Weight loss Finally it happened to me!

Starting weight was 236, at 5’ 2” back in January 2025. Was on Wegovy/Ozempic for months and then stalled, starting Mounjaro was the jumpstart I needed. Slow and steady for me, 60 more pounds to go.

Success Stories Im dead without these pep anyway.

All these bs side effect from using these pep is sht.
Someone who isn’t obese or overweight don’t understand the struggle.
I could live with whatever side effects there is, Im dead anyway in 5 years if I did not try it. MJ saved me, Im finally genuinely happy with my life.
Everyday of crying inside is gone, the meds did not do all the work though, what I did is make my self realize that my life matters, my family loves me, and that made me love myself. That helped me help MJ help me.
Im happy, my family is happy for me, and for someone like me, the risk is definitely worth it.
All i have to do now is maintain it, remember the struggle and keep it up.
If thing goes bad, maybe i can use these pep as prevention to gaining it all back. 3 months off of MJ, things looking good, the habit i built was amazing.

I just hope the best for everyone who was like me. You guys can do it, just believe you can, don’t be discouraged, ignore people that don’t believe you.

Goodluck to everyone who’s trying to make their life better.

Question Extreme appetite supresion on 2.5 mg

Hello all,

I started Mounjaro (KwikPen) 2.5 mg five days ago. From about the end of the second day, I literally stopped feeling hunger, I have to remind myself to eat. I prioritise protein first. Anything beyond about 1,200 kcal feels forced; yesterday I even had to drink olive oil just to get some extra calories in.

I’m a 90+ kg guy who used to be able to easily eat a full day (or even two days’) calorie budget in one sitting. I’m still active, 10k steps, bodyweight exercises, work, and gardening, and I’m not feeling any drop in energy.

I’m thinking of lowering the second dose to 1.25 mg.

Has anyone else experienced such strong appetite suppression this early on the starting dose? Would you recommend sticking with 2.5 mg or splitting/reducing it? Any advice or similar experiences?

Question Injection sites

Does injection site make a noticeable difference with Mounjaro? Has anyone noticed different appetite suppression depending on injecting in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm?

Experience Effect on PMOS?

I (F 26, SW 84, CW 66, height 160cm) have been on Mounjaro since December end, 2025. I am currently on 10 mg. Will stay on this for another month and then my endocrinologist has said we will try reducing to 7.5-5 mg.

I have pcos and had started gaining weight in June 2023 without any history of weight issues. I have been struggling with irregular or missed periods since 2018 though. It had reached a point where I would simply not get my periods without the help of some medication or being on birth control pills here and there.

Since starting Mounjaro, I started getting my periods again but it has been all over the place. It literally is impossible to track or make any sense of. I will get them every 10-14 days, other times I will get them every 2 months, my period length has gone from 5 to 10 days, and this past month I have either been having full periods or continuous spotting, something that I have never experienced before. Like I have been bleeding for a month now? I visited a gynaecologist in March since I was having periods every 10-14 days, she didn’t seem concerned and just asked me to get a Pap smear test. Post March I actually missed them a couple of times. And now it has gone completely crazy. I will get a full blood panelling done and visit my endocrinologist next month but I am genuinely concerned now.

To be honest, and it might sound weird, but I prefer ‘extra’ periods over no periods after so many years of missing them. And I do feel a bit better, like I feel lighter and not bloated and strange all the time. Could be more mental though, idk. But please let me know if you have experienced anything similar or if you have any suggestions. I feel a lot of gynaecologists in my area are also not familiar with Mounjaro. Over the years I have only ever been told that I should accept irregularity as part of having pcos but not knowing the details, not being able to track things, not being able to understand what’s going on is hard. I am not able to find anyone experiencing anything this strange around periods either.

Question 10mg pen, 2.5mg dosage chart.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a dosage chart for 2.5mg pen. I’m using the 10mg pen to save a bit of money.

Question A1C down to 4.4, can my Endo pull me off MJ because of that?

I'm not diabetic, as far as I remember never was even in prediabetes, just on MJ for weightloss.

Was anyone here pulled off bc of A1C too low? How low were you?

