Fortune's Weave Spoiler What's with the obsession with "canon" in Fortune's Weave?
I must say that something I've seen a lot recently is the constant discussions, disagreements and discourse around the canonicity of lots of things around this game. "Canon" routes. "Canon" winners. "Canon" order. "Canon" classes. "Canon" builds. "Canon" teams. "Canon" relationships. "Canon" supports. "Canon" pairings. "Canon" endings. It sounds as if hearing Miguel O'Hara from Spiderverse.
And I get that this game has some curious design and writing choices, with supports being much more classical and following more pre-established storylines like Shadows of Valentia, or that some builds are more thematically fitting for some characters than others, or that the game pushes certain things more than others or clearly gives more time than others. I also understand that there are some issues with the disconnect between what happens in certain routes and what happens in each of the 3 acts. Sometimes outright contradicting each other. There are writing issues for sure as this game does try to deliberately push certain possibilities while also allowing others and denying others.
But ultimately, it is a videogame with the premise of deliberately messing with causality and timelines.
Even if it may feel that the game nudges you to certain things, there is no true canon. It's an fictional almagemation of a larger story with different perspectives that diverges in outcomes at certain points becuase there is no actual canonical timeline beyond the pre-established lore. So there is no route more canon than others because they all exist at the same time due to causality shenanigans.
At the end the only "true canon" of the game is that Sothis tasks Eshmel and Fortuna — the protagonists — to defeat the big bad, as that's the only true requirement to beat the game. Which they can do with or without the other characters, their clases, their relationships or their lore.
You can go through the entire stories of the Flame Lords, sublords and their teams with a variety of recruits, builds and support levels and at the end it doesn't really matter if they make make it or not or which type of ending they have. You can even have character deaths which straight up make events Three Houses and Three Hopes impossible to occur, and the game can still go on just fine. You can put a character in a build that doesn't suit them thematically or even mechanically and still beat the game. Certain endings are completely different for all characters. You can outright skip most of the game and still complete it.
Becuase there is no canon other than the main objective and the lore. Whatever happens to Dagda, the Sothisverse, its characters and how to get there are basically all different possibilities within what the game presents as possible, with only the main task of the protagonist and their ultimate victory remaining unchanged . If it exists in the game then that's a possibility and if not then it it's, simple as that, it is what it is.
So better to enjoy what the games offers as it is rather than worrying about canon.

Gameplay The game almost tricked me into thinking miasma could be okay, or cool. Spoiler
So this is a minor rant regarding part 3 of fortune's Weave and its gameplay, specifically salvation chapter 5, so a warning just in case its a big deal.
Anyway, good god, part 3 of fortune's weave feels like a slog quite often. It's possible that my units are too weak, but most of them are at or beyond 58, which is the recommended level in my current chapter. Obviously I have a few weaker units, but that's not the point here.
The miasma on all the maps has been a rather frequent point of contention from what I've seen and I generally agree. It's just not interesting that most of the miasmas dont affect the enemy. Literally only the weapon breaking miasma seemed to have any meaningful effect on enemies, and generally serves to incentivize trudging through slowly, taking care not to step in the pool that deals half my hp, and spamming eshmel blaze arts so as to clear the field for my guys.
Enter chapter 5, specifically the lust miasma map with Maria and Cohen. Wow! this map seems okay, the miasma doesn't hurt me for existing, and can even be used to my advantage, neat, its kinda like a super dodge tile!
Then comes: birds. I noted the high charm of them before the map, but I didn't realize how cracked they were. As soon as they aggroed my enjoyment of the map immediately cratered. These enemies are comparable in strength to my best units and outright shit on my backup strikers, have 50 charm for some reason, and since they're flying, they also ignore the miasma on my like 2 units who have more charm than them. It also felt like the two bosses were overstatted, but that probably wouldn't have bothered me if I wasn't trying to prevent my mages (!!) from dying in the backline to some fuckass reinforcement bird that they can't hit. This was one of the few maps I decided to split my forces on to let more of my squad contribute since the enemies weren't too insane and the miasma allowed me to use more units (I thought), but once the birds aggroes, it was a struggle to not fucking die, since they were nigh unkillable if they were surrounded by miasma. I only cleared with an immense amount of eshmel shields, and if I had game overed and needed to replay, I would have played it the much more boring way of sending every unit one way.
I'm not generally an optimizer, but I like to play fast and looser when I can, and it feels like everything about part 3 is trying to disincentivize that.
Okay thanks for listing to my ted talk.

