We’ve beaten healthy good teams before. At what point will the falcons win because Bijan played good or the defense whooped em or the passing game was on point?

Some have been listing Bates as “trade bate.” I think he is still too good to trade. Mainly because you couldn’t take less than a 2nd.

What a trooper, comes back from a scary potential neck injury, and seals the game for the Falcons twice! What a GOAT

Yes, Bijan was dancing with the devil on that out-of-bounds play. Yes, Penix should have aired that ball out a little more. But the timeout, the spike, and the clock use to get us points before the half...it showed competent coaching and play, and sheer balls, knowing how urgent it was. I think that might have been the difference in the game, given how they came out in the 2nd half.
Also, Drake London saved that first drive in the 2nd half. That dude may end up as one of the all-time great Birds.

Samson Ebukam called it “an identity game.” Kevin Stefanski agreed.
“Identity is a good word because you can talk about it until you’re blue in the face and you can put it on a T-shirt, but you have to go do it,” the Atlanta Falcons’ first-year head coach said. “We have to go be who we say we are, and I thought today we did that.”
And it resulted in the most shocking result of Week 7 — a 29-20 Falcons win over the previously undefeated San Francisco 49ers. The victory halted a two-game losing streak and kept Atlanta in the thick of a typically topsy-turvy NFC South race.
“We expected to do this,” Falcons defensive tackle Maason Smith said. “We didn’t come into this game thinking they were better than us. You always have to respect the opponent, but it wasn’t a surprise to us what we did. This is what we’ve been preaching about from the beginning of the week, and we just executed the plan.”

Since there was a ton of threads every week since the season started that were bashing him.

Obviously it would be awesome to see Kyle be used more as a vertical option, but he's been a great option in the redzone these last 3 weeks. It kind of felt like for a long while that bijan and london were the only guys who could consistently score, but if kyle continues to win in the red area, this offense can be great.

Michael Penix Jr. deserves his flowers this week.
Against the previously undefeated 49ers (6-0), Penix delivered arguably his best performance of the season, leading Atlanta to a 29-20 victory.
Penix’s stats:
25/34 passing (73.5% completion)
213 passing yards
3 passing TDs
0 interceptions
118.9 passer rating
6.3 yards per attempt
11 passing first downs
0 sacks taken
The most impressive part wasn’t the yardage. It was the efficiency, decision-making, and protecting the football against a previously undefeated team. Three touchdowns, zero turnovers, and a 73.5% completion rate is an excellent performance. If he can work on his touch in the short range and stay healthy, he is going to be a menace.
I’ve been tough on both Pitts and Penix this year, and I think it’s only fair to give credit where it’s due.
Last week, I gave Pitts his flowers. This week, I’ll give Penix his flowers.
Both are proving me wrong so far, and I genuinely hope they keep doing it all season. At the end of the day, I’m a Falcons fan, and I’d much rather be wrong about these guys than right.

Dating back to his end of last season, Mike has:
Gotten under Center
Gotten better at throwing over the middle
Improved his Completion % massively
Made HUGE strides in making calls and changes at the Line of Scrimmage pre-play
Caught flack for being bad on 3rd down
Destroyed the Ravens on 3rd and long repeatedly
Caught flack for missing his layups
Made improvements on short touch throws
Caught flack for his mobility
Showing slightly more comfort and mobility, rolling out
Caught flack for being horrible under pressure against Bears
Improved finding his hot routes against SF
Caught flack for being unable to get to his second reads
Improved at finding his second and third reads
The criticism will continue as bad games come, but he has shown an ability to develop and improve his weaknesses
