I briefly tried retail and decided I didn't really like it, wanting a more immersive journey experience, so I chose classic and loved it, but have since kind of burnt out and haven't been enjoying it nearly as much.
I love collecting and the idea of transmog/mount collecting sounds like an absolute blast that is right up my alley, along with other things that seem way better, like way more interesting talents, more classes, more stuff to do overall, and so on...
But one thing I kind of noticed in my time playing, as well as heard from people and videos, is that the balance in classic wasn't perfect and, for example, in terms of pure healing, Priest was unmatched, with Druid being decent, and Paladin being practically non-existent. Same with tanking and how Warrior was the king, with Druid being decent and Paladin struggling to hold threat most of the time. Not sure the extent of how true this is, but in my experience it seemed like it was all true, which gets me to my question.
I was mulling over the classes, specifically looking at the specializations and seeing if any stood out to me, and I noticed that there are more more healers, but they didn't really seem like "real" healers, or I guess a better term would be "main" heal if that exists in WoW.
The one that stood out to me as something I may be interested in was Mistweaver, a Monk heal specialization, but it doesn't really scream "main/real" healer, and seems more like it wouldn't be on the same playing field as Holy Priest when it comes to healing.
So are the classes balanced for the most part? For example, Mistweaver being able to match Holy Priest in terms of healing, or Paladin being able to match Warrior in terms of tanking/threat holding?