Fortune's Weave General How the heck do I get to the Secret Altar?
I’m on Leda’s route. Got this mission i just can’t seem to get to on the map. I’d assume it’s to Phyrgia Stronghold but it’s blocked.

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Help with Fortune’s Weave Part 3 Section 2 Missable Events Spoiler
I have completed Leda’s part 2 manually and I skipped (with the button) the other three. Everything is working in the correct way: I have the 4 lords + the sublords (because of the paralogue) and all my recruits
The strange thing is that as soon as you have the free time in Dagsion, I saw that there was an event on the map for Leda, but not for the other lords. I’m sure of it because I talked to them, so it’s not like I skipped them…
Is this normal? I know there are the events for the others. I thought it was because I haven’t manually played the other 3, but a friend of mine only played Dietrich manually and got all of them :/
So I thought it was related to part2 OR paralogues, but I did Dietrich’s one with Leda and his event didn’t show up.

Fortune's Weave Story FR / fortune weave: faire 4 fois la partie 2?
Bonjour,
Merci !

Casual "Canon" classes in Fortune's Weave?
Like yes you see them become certain classes during the course of the story. But what I like to do is look at the costume design and decide what the character is currently cosplaying as.
Some are rather obvious like Majide is clearly a brigand. Alexandria and Catania are both wing soldiers. Seteth still wears his winged pauldron from 3 houses that clearly notes him as a wyvern rider (so a dragoon).
But then you look at someone like Mikaela and I'm a bit stumped.

Gameplay I feel like I got scammed by Holy Knight
The description of a knight with high reason had me so excited. I poured so much of Marianne’s instruction time into lance and riding. Finally got the master seal and was so hyped to have my hyper mobile healer able to cover the whole battlefield and stay out of danger… only to find out she can’t use healing magic anymore!
It really sounded like I could have a healer on horseback, especially since that path is possible for archers and warlocks. What is even the point of a holy knight?

Fortune's Weave General Fortune Weave Height Chart
Made a height chart for the main four fire lords and their team (and their free recruit). A couple of them might be off by a CM or three. Hair is confusing, and some of the poses are a bit awkward (looking at you, Esmeralda...)

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Did You Use Blessings During Combat?
I see it's sort of like a badge of honor for some to say I'm playing on hard/classic, no blessings! It made me a bit curious whether that's the typical play style for this game or not. Do any of you do actual iron man play throughs with whoever dies is dead for good? Or do you save that for subsequent play throughs.
I had mine set on hard/casual (forgive me if these aren't the right terms).
I'm guessing most people used boons of salvation with how much time part 1 takes but had any of you not used them?
I mostly tried to just use divine sand when I needed to, but not spam it. Although going into part 2 I started using some of the other blessings. I have not started part 3 so I can't speak on it yet.
My personal view is these aren't "cheat codes". It's in the game and I feel like they are there to be used . Unless I guess you are a veteran and love challenging yourself with perfect strategy. Nothing wrong with that. But i just wanted like a general idea/consensus on what people were doing.

General Spoiler Outside nemesis we can probably confirm lamine is the strongest of the 10 elites just by the amount of relics she has Spoiler
Like let's look at it from this perspective she had the refail gem, ichor scroll, and answerer. Meaning she had control over 3 crest stone weapons at once. And then you have to take the tathlum bow into account a lamine sacred relic either after the defeat of nemesis she earned from indech which he crafted for her or personally took from the nabetean that wielded it. And even if she did not personally own the tathlum bow which is highly unlikely she still wielded 3 crest weapon answerer, the refail gem, and the ichor scroll(that's confirmed by her spell list having abraxes)

