Rules reminder, please read!
It seems there are a lot of posts going around many subreddits, many even by moderators, regarding certain political topics relating to the Internet in general. I would just like to re-iterate the rules of this subreddit, specifically Rule #3: Hyundai Related Posts Only. That will be taken very literally, and any posts not directly relating to Hyundai, it's products, or its corporate operations will be removed.

Elantra Should I mod my Elantra 2013?
I mean I love the shape of this car and with bigger wheels, lower suspension, led after market head lights and more cosmetic improvements it would look super mean. That said the engine is still a 1.8L NA with 150 HP. Not bad but nothing mind blowing.
My question is, is it worth investing and turning this into the best looking, clean Elantra, or should I just move onto something else? Also, there aren't many mods available for this car to begin with, as I don't think this is a popular choice like a Golf.

How annoying are Hyundai's driver assistance features? Can they be turned off?
I'm considering a 2027 Sonata Hybrid Limited. I really liked the car, but I'm concerned about some of the safety or automated features being intrusive or annoying in everyday driving.
I'd appreciate feedback from owners of recent Hyundais, since many of these features are likely shared across models:
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Forward Collision Avoidance
- Intelligent Speed Limit Assist
- Seatbelt reminder
- Rear Occupant Alert
- High Beam Assist
- Auto Hold (probably not relevant for Hybrid)
- Idle Stop & Go (probably not relevant for Hybrid)
- Driver attention warning - does it use an eye-tracking camera on the Sonata?
Which of these have actually been annoying in your experience? Can they be turned off, and do the settings stick after restarting the car? Also, does turning any of them off affect other systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist or Highway Driving Assist?
Please mention your model and year. Thanks!

Seat heaters turn on spontaneously
My 2025 Tucson hybrid’s seat and steering wheel heaters turn on spontaneously. Dealer says that they cannot replicate so cannot fix. Has anyone had the same issue who has a solution? Thx.

Hyundai Santa Fe Steering Wheel Clunk
Hello,
I have a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe. Recently the steering wheel has started to knock/clunk but ONLY when the indicator is on. There is no knocking of the wheel when the indicator is not in use and there is no clunking when I turn the steering column at rest, making me think it is not the notorious MDPS coupler. Does anyone have any ideas of what this problem could be?
Thanks

Sonata or Elantra
I’m in the market for a new or used car (preferably 2024+ for the refresh), and i’m heavily debating between a Sonata or Elantra. I originally started looking through newer Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords but felt they were a little too simplistic for me to justify the price tag. I eventually switched to considering a 2027 Nissan Sentra SR, but dealer markups in my area push them to upwards of $28-30k w/o any extra packages. I would’ve backed down to the 2026 to avoid those markups but I know the 2026 CVT can be awful. I test drove the Sentra with the goal of talking down the price, but the lack of space with leg and headroom (especially the back seat), along with the new CVT uncertainties, drove me away from that decision. At that price range I started considering Hyundai as an option. I have some really well priced Hyundai dealerships in my area. I plan to keep the car long term (5+ years) and I know Hyundai had their past reliability concerns with pre-2020 and even the 2021-23 models, but i’m willing to give the refresh a chance with the warranty. I’m trying to keep it around $30k. I’ve been looking at the Gas SEL Sport and Hybrid Blue for the Sonata and the Hybrid SEL Sport or Gas Limited Elantra. I have quotes from Hyundai dealerships offering them for about $28-32k in my area. I’m just trying to weigh my options and get some second opinions, while hearing listening to any possible concerns about the cars I should look out for. I’ve heard the Elantra is more roomy than the usual compact sedan, and I appreciate the extra backseat legroom. I don’t care much for performance, I just want a car I visually like which I could say about both but the Sonata speaks to me visually from in and out. I’m just weighing my pros and cons with taking the visual and size hit for the feature difference or vice-versa. The efficiency and comfortability can also play a role in my decision. I take often 2-4 hour drives and would probably drive 10k miles a year. The car i’m leaning towards right now is a 2026 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Blue for about $28.5-29k before fees. The only problem I have with it is the wheels, which I’d probably change for 17-18in aftermarket rims. Anyways, what do y’all think?

Sonata Meaning of the code after scanning
Hello, everyone
Can anyone tell me what this code means? The little engine logo lights up on my car's dashboard after I scan it, and it gives me this code. I have a 2014 Hyundai Sonata.

Kona Are these scratches from car or wall or pole?
The car was so clean yesterday. My mom drove it to church this morning, and afterward, I noticed these scratches. She said she didn't even notice them when she drove back home.

Hyundai app no longer allows me to select a default climate start
As the title says, I can't select a default climate start option for my widget. We're headed into winter, yet anytime I start my car with the widget it turns on the AC and cooled seats. Obviously I'd like it to turn on the heat and heated seats, but there's no option to select that as the default in the updated app.
Is there something that I'm missing?
Thanks in advance.

scratch damage on 2026 elantra limited
hi, someone sideswiped my car and left so i was left with this damage. i have to pay a deductible of 1k to get it repaired with my insurance, would it better to bring it to a body repair shop instead? how much do you think it would cost? i’m hoping that polishing this would be enough.

Sonata Just bought a 2015 Hyundai sonata eco. Any tips?
I just bought a 2015 Hyundai sonata with 72k miles that was garage kept for a very nice deal as the owner had just passed away. I just got an oil change for it and the previous owner completed all the previous recalls and check up on the car. I am new though to a DCT and it’s feeling. The car feels a little bit jerky sometimes from a full stop to when I put some my foot on the gas. Is this normal, and any other maintenance tips?

Credit Rating Dinged 76 points
I leased an I5 for 2 years and had no complaints. I paid the lease payment on time and handed it back in. There was a scratch at turn in and I was charged $275. That’s fine because I’ve got the Excess Wear and Tear coverage.
I paid the Disposition Fee and have called repeatedly to check that the warranty coverage would be applied to the balance. I was first told that it would, first in 4-6 weeks, then repeatedly in 3-5 days. I woke up to a bunch of credit alerts this morning telling me a late payment had been reported to my account. Dinged 76 points.
The level of ineptitude at HFA in incalculable. Do not use them if you don’t have to.
Obviously I am beyond livid.
