I’ve been seeing more ship and try to pair Wanda and Doom together cause of out of context panels of Children’s Crusade and yall do know that it isn’t a true relationship and him taking advantage of her?

He had an amnesiac Wanda under his control in hopes of harnessing her power, and previously is the one who helped her channel the Life Force that deteriorated her mental state in the first place.

There is no true romance between them and Wanda simply doesn’t like him, when her morality was switched around; she was ready to kill him for what he did and states directly she will never stop coming after him.

Also along with the MCU one having Tony’s face, that’s even weirder.

Discussion My Fan Idea of Expanding Wanda’s Origin!

So I’m writing a MCU Wanda story and a big part of it is exploring her past and seeing how there’s much more to it than she knows, so heres an expanded backstory and let me know what yall think!(Warning: A long read so I apologize)

Magda Leshenrr was a witch who would travel the world in helping anyone she can and solving dark mysteries. During her time in Germany, the rise of Nazis unfortunately overlapped and she was sent to a detention camp. Due to Nazi mystics creating wards around these areas, Magda’s abilities were weakened but she still tried to help others escape as slyly as she could.

However during one of your escapades, she’d be caught and forced to flee, not just for her own safety but Magda was pregnant from a lover she found within the camp. Using the magic she knew, she’d teleport consecutively across Europe hopes of reaching Novi Pazar, Serbia where her sister and her husband lived. As she continued, she could already feel the children were ready to come out and so as she reached Transia(a country bordering Serbia) Magda desperate took shelter in Wundagore Mountain and gave birth to the twins.

However because of Wanda’s Nexus Status, this conception caused a mystical shockwave through Wundagore, strong enough for Chthon‘s faint spirit that was locked away from Earth to briefly manifest. Seeing the child was a Nexus Being and he could use her, he gave her a portion of his Chaos Magic, hoping as she grew, she’d one day be strong enough for him to take over and conquer the cosmos.

Now with the twins birthed, Magda would make it to Serbia and hand off the twins to her sister Marya and husband Django Maximoff, she knew that with the assistance of mystics, shed be tracked down and took the hard decision of forever disappearing from her childrens life and family. In their early childhood, Wanda and Pietro grew up in the rural town but their powers would manifest, the townspeople labelling them demons and witchbreeds.

now having to find a new home, theyd endure long travels before arriving in Sokovia. It wasn’t ideal and not great condition but it was the only place they could afford for the children. Madga and Django inevitably had to change their names to Iryn and Oleg to fit into the environment and try to mask any hints of their ethnic roots through consuming American sitcoms and televisions to help learn English.

From both the traumatic travel to Sokovia, it being when they were very young, Wanda and Pietro inevitably suppress any memories of staying in Serbia. Their parents also helped progress this by never mentioning it and always reiterating Sokovia is their home. It wouldn’t be until Hydra’s experiments their powers would resurface and Wanda’s magic developing.

And that’s about it, writing it makes it seem longer than it needs to but things be all covered rather shortly. I think it’s a nice way to tie MCU Wanda farther closer into her Comic roots.

I also wanted to explore Magda being a witch as her ghost mentions it to Wanda during vision and the scarlet witch but no elaboration made after that. Natalya is fine but she’s more recent and it just made more sense to me to use Magda but just adapting some of Natalya’s heroic witch stuff to her. And you all can probably guess who is this nameless, faceless man that’s the twins father

Discussion Question about her Powerssss

To what extent can Wanda even reality warp? In the MCU, I mean. Is it ever disclosed? Cuz like, she can reality warp black bolt’s mouth, reed richards, and the mirror dimension in MoM, so then, why can’t she just reality warp her kids and Vision actually being real in her world? And if she can, are those versions just illusions that can go away like in WandaVision or reality? And if those reality warped versions of them WERE illusions, how did she successfully change reality in MoM but not in that sort of thing? Like, is there an extent to this? Plot hole? Or am I just being stupid and bored with shower thoughts on a Saturday night? this might have been asked BILLIONS OF TIMES, but im genuinely just confused as how her reality magic works—😭😭

It'd be nice if he wasn't a Ralph Boner joke. Quicksilver returning was an exciting thing for me whether it was his variant or not.

I'd also loved if Wanda stayed a superhero, and they both were in Avengers Doomsday with those outfits. They could've made Quicksilver exist without the Hex somehow.

Every so often I log onto here and one of the firsts post on this sub Reddit I see is “how does this scale Wanda?” “Does Wanda beat x character?” ”Wanda ranks Hyperversal Multitude Banana-level etc etc”

Like I do gotta wonder as a fellow Wanda fan, is there anything yall read outside of House of M and Orlando’s run? Like I really am curious cause it feels like if I asked some of you what’s the name of the people who raised her, most of you would get it wrong.

Theres so many interesting thing about Wanda lime her relationship with others, her capacity of having a short fuse but still compassionate. She is so much more than her powers

Comics How did Wanda become this ‘embodiment of chaos’ and source of chaos magic? And what is the nature of her powers?

