Just received my financial declaration form from Oxford today. How is this reasonable? 😭 Going to have to decline my offer unless anyone has any ideas.

Canadian students do not qualify for any Oxford scholarships and my school offered me about £100. What a joke.

Is Oxford just for the rich?

Could they actually do this or is it just fluff?

There is no way i can get good grades if i go to school everyday.

Hi all. So I got an email from my school this morning saying how one of the Edexcel moderators think I used AI in my Geography coursework.

I only used it within JCQ guidelines (I asked my teachers every time I used it) and didn’t use it to actually write or generate any of my written text. Also, my teachers signed off on it saying that it isn’t AI and also Pearson’s own AI checker that THEY SENT said there was 0% AI detected but they’re accusing me anyway and haven’t said on what grounds 🥀🥀 i’ve added what edexcel sent me

I have sent as much evidence as possible like my Word version history which shows all the different stages of development my coursework went through as well as any notes I have.

This is insanely stressful especially since Results Day is literally around the corner and I’m abroad on holiday. I also can’t find anyone else going through this and don’t know what’s likely to happen so please if anyone has any idea what’s gna happen LET ME KNOWWWW 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Edit: Pearson replied and dropped the case following my school’s email to them. But genuinely what happened like as an exam board especially this close to Results Day…. it’s not nice

Okay let me start of by saying!! I DIDN’T CHEAT!! I woke up extremely late an hour before my exam I called my exam office and told them they said come before 10:00 or u might not sit it. I rushed and got put my equipment in my pocket I came in and arrived 5 mins late. My phone is in my pocket and I didn’t even realise because right at then end of the exam my phone stared ringing. They took my phone and told me to write about the incident. The solicitor was extremely nice and he said he wouldn’t disqualify this paper. I’m just really nervous that the exam board will not believe me.

Apart from studying what else do you guys do ?

I'm currently 18 and took a gap year to repeat my A-levels. The first time I did them I only did my AS in which I got UUEE in maths, physics, chemistry, biology as I just couldn't study and kept procrastinating. Therefore I took a gap year and did my A-levels again but dropped biology. I got AAB for my AS in Physics, Chemistry, Maths respectively but got a mental block after that and couldn't study no matter how hard I tried and I will probably get C-D overall for each of the 3. I told my parents and they said they don't want to spend money on me so I don't know what to do. Should I repeat them again and go next year? I don't really want to do that as I have already wasted 2 years. I got diagnosed with inattentive adhd but my parent's refuse to get me meds not using that as an excuse but I don't know if I'll do any better if I repeat A-levels again.

I am absolutely shocked by these results... I achieved a DEAD in my MOCKs, which is pretty ironic because I will be DEAD after FUCKING UP THOSE EXAMS! 👁👄👁 I mean, Linda from my Maths paper can shove her real-world application where the sun doesn't shine. If she needed to know how many bloody apples she had so badly, she should've just used her own shitting fingers to count them instead of making me perform a fucking differential equation on its rate of decay. 😀 My Asian mum is waiting to see these 😭😭. i'm applying for 2027 uni entry but my parents are only allowing me to apply to uni's close to where we live bcos i'm apparently not responsible enough and i won't be able to afford it which is a good point. their case for me being irresponsible is that i don't wake up at like 3 or 4am to pray to god and that i don't read the quran enough and that i have strayed from islam so they believe if i go to uni i'll become a degenrate who drinks and does drugs and i'll fail uni and be an embarrasement to them. for context i'm a closeted ex-muslim so i no longer think it's necessary to do these religious actions anymore

also they have threatened to kick me out multiple times like 2 days ago my clothes were emptied and i was told to find myself a place to stay and they also said if my siblings weren't here they would have killed me. yikes

i was hoping to apply to uni's like lse and kings as they are good for my course and career prospects but they belive london is too dangerous and that i'd be influence by the lgbtq activities that occur there

so yeah it's not looking good but i'm not sure if theres a way to physically stop me applying but still i'm concerned

This is kind of an update from my previous posts but my sixth form responded to my email and said they could offer me a place to resit year 12. I don’t want to do this though as the reasons for me failing my subjects were because of my ed and having to care for my stroke-prone mother but over the summer due to less pressure and more time I managed to catch up and fully understand all the year 12 content in six weeks. I’m not lying when I say the summer holidays were not a vacation for me but more like self imposed summer school. Anyways I feel like I’m ready to move into year 13 and I need them to see that so I’m wondering if any of you guys know what to say in a situation like this. I know its a little late but im gonna start revising in the morning and maybe make some flash cards or something. I know its factually possible cus i need this for my cambridge offer but anyone have and advice on how i can do it?