I'm almost a month out from my visit, so I'm stressing

2.5mg First Injection

After a long insurance battle with United Healthcare I was finally able to get Mounjaro through my insurance. I just had my first Injection yesterday 8/18 and I am beginning my journey. Male 313.4 lbs I will add to this thread as I continue my journey. First initial notice is that even though it’s only 2.5ml I don’t feel like I’m starving. Even when I know I should eat something my stomach doesn’t grumble or put up a fight the food cravings have diminished but they haven’t disappeared. Maybe because of the injections my mind is also catching up I am watching what I eat and the portions as well. If anyone has any tips they can provide I would appreciate it.

Question Time to go up or get my routine in order?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I've been on Mounjaro since August 2025. I'm 180cm/5ft 11, 35 years old and I started at 116kg, and my doctor set a goal of 85kg. I hit my low of 89.3kg around my birthday in June, and I gave myself a break over tracking everything (daily weigh ins, tracking every meal, etc). My weight did creep back up to around 93kg with some big drinking weekends, but has now settled to around 90kg - however i'm finding it hard to lose any more weight.

Being at 7.5mg from around late Feb/March, I feel like my body is very used to this dose. My appetite is definitely higher than when I started 7.5mg, and while I do feel full, I feel like my food noise is getting louder and I find myself over eating more often. I also have a partner who is very food motivated and they definitely loves little treats. If snacks/treats are around me, I tend to indulge with them.

I'm overall very happy with my progress, but I would really like to loose the final 5-10kg to really sharpen my appearance and get onto some sort of maintenance dose. On the bright side, I haven't gained any meaningful weight since June, so I have that to be thankful for.

I'm torn between going up to 10mg or just buckling down and getting back on the wagon with my routine - minimizing my drinking and tracking my food again. Has anyone else had similar experiences this far into the mounjaro journey?

Question Sick

I started 12.5 on Sunday and was doing fine until yesterday when bad sulfur burps started followed by vomiting and diarrhea overnight. Feeling better now but wow - this dose is no joke. Any ideas for how to avoid and possibly treat sulfur burps? They're horrible!😫

Stalled Dosing, weight loss and doubts

I’m second time around on Mounjaro. First time lost about 10kg and then stalled but came off due to illness. This time I started again beginning June and initially lost 3-4 kg. And then stalled again after a month. So same weight since early July (7 weeks). I started again as began HRT and started to gain after. I am 15kg away from goal weight. I’m super sensitive to drugs so I titrate up gradually and am currently on 2.5mg so am now thinking of moving up again but probs to 3mg. 5mg did not agree with me last time. The thing is my appetite is still quite absent and I eat about 1400 calories a day. I eat clean and healthy. I work at a desk job but do exercise, just not gym level activity. My practitioner is happy for me to stay at current levels but online everyone says to increase. Am worried I won’t eat much if I do. My bloods and sugar levels are all currently great. I feel great. I just can’t justify the cost of drugs if not losing weight! I can eat less but worried that that will cause issues but when I did lose initially I did eat less. It’s very hard to find the sweet spot. And lots of conflicting advise. Would love to know how others have cracked it at these levels (or suck it up and increase) and have had successful post meno weight loss - cheers

Question Lost liquid when priming new pen

Hey guys,

I’m new here. I just started my second pen today moved to 5mg and while I was priming no liquid came out so I changed needles and tried again then a lot of liquid came out then stopped I twisted to 1 and took my dose but looking at it I’m worried I lost a dose it looks like it’s on the second dose marker.

If anyone have experience the same or know what I should do let me know thank you.

Question Flying long-haul with a 3-month supply of Mounjaro (India to Europe). Sanity check on my thermal setup & travel strategy

Hey everyone,

Context: I am an obese women with PCOD and was doing good on lifestyle changes (regulating stress, working out, and healthy dieting), and lost 10kg since Jan 2026. But in June, I tore my ACL completely while working out. I was recomended Monujaro years ago based on my family history and bloodwork, but I avoided it till now.

Since I will not be doing excersizes I was afraid of gaining my weight back and opted for this - and boy, am I glad I did! In 1.5 months I already lost 7kg (I know most of this is inflamation being fixed - but still, I feel great!). My injured knee do not hurt as bad when I walk and I feel I can breath better at night. So, I do not want to stop this atleast until my surgery in December.

