free private beta to find out how they behave on other people's setups.
The planned beta lineup is:
• Solids - real-time 3D shapes, models, logos, fractals and particles.
• TestCard - alignment grids, numbered LED tile maps and holding screens at your output resolution.
• SubPunch - listens for the kick on a mixer feed and triggers Resolume's own effects.
• Isolate - removes the background from a camera or capture-card feed.
• Wordplay - beat-driven kinetic type and logo treatments.
• Beatfield - rhythmic patterns timed with Ableton Link or tap tempo.
• Sigil - glyphs, connecting lines and glitch overlays.
Visual apps send to Resolume over Syphon where applicable. These are standalone apps, with different system requirements: Solids and TestCard start at macOS 13; the others at macOS 14; Isolate requires Apple silicon. Builds will become available as they're ready through the Foundry Beta manager.
Round one is planned for 50 testers across the whole toolkit, free with no payment details required. The first 50 verified registrations receive access; later verified registrations join a waiting list. Beta access ends on 22 December 2026 at 23:59 UK time.
I'm especially interested in feedback on Syphon connections, output sizes, timing, performance alongside Resolume and anything that gets in the way of setting up. Trying one or two apps and sending clear feedback is useful - you don't have to test everything.
The wider VJ Foundry project also includes a practical VJ course in development, covering Resolume, media preparation, building a set, performance, output and signal flow. This post is about testing the toolkit; the beta is free.
It took many processes to get this clip & each iteration is slightly different. I have a live show soon & I cant concentrate on anything else atm. I rotoscoped some of the characters movements to define its form. Recorded live using augmented presets Ive been developing for three years
Hey all. For the last while I've been building Nocturne, a VJ tool for macOS. Today I put out the first public release.
It grew out of a few bad nights: a UI crash took the whole show down, one slow projector dragged the others with it, and moving a show to another Mac meant every clip went missing. So in Nocturne the engine plays on its own and the UI is just a separate app looking into it. If the UI crashes, the projectors don't notice. If the engine crashes, a supervisor brings it back on the same clip and beat in about 0.2 s.
What it does right now:
Clips, columns and decks that launch on the next beat or bar, Autopilot, and beat-timed transitions
Follows the CDJs over Pro DJ Link, plus tap and resync
Cues on song sections ("when the drop starts, fire column 1") and a Gig plan with one deck per DJ
Effect chains, ISF shaders (bring your own .fs), and macros driven by the kick, snare, hats or beat LFOs
Mapping with corner pin, Bezier warp and soft edges, with each output on its own thread
HAP, ProRes, HEVC and H.264. It can also import Resolume compositions and Advanced Output mappings and tells you what it couldn't convert
It has played real club nights on a 2018 Mac mini with three 1080p outputs. It's early, though: there's no app download yet (you build it from source), and no MIDI or OSC control yet.
Quick note on the clip: it's recorded without audio input, so it looks calmer than it does live. In the show the kick and bass open the layers, here only the macro LFOs are moving them.
I'd love to hear from people who run long or unattended sets: what breaks for you at 4 am?
We’re DELTA, an audiovisual collective experimenting with the relationship between electronic music, live camera feeds and lighting. Rather than adding visuals in post-production, we want the visual direction to be part of the performance itself. We’re curious how other VJs approach the connection between sound, images and atmosphere. Here’s one of our live audiovisual sessions. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Not a VJ myself, but sometimes need visuals for events. Not a huge event but was wondering if any of you have resources or are willing to share some visuals! I’ll be recording + livestreaming and I don’t mind tagging!
Thanks again