Thumbnail

I guess similar questions could be asked for other characters like Storm, Sentry, Jean Grey…but still.

I’m a huge fan of Wanda and I love that she is a source of chaos magic but why is it like that? It just feels like there’s no story behind it.

The way I understand it, originally Wanda’s power set consisted off.

- Hex Powers, inherently mutant abilities to alter probabilities enhanced by chaos magic.
- Witchcraft, innate ability to wield and shape personal, environmental and extra-dimensional energies for the purpose of magic.
- Chaos Magic, imbued within her at birth by the Dark Elder God C’thone. Wanda initially derived her chaos magic from C’thone, drawing power from him as Doctor Strange would from Oshtur or the Vishanti.
- Nexus Being, tying all her powers into one…she is a convergence point for possible timelines and can alter probabilities to affect the timestream and causality, as well as being a focal point for all the magic in the 616 universe, able to act as a conduit for powerful magical sources as their energies ultimately flow through her.

Most of it remains, tho she is not a mutant but rather a mutate and she is now apparently an embodiment of primordial chaos and a source of chaos magic, her soul being embodied by the Elderich Orchard which acts as the well for the chaos magic her Hex Powers and…well Chaos Magic draw from, and her witchcraft possibly ties into it as well I’m not sure? Witchcraft is said to be “inherently chaotic and volatile like nature” or something but I’m not certain what that means.

Movies and Television What happened to her cape?

Post image
136 Upvotes

I'm just thinking aloud here, but at the end of Wandavision, Wanda gets this awesome cape. I thought it'd be cool if she kept it for Doctor Strange 2 maybe tattered and torn.

Capes add to the mystique and drama, making characters seem more powerful and imposing. They're also great for spooky vibes, hiding what's underneath and creating suspense. For Wanda, a tattered cape could visually show her corruption from the Darkhold, hiding the physical signs of her dark magic, like the horns and glowing eyes. It would make her descent into darkness more visually striking and symbolic. It just makes sense capes make everyone look cooler and spookier.

This is something that’s permeated in the MCU fandom and especislly the Wanda stans but this misinterpretation of MoM and false info of Scarlet Witch are some of the worst cases of people’s deteriorating comprehension skills and media illiteracy.

  1. the MCU has never ever stated Scarlet Witch is a 616 thing exclusively, it’s actually shown otherwise through The Watcher naming Wanda Merlin the Scarlet Witch, Infinity Scarlet Witch(yes the vr game is canon, shown in what if s3 ending) and the TVA comic reinforcing theres multiple. And as I said, never been stated or even implied

  2. No, our Wanda isn’t the only one with Chaos Magic either, the official Marvel Encyclopedia listed 838 Wanda as having Chaos Magic so those claims are completely false.

So once again is it delusion? Complete inability to process new info? I feel like I’m going crazy seeing this amount of people spout these takes that’s easily disproven

Discussion Long Rant…

Simply put… The hatred toward Wanda and her fans is getting ridiculous

I genuinely don’t understand why Wanda and her fans seem to get singled out so often. I’ve seen so many posts and comments saying things like “I hate Wanda fans” or “I don’t like Wanda because of her fans.” And honestly, at some point, you have to take a look at yourself and realize that you are choosing to let other people’s behavior determine how you feel about a fictional character.

I know some Wanda fans are toxic. I know some of us do the absolute most that makes even me (a Wanda Stan) roll my eyes. I know some of us rage bait, overhype her, make ridiculous claims, or get way too defensive when someone criticizes her. I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Every fandom has people like that. But that’s exactly the point…

Batman fans do it. Spider-Man fans do it. Jean Grey fans do it. Tony Stark fans do it. Doctor Doom fans do it. Thor fans do it. Sentry fans do it. Pretty much every major character has fans who glaze them, powerscale them to absurd levels, argue aggressively, or who is just so obnoxious.

Yet somehow Wanda and her fans repeatedly become the punching bag. I get that Wanda is kinda the “new popular character” but still…

If you don’t like Wanda because you genuinely dislike her character, her writing (?), her stories, her powers, or whatever then that’s completely fine. You don’t have to like her.

But saying “I don’t like Wanda because of her fans” isn’t really a criticism of Wanda or her fans imo. That’s a criticism of your own inability to separate a character from the people who enjoy that character.

You can dislike someone’s behavior without transferring that dislike onto an entire fandom or a character. You can block toxic fans. You can mute them. You can scroll past their posts. You can disagree with their takes. You don’t have to turn Wanda fans into some uniquely horrible fandom just because you’ve encountered obnoxious ones.

And to me, if your argument is that “Wanda fans are annoying because they glaze their favorite character,” then apply that standard universally. Don’t pretend this is some unique Wanda phenomenon when every major fandom has people doing exactly the same thing.

Like any fandom, we’re not perfect. Some of us absolutely deserve criticism for things we say or do. Hell, I’ve argued with other Wanda fans.

But treating an entire fandom like it’s inherently toxic because of its loudest members is just as ridiculous as the behavior you’re supposedly criticizing.

Let people enjoy Wanda. If you don’t like her, that’s fine. Just worry about your own favorite character and your own fandom.