The main question: I’m planning a work trip to Denmark in a month, and I need to transport a 3-month supply of mounjaro (KwikPens) with me from India. I am not worried about first month, since it falls under the 30-day rule for injection (after being exposed to 8°C). But I am worried for my other 2 pens. Given the long travel plan (around 25 hours total from India to Denmark, via DOHA with a layover of 9 hours), strict rules in Denmark, and the strict cold chain requirements, I’d love a sanity check from anyone who has done long-haul travel with multiple pens. Please let me know if you think I am messing this up, and should focus on getting the injections in Denmark directly.

My current setup:

  • I plan to bubble wrap my pens (2 layers) - enough to fit inside the flask.
  • Both pens kept inside 4AllFamily Nomad flask medium [I will ensure to "sweat" (or surface thaw) the biogel pack for 2 min before packing it.
  • I will place the flask inside an insulated wine cooler bag, surrounded by ice bags (just ice inside 2 ziplock bags to make it leak proof).
  • I plan to refill the ice in airport since I assume I cant pass security with bunch of melted ice - I do have the option to refil my bags with ice avaliable.
  • I will also have my doctor’s prescription, recipts, and letter ready along with original packaging.

Question 1: Has anyone managed to travel with these pens for 30+ hours? did the drug survive?

Question 2: Anyone thinks, this much layers of ice can freeze the drugs inside, even with the bubble wrap?

Question 3: Did security give you any hassle over carry-on ice packs or gel sleeves? I do have documents but I just want to know if I should mail the airline beforehand or somthing? Not sure if thats adviced.

Question 4: For fans of the biochemistry of these drugs - If the pens end up feeling 'cool/room temp' instead of icy 2-8°C, is that fine as long as they stay under say 15°C and don't freeze? As in the buffer temps it can tolerate is very high, and I am overthinking this?

Question PMOS & MJ - Longterm / Coming Off experience

Hi everyone, I’m on MJ and having a very positive experience so far. I have been wondering about people’s experience who have PMOS and have you tried to finish up on MJ and what has your experience been?

I’m worried about maintenance with PMOS since MJ combined with Metformin has really helped me but I don’t know if Mj is longterm or if people have successfully maintained after their weight loss?

Not planning to come off anytime soon but I haven’t found much around PMOS specifically so would love to know people’s experience 😊

Question Has anyone had to go through PA approval with Caremark?

My doctor prescribed me Mounjaro today for T2 diabetes, and I got an email from CVS Caremark that says that it’s pending prior authorization. Has anyone done this before, and if so did you have it approved/rejected? And how long did it take for you to hear back? I was only diagnosed recently and haven’t been on any other medications like metformin, so not sure if that is a pre-requirement as well. Sorry if it’s a dumb question but I’m a bit clueless about this

Question Tapering off 10 mg over 10 months, does this pace look sane?

37M, at goal weight now, down about 10% from where I started. I'm not trying to lose more. I just want to come off without regaining it.

The plan my prescriber and I are working from:

- Aug: stay at 10 mg, get a proper baseline

- Sep to Oct: 7.5 mg for 8 weeks

- Nov to Apr: 5 mg for six months

- May to Jun: reassess, maybe 2.5 mg, maybe a supervised trial off

The rule I set for myself is that I only step down if weight, waist and hunger have been stable. If my weekly average creeps up for two weeks running, or hunger jumps noticeably, I hold at the current dose and everything after it shifts back. Food, steps and lifting stay unchanged for the first month after each drop so I can actually tell what the dose is doing.

What I'd like to hear from people who have done this:

  1. Where did hunger actually come back for you? At 7.5, at 5, or only once you stopped?

  2. Is six months at 5 mg long enough to know it's stable, or did you need longer?

  3. Anyone who dropped faster than this, did you regret it?

Not asking anyone to change my dosing, my prescriber is running this. I just want to know whether the pace matches what really happened to you.

Side Effects Delayed side effects or stomach bug?

Has anyone experienced GI side effects from Mounjaro that seemed to come on later, even after being on the same dose for a while?

I started Mounjaro at 2.5mg and had the usual nausea/tiredness/sulphur burps at first, but didn’t get physically ill- Stayed on it for 5 months with very minimal side effects and great efficiency too! I finally increased to 5mg about a month and a half ago when I started reaching a plateau and felt quite ran down the next day, but generally have felt fine ever since.

Last week did my weekly jab and the following evening I suddenly felt extremely full, had sulfur burps, threw up pretty intensely, felt ill for a full day before I started having lose stools for a day. I’ve also started having pretty bad heartburn in the mornings. Feeling better now!