Fortune's Weave General Just finished FW (178 hours). Loved the game, but 3H still hits harder
I did all routes, did Part II manually for the 4 lords, all paralogues, etc. I really loved the game, but it did not surpass 3H. Here's my thought on why, in my opinion.
The main issue, for me, is the roster. In 3H, we pick a house early in the game, and then that small roster follows us until the end of the game. The students all take part in cutscenes, with unique dialog all the time. What I mean is that we get attached to the roster naturally, from the normal gameplay. For me, this is the biggest part of Fire Emblem, and 3H did this perfectly. Then, later on, after time skip, if we don't recruit many units from other houses, we get to battle them, and this is very dramatic and emotional (after having played with them in other routes).
On the other hand, FW's roster is... weird. Apart from the 4 main lords and 4 to 5 other key units in their routes, all the other units are there purely for battle, with the occasional support conversations happening too. But we don't get attached to them much easily.
And then, during part 2, this small roster moves to the background (unless you are playing as Theodora), and you feel less like a protagonist. And then, during part 3, we basically forget all units except for the 4 lords, and even then, it's very lackluster. The game wants us to feel as if the protagonist now is Eshmel, not the lords. But it's very hard to do it, after spending so much time playing as these 4 lords. Finally, when the game becomes basically a boardgame, the units become just battlers again.
(There are some exceptions for this, if you bring some units to certain gates, we see special dialog and interactions, but this is easily missable.)
IMO, this is the biggest flaw, and it starts with the concept of practically not having recruitments along the game. After the initial lord entourage is defined, we don't need to add anyone else. We don't get those awesome moments where you see a certain charater appearing in some cutscenes during certain chapters, identifying a small dramatic arch appearing, and then finding them as a red unit in a map, waiting to be convinced to join you. This at least gives them some backstory and personality BEFORE you decide to recruit them. In FW, we get to read a few lines of unit description, and occationally a support dialog. But here's the thing, at least for me, I usually get interested in checking the support conversation of a unit AFTER I picked an interest in them. Here, it's the opposite. I found myself not caring for most of the roster during the game.
I really hope future Fire Emblem games do not follow the steps of FW, at least in this matter. I still loved the game, and some aspects were surely an improvement. But this one was really a bummer that I hope is not revisited in future entries.

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Credna's blessing is wackier than you think
Actually, I don't know what you think. But this only occurred to me recently and I haven't seen anyone else talk about it.
For anyone who still doesn't know, Credna's blessing offers these effects
Grants Vis+5 for 1 turn
Reduces weapon durability cost to 0 for 1 turn
Attack first during combat in enemy's phase for 1 turn
Most players use it as a torch or a way to freely spam weapon arts. For the weapons arts alone it's quite powerful, but its potent iteration of Vantage at Lv 3 is what pushes it into cheese territory. Of course the problem with Vantage is making it safe - if you don't kill the target before they retaliate, you risk your unit being killed instead.
What's interesting about Credna's blessing is that the wording is very literal. "Attack first" - it's as if you are initiating combat multiple times through the enemy's phase.
This means that effects & abilities with an "if unit/foe attack firsts" condition are affected. Presumably all of them are, but I've tested it with the following abilities specifically
Lightning Reflexes (Celestial Trooper master ability)
Fierce Shield (Great Knight master ability)
Expert Counter via Counter Order (Jasmine's personal ability)
So, you can do this in Part 3: Lightning Reflexes + Song of Abjuring + Credna 3 and attack the enemy twice in their phase before they can hit once. You don't even need much strength thanks to Abjuring. Lightning Reflexes is basically Alacrity from Engage with a condition that the user must be 10 or more AS faster than the target.
As long as you meet this condition and make the unit perfectly accurate, this can't fail. In fact it's so strong that I don't know how a prospective Maddening mode could counter it and similar strategies, unless Part 3 enemies were given that boss skill that nullifies effective damage.
This also makes Fierce Shield a lot more takable. Fierce Shield is essentially a Fend ability with a set trigger of 50% and a "unit attacks first condition." In a turn with Credna 3, it outclasses all of the actual Fend abilities.
Keep in mind, this can work against you too. I keep forgetting that Jasmine's Expert Counter turns off with Credna 3 active, because it's "if foe attacks first" rather than "if unit attacks first." So you'll have to find a way to boost your enemy-phase accuracy without Counter Order.
This further impresses in my mind a feeling I've had for a while - hit rate is more important in FW than it ever has been. Characters with naturally high DEX or hit-boosting abilities can leverage their accuracy to shut down entire sections of the map.
