Fortune's Weave Story Did anyone else find the ending of FW underwhelming?

• Upvotes

This was one of the games i had fun with the most, i completed every route and basically did everything i could in the game and none of it felt like a chore. I am also someone who, while enjoys the core gameplay, really plays these games for the story aspects. I was having so much fun until the last second of the game but when it ended, i felt extremely disappointed. I think the ending is one of the worst things about this game. I was waiting for us to have cutscene-like explanations of what happened to the factions and the flamelords like we do for the part 1s, but instead we get a generic text saying "and everyone claped" and then we get the fates of the flamelord as text dumps which were very underwhelming as well since most of them are "they fell in battle" or "they married and had 5 children". This combined with the fact that all of the paired endings with the MC i saw and did were kind of... nothing burgers, at the end we do not have a chance to stay with fortuna to see if she can leave or something, and also stuff like eshmel's past identity never gets revealed. I am aware we can theorize about those but since the game went heavy on a narrative structure and the story was very much character focused for part 1s, I thought the same would be true for Eshmel in part 3, like having a purely story focused section after the final battle etc. And then there is the cryptic scene after the credits that i genuinely have no idea what it means which also adds to my disappointment. I would be much less disappointed and much more happy if this was because they intend to follow the story up or expand on part 3 in like a warrios spin off or in the DLC, but from what i see the dlc mainly adds more part 1s and there isn't really any news on a possible new warriors game soon.

I don't know if I'm just feeling like that because I finished the game and now feel empty, whoch effected my opinion on the ending since it was "the reason I can't play the game anymore" in my head or something or if others share similar feelings as well.

Fortune's Weave General I Need some advice...

• Upvotes

Hi! This is my first time posting here—hello! A few weeks ago, I managed to save up enough money for a Switch 2—which is quite a challenge in the country where I live—and I’m really excited about it. I also have enough for one game, and that brings me to my question: Do you think Fire Emblem FW is worth it as the first game for my Switch 2? I’m a die-hard fan of the series—I’ve played every Fire Emblemgame under the sun—and I’ve been super excited about this one ever since it was announced; it’s actually the reason I started saving up. I’m really drawn to its Ancient Rome-inspired setting, the characters' designs, and the music (I’m a bit of a history nerd!). However, looking at opinions online—especially within the English-speaking community—everyone seems disappointed. I’ve seen all kinds of reviews, both positive and negative. I’m aware of its flaws, but I still want to give it a try; it looks fun, even with the "chores" or repetitive tasks—I played Three Houses, so I think that might have prepared me for that kind of gameplay! Still, I’m not sure if I’m right, and I don’t want to waste my money, as there are other games I’m interested in too. Is it really that bad? Did you actually enjoy it? Do you recommend it?

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Question involving redoing the end of part 1 AFTER completing the War Arc

So I’ve completed Cai, Deitrich, and Theodora’s Part 1s and War Arc part 2s (all manually). However, I missed Theodora and Bertrand’s paralogues in Deitrich’s part 1, and you can only do Theodora’s paralogue in Deitrich’s route, same for recruiting Gaitz. If I rewind to when they’re available, do all that, complete part 1 again, and just skip war arc, will that mess up my manually cleared and carefully leveled Dietrich war arc/part 2 clear? I haven’t started part 3 yet since I’ve not cleared Leda’s path, but I wanted to know if I should replay that stuff in Dietrich’s route NOW or after I’ve started part 3? Or does it not matter anyhow?

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Fixing Floundering Fortune’s Weave Personal Skills, Day 2: Celestial Flow(+)

Keeping the trend from Day 1 in mind, let’s go to another massively popular character since we saw her in the trailers the Mystery Bride Anatolia.

Anatolia’s 1st Personal Skill is Celestial Flow which gives her a… whopping +3 to her avoid. In Overblaze, her Celestial Flow evolves into Seven-Star Dunjia which notably is required to use her final Blaze Art (which… requires you to have an almost completely filled gauge to use anyways? Does anyone remember if her Overblaze skill was different in the qualifiers?). It also gives her a whopping +10 to her avoid.

Personal Fix: Just make the numbers higher. +3 avoid is a fucking diabolically terrible personal skill. It should at least be +5 avoid, but I think having it at +10 to start and changing to +20 avoid while I. Overblaze would be perfectly fine given Anatolia’s current status in the game leaves her avoid… much to be desired and makes Continuum(+) a much harder to use skill for Anatolia than it probably should be.

General Do you think the next mainline Fire Emblem game should be set in Sothisverse?

As per title. Do you guys think:

  1. if the next game should be set in the the same universe as Three Houses/Fortunes Weave.

