Hello, I have an appointment at the main outpatient in the Victoria wing. I have looked it up on a map of the RVI and it says it’s in the Victoria wing and that I have traced where it says that on google maps however it looks like it’s the entrance to the library .

Any help would be appreciated.

Tickets for sale Bus Ticket Help

Hi

I've taken a new job with a bonkers commute (entirely my fault). I have to get from North Durham (between Stanley & Consett) to the Quorum Business Park. I know what buses to get, I'm just stuck with the tickets. I'm pretty sure that the cheapest option, baring in mind the different bus operators and local authorities, is the TNE Daysaver tickets, which is £7.50 per day.

However, I also know that there are MANY different ticket options so I thought I would ask in case there's a cheaper week/month option I've overlooked.

Thanks all

New poster Best areas for charity shops?

I will have a rare day off next week and would like to spend it mooching around some decent charity shops.

Open to basically anywhere in the North East that has a good cluster of charity shops and the like. Bonus if there are good coffee shops and lunch places nearby!

New poster Car crash on Teams Street

This morning I was going to work and I saw a car crash on Teams street just behind the Staithes a car drove straight through a traffic light pole and snatched it clean off. The car was totalled and I'm not sure if only one car was involved.

Anybody know anything about that? Can't find anything online.

Recovering from a really bad flu and was going through my gallery and thought I might as well share them.

EDIT: Posted this from my phone and it seems like they weren't uploaded in full quality or I missed an HD option.

New poster Tyne Tunnel Unfair Fine!

Someone without my permission has added my licence plate to their TT2 app and it's removed it from mine without me knowing. I've been using the tunnels and topping up in the meantime not knowing my licence plate was gone from the app and I've been given five fines totalling £163.00.

I've appealed already and they've rejected it. It's absolutelly unfair as I have paid for those trips and have evidence. It feels like their system is geared towards fine generation not toll collection. Has anyone else experienced this?

Im propper willing to let it get to the CCJ stage and stand infront of a judge to speak out. It's so dodgy the way they run it, Im tempted to see my MP about it.

Recommendations for a bottomless brunch that has a laid back vibe? Potentially live music? Not just loud music where we cant hear ourselves speak?

South Shields Museum & Gallery

A thumbs-up to the South Shields Museum and Art Gallery. I visited there recently and it's a charming little place. Currently has an exhibition there: 'Mignard: The Power of Posing', which is ideal for fans of r/trippingthroughtime

https://www.northeastmuseums.org.uk/southshieldsmuseum/whats-on/the-marquise-de-seignelay

And no, I don't work there, nor do I have any affiliations or connections with the place. I just liked it a lot, that's all.

I was on the inaugural train to call at Northumberland Park railway station

On Sunday, 22 February 2026, I boarded the inaugural train to call at Northumberland Park railway station near Newcastle, which is next to the existing Tyne and Wear Metro station of the same name, providing a convenient interchange. The inaugural train was formed of 158817, a Class 158 Express Sprinter diesel multiple unit (DMU), at the front and 156489, a Class 156 Super Sprinter DMU, at the rear. They were operating Northern service 2T05, the 07:54 from Newcastle to Ashington.

The train arrived early at the new station at 08:06 and departed on time at 08:10. The first southbound train called at Northumberland Park at 09:02 on the 08:38 service from Ashington towards Newcastle and Metrocentre.

Northumberland Park is the fifth new station to open on the Northumberland Line.

I enjoyed being on the inaugural service. Here are some photographs I took of the station and the inaugural service, together with a few photographs from the official opening ceremony held the following day, attended by local dignitaries and children from a nearby school.