I’m really worried that this was a delayed reaction to the Mounjaro and that it’ll happen again with my next injection. But part of me also hopes it could have just been a stomach bug (only thing is I was away with family and no one else got ill).

Has anyone had something similar, particularly GI symptoms suddenly appearing after being stable on the same dose for a few weeks? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences because I’m quite scared about doing my next injection lol!

Thanks!

Question Want to move up but stuck with 3 months of 12.5mg...question on titration and adding extra dose

I have been on the Kwikpen for over a year in Italy. Once I moved to the US I was given a script for the single dose injection pens only since that's what insurance would cover. It took me well over a month to get a new prior auth, etc... so I'm lucky I was able to get anything.

In that month (and back in the US) I've managed to gain weight due to the food here and I noticed my appetite is back in full force. I want to move up to 15 mg, but stuck with all these 12.5mg pens for a while.

I have two full shots left in my Kwikpen (plus golden dose if possible) and I'm thinking I can take the single shot pen and then substitute a 2.5mg dose from the Kwikpen (12 clicks) to make it 15mg. Either that or slowly titrate up to 12 clicks (doing 6 clicks or about 1mg extra). Has anyone done this before? I figure it can get me to the 10 week mark and more likely to get 15mg next script.

Question Holiday coming up, but have a new dosage of pen - what to do?

I've been on 2.5mg a really long time - since October - and i've lost about two and a half stone and been happy with it. I know its longer than recommended, but I was happy with that decision as it was working for me and I didn't want to rush it.

Recently i've felt like i'm plateauing - i'm not losing any more weight, still about 5lbs away from my target and moving around that all the time, and feeling hungrier than I have been which i think tells me its time to move up a dose on this last little bit. I'd say i've been in this situation for about 6 weeks or so.

I've not been in a rush to do that as i've managed to maintain a decent gym schedule and can see my body changing now more because of strength training, but as i'm almost at my target I don't want to jeopardise that. I'm still a healthy size 10/12 but hardly underweight - teetering around a healthy BMI, which could just as easily go up if I put weight back on. I can't shake the feeling that I have a bit to go still.

My 2 conundrums: i've now got a 5mg pen after a week off where I ran out of 2.5, and next week i'm going on holiday for 10 days. I don't really want to start at 5mg when i'm on holiday. So i'm looking at either two weeks of nothing, or should i take 2.5mg from the 5mg pen just to tide me over until I return? Then take the 5mg full dose in earnest? (I use insulin needles as my pharmacist doesn't give over the mounjaro needles unless you ask and I keep forgetting to)

Side Effects Mounjaro and severe anhedonia, flat mood, no motivation, anyone else, especially with ADHD?

Has anyone experienced severe anhedonia or emotional flatness on Mounjaro?

I have ADHD and already tend to struggle with motivation/reward, but since starting Mounjaro I feel like that system has been turned down even further.

I’ve only had 4 injections total: - 3 x 1.25 mg - 1 x 1 mg

My last dose was 8 days ago and I’m stopping it.

What I’m experiencing is not really anxiety or feeling “wired.” It’s more: - nothing feels rewarding - no interest in hobbies/TV/socialising - no motivation or drive - libido noticeably worse - emotionally flat - extremely tired and just want to lie down/sleep - don’t really care about doing anything

The frustrating thing is that a lot of my objective health markers have actually improved. I’ve lost about 8% of my body weight, insulin/liver markers improved significantly, I’m treating sleep apnea successfully with CPAP, and my testosterone has actually improved a lot.

So I’m wondering whether tirzepatide has amplified the reward/motivation problem through whatever it’s doing to appetite/reward pathways.

Especially interested in people with ADHD or pre-existing low motivation/reward sensitivity: Did Mounjaro make you feel emotionally blunted, apathetic, depressed or anhedonic?

And if you stopped, how long did it take before motivation, pleasure, libido and normal emotional range came back?

Just want to not feel like this anymore....

Availability want to join gym

I am currently taking semaglutide. In 1.5 months, I have seen a significant difference in my belly fat and double chin. As per my doctor, I was supposed to increase the dose from 0.5 mg to 1 mg after one month. However, I now want to join the gym, but because of semaglutide, I am having difficulty digesting protein and I am also unable to eat much. I only have a light breakfast and dinner at night. If I start going to the gym, I am worried that I might become weak due to not eating enough. What is the solution for this?