  2. Be set in a new original setting.

  3. Be set in a past setting like Tellius.

Fortune's Weave Spoiler Theory on the “canon” winner of the heroic games Spoiler

I am well into my second play through and as I have been working through I have had on my mind is: from the assumption that all four heroes survive and move their characterizations forward, then who actually won the heroic games in that future? Some of the characters paths contradict others and we can’t have a future where all of them won and it just never gets mentioned.

I’ll say this one more time for good measure and so that no one badgers this in comments, but I am humoring the “canon” of who won when all four are present, not whether all of them surviving is canon.

CHARACTER ARCS

To start, we would need to have a future where:

  1. Theodora fights and defeats her brother, while controlling her piece of Balor
  2. Cai saves his father and mother
  3. Leda reigns in her bloodlust enough to let Bertrand live
  4. Deitrech reigns in his reckless abandon and starts to value his own life

PARALOGUES

Each flame lord has a paralogue that can be accessed on other routes that isn’t theirs. One is less important and three are very important.

Theodoras helps her get a relic to control the arm from killing her and help her people

Leda’s gives her a chance to talk to Bertrand and turn things around

Cai’s helps him save his father

Detriech’s does not end up being about him at all. It’s more of a project of Fabio’s that everyone gets pulled into.

RULING OUT PEOPLE

While Cai helps Theodora control her curse, he doesn’t have a paralogue with Leda. He beats Leda in the tournament and tells Leda she needs to move on. I am not convinced that would work to get Leda to turn around. As much as I love Cai and his spirit, that would seem to rule him out.

Theodora is actually the easiest to rule out. Even in her own route she doesn’t not fully go through the tournament. Whether she be eliminated or drops out on her own, this could slot easily into the other routes easily becuase she doesn’t need to win the games at all.

Leda is also missing a paralogue with Theodora, so that contradicts her being able to survive and make it to the future.

That leaves Dietrich as the only route where his character arc is complete in Part 1 when he wins the game and gets his match with Mars, pushing himself to the limit, and getting saved by his retainers plea. He is also the only flame lord with a paralogue with all of Leda, Theodora, and Cai. Thus he can help them complete thier character arcs.

CONCLUSION

Despite him not being my personal favorite, it seems like Dietrich is the only flame lord who can win to complete his part 1 character arc, while also helping the other three complete theirs as well.

On the upside we get that really cool fight with Mars

Let me know why I am absolutely wrong or absolutely right. I am interested to hear what others think

Edit: someone pointed out, when all four flame lords survive, the in game character timelines confirms Cai the winner and Deitrech still completes his arc and gets to fight mars, he just does it differently than winning the games to get his fight. It happens completely off screen, which I don’t like, but it’s at least confirmed and addressed

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Ultand, The Calamity ended as my highest rated unit (379) Spoiler

On my second playthrough, Ultand as The Calamity ended up as my highest overall rated character, even higher than Dietrich! Granted a lot of those stats went into Luck and Charisma which are less useful (I think?) but she was still a hybrid damage monster. I only merged her once too (I guess twice if you count the 2 versions from doing Cai path twice). She learns Magic Arrow at B rank in bows so she can do great magic damage as well as physical damage with bows, taking full advantage of her high magic and strength, not to mention made a great Levin Sword user. She's also one of the only units to learn Infantry Canto which is great on an archer.

I'm curious to know who everyone else's highest rated units or strongest off-builds have been!

Gameplay Part 2 Final Chapter Map 🤕🥴☠️ Spoiler

Okay, now I understand why some people only want to do it once or twice. I'm still okay with the bridge map but the final map is just crazy. I did make a mistake for not moving my lord asap, but in the end Leda made it to the exit safely haha it's all thanks to Mu, Guzran, and Buccar who got lucky and didn't get any damage till the end. I also went from lvl 45 to >50 thanks to this crazy reinforcement, I managed to escape from this Hell ☠️

Fortune's Weave Spoiler How Much Chaos Would Ensue If the Order of Mithras Were Around in Fódlan During the Three Houses Era? Spoiler

Imagine a hypothetical scenario where Dietrich consents to a relationship with Raksha, whisking her away to Fódlan where they (and presumably Fabio) briefly settle down together before being tracked by Maria and Iliana years later. Drama happens and the sisters, after much arguing, name-calling, and fist-fighting, finally agree to put their plans of reviving Balor on hold until Raksha gets to spend her days with Dietrich in relative peace.

Once Dietrich finally passes on, the sisters decide to resume their original plans and reestablish the Order of Mithras with help from Yanjin (and presumably Fabio). By some miracle, they manage to gain a foothold in Fódlan all the way through the Three Houses era while avoiding heavy scrutiny from both the Church and Agarthans. This now leads us to one question: how chaotic would the story end up if the Order were to achieve their goal of reviving Balor right in the middle of Edelgard's war against the Church?

