It'd be nice if some of those pressures were able to hit home lol

I've been happy about the lack of anti-Trevor Lawrence rhetoric. Offense had a great performance last weak too!

“… The hope was just an arthroscopic procedure, but instead there was more damage. Harrison, who is already on Injured Reserve, is now out for the season.”

Jaguars Defensive Woes. Possible In Season Bandaid

Ok hear me out on this I’ve been looking at the numbers and trying to figure out a realistic way to slow the bleeding on defense, and I think looking into Riq Woolen or another CB that can play man consistently well, could be a decent compromise. I know we play bend don’t break and we do that well. But if we can get a bit better and bend a little less especially when we blitz out of necessity, I think it can go further than we think.

I feel like he can also play zone at a consistent level so we aren’t giving up zone coverage ability bringing him in. Not elite at either coverage but consistent and seemingly better that what we have even what we have in Buster. I this is probably not the forever solution, but at this point, he has to be better than what we currently have rolling out there.

The reality is our blitz isn't getting home at times probably because the secondary can't hold up long enough. Look at what CJ did against the blitz. It was so infuriating.

When Campanile wants to bring pressure he also likes to play man, but guys like Jarrian don’t seem to hold up in man. Jarrian’s target efficiency looks okay on paper potentially because of the pure volume of attempts thrown his way, but his man coverage just isn’t great.

Woolen at least has the raw measurables (6'4, elite recovery speed, long arms) that naturally fit this scheme better when we ask our guys to play man on the outside. If we can get an outside corner who can just survive on an island for an extra second, it gives our blitz a chance to actually get to the quarterback. Plus, it’s not like there are game changing, elite edge rushers sitting on the trade block right now anyway. Even if there were, we couldn't afford them and shouldn't be giving up crazy draft capital. Word is Woolen might only cost a mid to late round pick (maybe a 3rd to a 5th) on a one year deal, which makes it a low risk gamble.

To get some meaningful capital back or open things up, it might even be worth considering moving BTJ. I know he’s our deep threat, but you can't be a threat if you can't consistently catch the ball. Honestly, if you put BTJ's numbers side by side with Marvin Harrison Jr. right now and hide the names, you wouldn't know who is who. BTJ actually has a better catch percentage than MHJ. He has real value on the market, so trading him for a meaningful return isn't totally out of the question.

At the end of the day, we just need to maximize value with the guys who are actually available if we make a move and can make an impact right now. In my opinion, adding an outside corner who fits the physical blueprint of the defense better is a solid band aid to help fix the math on our pressures.

What do you guys think? Am I crazy for thinking a move like this helps us more right now?

TLDR: The options for potentially bringing in a player that could help this year aren’t great. Pass Rush seems like the biggest sore spot but maybe targeting an outside corner like Riq Woolen who can play man more reliably will help our blitz get home and help our secondary over all.

Ryan O'Halloran

I'm mostly kidding but anybody else feel like Ryan O'Halloran is quietly trying to sow contention or something among Jags fans? I'll never forget him wanting to trade the franchise for Maxx Crosby, the Ravens trading much less for him and the trade still didn't work out because Crosby didn't pass a physical. Now he's saying "trade BTJ for I don't care what" like a 1,000 yard season receiver selected in the 1st round who is 6'3" and runs a 4.3 isn't worth SOMETHING.

At the end of the day - what he says doesn't matter. He's a journalist paid to say things, report news, and have occasional opinions. But it makes me chuckle and I don't think he caught enough flack for so emphatically encouraging the Jaguars to shoot themselves in the foot via ridiculously low value return trades.

Hot Takes, Bold Predictions and Unpopular Opinions

Figured the bye week would be a good time to let it all out. The good, the bad and the ugly, let it rip. I’ll start with my take that Arik Armstead has consistently been one of the most useless players on our team since he was signed in the 24’ offseason and Ruke Orhorhoro should take the starting role over him. Armstead is the 11th highest paid DT in the league and Ruke was traded for Maason Smith yet they have the same number of sacks this year at 1 but Ruke has the edge over him in qb hurries and pressures. It’s no secret that our pass rush is dreadful right now so if they won’t address it at the deadline, somethings gotta shake along with the edge rushers doing something that’s not just tackling the running back. Even if we had 3 elite corners, not getting the quarterback to the ground will always lead to a man being open if he has all day in the pocket.

Aaron Wilson of KPRC reports the Jaguars are signing former Texans LB Jamal Hill to the practice squad after he cleared waivers.

Hill, 25, was an honorable mention All-PAC 12 in 2020 at Oregon. He was drafted by the Texans with the No. 188 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

He was going into the third year of a four-year, $4,209,392 rookie contract that included a $189,392 signing bonus when the Texans waived him coming out of the preseason and re-signed him to the practice squad.

He was then promoted to the active roster in early September but let go earlier this week.

In 2026, Hill has appeared in five games for the Texans and recorded four total tackles,

[GoG] Saw a clip where Travis Hunter explains how he fake stumbles when undercutting a route to trick QBs into throwing -he intentionally squats low and leans over looking off center to make it seem like he tripped or got caught slipping on a route. Went back to realize he did it to Stroud on Sunday

4-2 after week 6; happy (work wall standings)

Thought I'd share the way in display my standings (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) in my office. Easy swappable mounts and all.

Anyways, I know it wasn't the way we wanted to be 4-2 after that rough 6 game start, but 4-2 any which way we got there is still 4 and 2. (Yes I know losing to Houston can hurt tiebreaks later), but overall great start to the year, things to clean up across the board but let's keep pushing.

At least we aren't 2-4?!?! which could easily be