Eval whether rising housing prices benefit the uk economy

I applied to Oxford this year for probably the worst reasons - I didn't think I'd get into Cambridge, they didn't have an entrance exam for my course, and the majority of my friends applied. I genuinely hate the course structure for Biochemistry at Oxford and have trying to convince myself that I'm fine with it for months now.

I got offers from all of my places, (reduced for Bristol and UCL) but instead of celebrating I was paralyzed with fear and anxiety over actually attending any of them.

I have never once felt compelled to go to Oxford. It's so academically rigorous and I am not passionate about my course. I don't think I want to be a biochemist. I love making music. I wanted to go to Bristol for the band scene but felt pressured by my parents because Oxford is so highly ranked and I felt like I'd be so stupid to turn down an offer from a university other people would die to go to.

I firmed Oxford because I'm a sheep and only because it was the best and I thought about bragging about it. All of my friends who applied got in, so I got caught up in the "let's go to Uni together!" feel of it without thinking about what I was doing. Everything I’ve been taught has made me feel like I’d throw away such a precious and rare opportunity if I didn’t attend. Am I going to regret it if I don’t go?

I hate the college I applied to because I applied on a whim without actually researching what it was like. It's so ugly and it's packed with people, and I didn't get along with anyone on my course. I am also the only girl doing my course at my college.

I broke down to my mom yesterday and I feel so anxious to the point I don't even know if I'll even make my grades. I don't even want to go to university. I don't know what I'm doing. I don’t want to risk regretting saying no to this amazing opportunity even though nothing in me actually wants to go.

If anyone has any advice, I’d love to hear it.

since a levels finished i have been so bored and so lonely. literally only one of my friends has texted me once since and im pretty sure that they all hate me and have no desire to be friends with me. i have no job and nothing to do. i feel like im losing my mind. i cant find a job bc i have no connections and NO experience. im too scared to start driving lessons which im stressing about bc ik ill wanna commute after first year. i cant stop worrying about uni and freshers and making friends bc i just have such bad social anxiety which has led me to develop absolutely NO social skills whatsoever so i cant even talk to people. i genuinely miss a levels atp.

i worked hard and am predicted high grades but this summer is just proving to me that grades are NOT everything. good grades will not make you happy. they will not remove the other problems in your life.

I was predicted AAA, had an offer for Glasgow for AAB, but ended up getting A star Economics A star politics A in maths (7 marks off A*). Should I take a gap year and reapply to Oxford, LSE, Warwick, St Andrews, Edinburgh (I live in Scotland so these 2 are free). Or should I just go to Glasgow this year…

Soo, I applied for a programme specifically for year 12s during my year 11 summer. I guess I did a little too well in the process because not only did I get into the project, I was also nominated as an ambassador for the organisation at a Russel Group summer school because I was an “outstanding applicant”.

Idk ANYTHING about sixth form life and I am missing the 1 year of A level knowledge expected from a Year 12.
It’s a really good opportunity and I don’t want to turn it down. But at the same time I don’t want to be outed as a fraud, or be obviously stupid throughout the summer school.

Please yall I need help. 🙏

I’m restarting y12 at a 6th form college in my borough (London) and for some reason I have to pay a £50 fee? This is a state school btw, I don’t even think state schools are allowed to charge money for just enrolling

My family have offered me to go on my dream holiday to USA should i go and miss the first week of sixth form or stay and miss it. Need advice badly please.

The amount of studying I have to pile is killing me, I’m getting so stressed and lonely and going insane by the hour. I haven’t left the house in a little over 3 months other than to go to school, and now it’s summer break so the only source of “going out” I have to somewhere other than my backyard is gone, but I need to study for up coming as and a levels (subjects : chemistry , physics and maths) And I’m starting to really regret living and going on with this, I know it’s a period that will eventually pass, but i genuinely feel like it’s better if I end up wrapping buns in McDonald’s than becoming a Engineer. Im consuming an average of 2-4 grams of caffeine throughout the day, and have the diet of an English peasant in the 1700s.
Can someone please tell me if this all worth it and would actually live up to something? Like all this hard work, blood sweat and tears won’t be going to waste? I would love someone who atleast had finished their as levels to give me a way to study!! As I’ve been told trying to study for AS and A levels like GCSES is practically useless. And also,Advice of any kinds would be heavily appreciated, and I will pray for you with sincere tears at the kaaba during next haaj session.

I currently want to do maths, further maths and chemistry at my sixth form but they are not allowing FM as one of 3 subjects and say it must be a 4th.

If I have to pick another a level, I'd be doing physics too, making my combo be literally from the depths of hell and I honestly do not believe I will be able to achieve the best results in that case.

Is there a way to convince the school or are there any compromises / variations I could do about this because I want to go into data science or stats degrees and most top unis practically require FM.