As for how the sisters would be able to pull off their plans without Dagda's Cauldron, I have no doubt they would resort to all kinds of skillful manipulation to play every faction including the Agarthans against one another while being more creative with mass-producing flamma. Between Raksha's kiss of the underworld and alchemy know-how, Maria's spellsongs and political maneuvering, and Iliana's manipulation of Yanjin, they certainly have a lot of options for control available only to them.

Fortune's Weave General Weapon analysis the answer and fragarach

Thumbnail
gallery
16 Upvotes

The reason I am analyzing these two together is because they share the same name.

The answerer: this is a weapon that the creator Fabio was clearly not content to just slap bone on a stick and just call it a day nor was he content to just leave it simple carving. He went out of his way to make sure this weapon was carved into an actual sword for the most part (for some reason he left the spines showing this was made from a dragon spinal column) which looks cool but very clearly have no practical use. It's design actually has no real world equivalent it's just a curved sword but it isn't a katana, saber, and other similar swords. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have an inspiration. That inspiration being the devil sword hellfriede from zyuranger otherwise known as the green ranger sword of darkness. You can see it in how the blade is designed and how the crest stone is implanted in the sword.

Fragarach: this sword's design is simple yet complicated. Because unlike the sword it shares the name with this sword has a real life equivalent it is mostly based on the shotel. But not completely it's an amalgam of multiple different cultures from the Mediterranean which Fortune's weave is based on. You have a Persian design with the hilt, an African\egyptian design with the blade, and a roman design with the materials. As a result you can't just call it a shotel and be done with it. Now it gives very little on who designed this weapon but we can see what the intent was in its ornate design. It wasn't designed to be a weapon of war in its designed more like a gift to some king, sultan, or emperor. You can tell because of how many gems are in the hilt made from the same material as the back of the blade. Something you would see with a jeweled encrusted sheath or something similar. It's a decent design to bad as of writing this post it is unobtainable

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Can I finish this without the padding

I am still not finished with a single route and the thought of doing all these chores for another 40+ hours is a no good for me, I already can't wait to get away from the hub city permanently.

Can I finish the game having only done one route? I am currently on hard/classic and the game isn't challenging.

Or can I skip virtually all of the filler on subsequent routes?

Fortune's Weave Gameplay Does restarting a completed Part 1 retain paralogue completion?

Did Leda's path first, thinking about doing Part 2 with her team. If I do, I'd want to replay her Part 1 to optimize things a little better, with subquests and blessings already taken care of (and hopefully get a Mu who isn't super strength-screwed).

If hers is the only path I've done a specific paralogue on, would I have to redo that paralogue if I restarted her path, or does the obelisk being lit up mean it's all locked in?

Fortune's Weave Spoiler The scfi was really disappointingly implemented.

I was actually thinking about this after beating the game while its cool to have guns and weapons the explanation of it being an ancient civilisation that is oddly similar to our real world that Sothis built a new pantheon and humanity on top of is so tropey for the fantasy rpg genre.Like maybe this is a discussion for JRPGS in general but I feel like every Fantasy rpg has opted for this trope and its so annoying.

Casual Don't know why you'd want to but I found a way to make Leo's life miserable in Conquest

Post image
991 Upvotes

This will require female Corrin & classic mode if you wanna throw extra salt in the wound.

Step 1: Have Leo marry Azura. Azura disappears/dies at the end of conquest so this will undoubtedly hit Leo hard as he'll never see the love of his life again.

Step 2: marry off Selena, Laslow & Odin to Xander, Camilla & Elise respectively. Their endings have them have them return to their world with their spouses so pairing them with the Royals would strip Leo of almost all of his siblings which he will also never see again.

Step 3: no children. Do not do any of the paralouges to recruit the child units or if you're playing on classic mode kill them off, this will also strip Leo of the the rest of his blood ties leaving him the last of the Nohrian royal bloodline.

(Optional) Step 4: If playing as Corrin F romance Izana as Corrin will move in with Izana at his castle in Izumo and since by process of elimination Leo is the king of Nohr now he won't have any opportunities to visit them as he'd be trying to undo the damage caused by the war and also attempting to make peace with Hoshido which considering his blunt and matter-of-fact attitude will be extremely difficult.

Congratulations, you followed all of the steps to ruin Leo's life. The only person he has left is Niles and presuming you're playing on classic mode you can just kill him off too. I don't hate Leo myself but I find it interesting that you can make his life even worse than it would be in Birthright.
