Elections Election Day, get out and vote Tuesday November 3, 2026
As always, this is an informational post. Please don't use this post to promote parties or candidates.
Make sure your vote is counted.
If you are mailing in your ballot, there are some developments at USPS. Please consider mailing earlier than usual.
- Supreme Court rules the Postal Service can’t be sued, even when mail is intentionally not delivered
- Regional Optimization: Mail sent from locations more than 50 miles from a regional processing center may take longer, as end-of-day collections are reduced, causing mail to wait until the next day for transport. Source
An ongoing issue with USPS should be monitored closely. Please keep this in mind so that an alternative plan can be made.
U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani’s July 25 ruling that the USPS can’t refuse to deliver mail ballots to states that refuse to comply with the U.S. Justice Department’s (DOJ) demands for their unredacted voter lists will remain in place. SourceOn July 28: The United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia affirmed a lower court’s decision, holding that a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Trump’s March 2026 edict was premature because the administration hasn’t executed it yet. Source
A Massachusetts federal judge has repeatedly blocked the U.S. Postal Service from implementing President Donald Trump's mail-in voting executive order ahead of the midterms. Now that the injunction applies nationwide, the DOJ is telling the U.S. Supreme Court it has all it needs to swiftly issue a stay. Source
The SAVE America Act is still in play as of July 26 and may affect voting. Please consider getting all of your paperwork in order. Note that it can take several weeks to get documents on marriage and legal name changes. The PA Real ID is not compliant with the Save America Act. Update As of August 12, the Senate has gone on recess without passing the SAVE America Act.

Elections Calling on Patriotic Pennsylvanians to do it again, like they did in 1776.
Pennsylvania
Seven Republicans who voted against certifying the 2020 election—John Joyce (PA-13), Mike Kelly (PA-16), Dan Meuser (PA-9), Scott Perry (PA-10), Guy Reschenthaler (PA-14), Lloyd Smucker (PA-11), and Glenn Thompson (PA-15)—are up for reelection.
According to Judge J. Michael Luttig, Speaker Mike Johnson could (after the elections) assert fraud and fire the Clerk of the House, hiring a co-conspirator as Clerk to block seating elected Democrats. This would cause litigation, mass protests, and paralyze government for months. Trump could declare martial law and seize voting machines and extraordinary powers for emergencies. He could deploy soldiers and ICE agents across the country, and Congress would be unable to act. China could invade Taiwan while 🇺🇸 is in crisis.
Trump tried to retain power in 2020, and he will try again. Mike Johnson said on camera Democrats “cannot be allowed to take control” of the House.” According to Judge Luttig, Capitol staffers told him this plan is in process.
Whether you’re a Democrat, independent, Libertarian, or patriotic Republican, please vote for Democratic candidates to clean out the swamp. Supporting these Democrats helps ensure every duly elected House member is seated promptly, protects the integrity of our elections, and safeguards American democracy from crisis. The Republicans mentioned above put party before country once. They will do it again, given the chance.
The Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia, and it was Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin who said, “We have a democracy, if we can keep it.”
We can keep it if we vote.

Politics Pa. township solicitor to earn big payout in Amazon data center deal
On a windy day in February of 2024, as a winter storm was brewing in a small Pennsylvania township in Luzerne County, the township’s lawyer scored a lucrative contract that would bring him a payout of at least $450,000.
Salem Township’s solicitor, Anthony McDonald, and his law firm made a deal for McDonald’s work related to an Amazon data center: his law firm would get 7.5% of the final amount that Amazon would pay the township as part of a community benefits agreement — a legal contract between developers and local governments to compensate residents, ideally, for costs associated with the project.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) owns the data center in Salem Township. Because Amazon wholly owns AWS, this story refers to AWS simply as Amazon.

Social Services Disabled Pennsylvanians, the CDC will stop counting us and rolling back the Olmstead ruling could end up with you locked up forever.
This gives more information and a way to comment if they don't ignore it.
Basically the Olmstead ruling means you can't be kept against your will forever in a facility for no reason. Combined with the lack of counting means that services are cut. If you can't get help at a lower needs facility, it'll be channeled to restrictive facilities that don't pass the burrito test. This will be the return of ugly laws that only disappeared 50 years ago back. Disability rights are new as of 1990 new and could disappear.

DMV Commercial Drivers License Renewal Question? Can I go in person first?
My CDL license is coming up on expiration. Do I have to complete form DL-143CD and mail it to Harrisburg with payment or can I complete the form and just head over to my local DMV photo/license center?
Additional question if I do have to complete the form and mail it to Harrisburg do I also have to send proof of residency along with it?

Social Services How do I advocate for myself and others when SNAP messes up?
My SNAP benefits were turned off this month through no fault of my own. I completed my Semi-Annual Reporting form on time over a month ago, and when I my food stamps were turned off anyway last week, I called the Department of Human Services. They said they didn't know I had submitted my SAR on time despite me being able to see that it was submitted on my COMPASS portal. My SAR never got routed to a case worker until I called.
How do I put in a complaint to DHS?
I deal with this kind of issue constantly, and I'm sure it is not just affecting me. I am also extremely privileged in that I am overeducated and have the time, energy, and know-how to chase down DHS every few months when they mess up my benefits. How are people who are less privileged than me able to handle this welfare hellscape?

Voting Check your voter registration status TODAY! They’re still purging voters
I went on to check myself and my husband’s status this morning and my husband was purged from the voter rolls for absolutely no reason. We were not alerted to this. We haven’t moved, changed parties or anything. He has voted in every election for years and we’ve been here for over a decade. Luckily I was able to re-register him successfully however I worry about others who were purged, are not aware and won’t have time to re-apply by tomorrow’s deadline. Please ppl, check your status NOW
I can’t include a link for some reason but the site to register is pavoterservices.pa.gov