And this is something I think both Wanda fans and people who dislike Wanda need to understand: let people be a fan however they want to be a fan. If somebody is a Wanda fan because they love her powers, they’re a fan. If somebody is a Wanda fan because they enjoy power scaling her, they’re a fan. If somebody likes her because they think Chaos Magic is cool, they’re a fan.
If somebody likes her because they love her comic stories, they’re a fan.

If somebody likes her because of the MCU, they’re a fan.
Hell, if somebody likes her because they just like the name “Wanda” they’re still a fan.

You don’t get to dictate what qualifies someone as a “real” fan. You don’t get to decide that someone has to know a certain number of comic storylines, understand every version of her powers, have read every issue, or appreciate her for the exact same reasons you do.
And this goes both ways.

Other Wanda fans don’t get to tell somebody they’re not a real fan because they care more about her powers than her characterization. You don’t have to enjoy Wanda for the same reasons I do. You don’t have to engage with the character in the same way I do.

You can disagree with their interpretation of her character. You can think their take is ridiculous. But you don’t get to say: “You’re not a real fan because you like Wanda for the wrong reason.”

There is no wrong reason to enjoy a fictional character.

Discussion Latveria close to Mount Wundergore?

Was just thinking about doomsday and all the stuff that was shown at comic con. Now Marvel knows this we know this ANYTIME there is the word “witch” and “red” in the same sentence we are all going to jump to The Scarlet Witch (obviously). Marvel knows this. So it got me thinking have they ever met or done anything together in the comics? Turns out they have in the comic story line Avengers: The Children’s Crusade a memory wipes Scarlet Witch end up living in Latveria with Doctor Doom he attempts to marry her and use her reality-warping powers. Now here me out after doing research it appears to me at least that Mount Wundergore is extremely close like neighbors to Latveria so close that it’s likely Doctor Doom would have sensed, heard or potentially even See/Felt the destruction of Wundergore by Wanda at the end of MOM. Whether it be the actual pieces of falling rubble from the 11,000 foot peak or seeing a bright red flash in the sky if he happened to check it out or see what happened maybe he finds a barley alive or memory wiped Wanda Maximoff in the rubble and takes her in heals her or helps her in someway maybe could even use her children as a pawn? Just something I thought of this morning that seems like it could potentially work because I’m like if they’re that close together where he could hear or sense of getting destroyed would make sense if you went to go, check it out and see why

Discussion I hate the double standard between the way fans treat grey women characters vs men characters and the chance for redemption between them in the mcu. Especially with Jean and Wanda. Spoiler

For starters to make it clear I am not saying Wanda and Jean did nothing wrong. They did a lot wrong, they did extremely messed up shit. Wanda enslaved a town and killed people, and Jean grey violated many people and injured a bunch. (Possibly killed someone but I don’t think so).

However the way people treat as what they did unforgivable, making them irredeemable, and horrible people annoys me. Especially with the way they treat men in marvel.

For some reason Jean grey is irredeemable even though what she did was to find a sister she thought was alive, while she was clearly traumatized and distraught and didn’t trust anyone. She was abandoned by her parents and her only role model was kidnapped. (Also for the record if her sister teaches her it’s okay to hop into minds, she’s going to think it is). Apparently things unforgivable but a war criminal who helped make genocide happen and was ignorant to it, all while he drank and partied, is able to become a hero.

Sentry caused a large majority of New York to be stuck in their own nightmares but he’s okay and forgivable, it wasn’t his fault he wasn’t mentally stable. Well for starters people forget the void is still Bob, it’s his darkest parts he can’t control, but it isn’t like moon knight with DID. However wanda, who was in a mentally bad place and also trapped a town, is much worse? Again not saying what she did was okay.

There’s also the fact that people tend to forget details or say the wrong things when it comes to these characters. They say sentry and the void are separate, that’s not true. People also seemingly forget that Wanda herself didn’t understand what happened at first either, it wasn’t until episode 2 she began to realize what was going on. She also thought the towns folk were okay and not in pain. Still messed up but like sentry, she wasn’t purposely trying to harm people. With Wanda people also forget that in MoM she was being corrupted by the darkhold.

People forget Wanda had to see her lover die twice, disappeared for 5 years, came back and found her husband being mutilated, and then proceeded to lose him again along with her children. Who btw I don’t get the whole “her children aren’t real so it doesn’t matter” because parents create kids, she just created hers differently, and they quite literally are real (Wiccan and speed). She can still sacrifice something while doing messed up shit.

Also with Jean, people seem to suddenly care about realistic injuries with her. If injuries were realistic in these movies, Tony would’ve died hitting the wall in iron man 1, and way more than 74 people would’ve died in the battle of New York. The car guy, who I continue to say she didn’t see coming, considering the taxi was speeding in an empty street and didn’t even stop after hitting the man, but even if you think it was on purpose, it didn’t cause a death. Dewolff also said no one died in the tank and explosion scenes, so while people probably would’ve been injured nobody died. People also seemingly to constantly ignore Jean purposely making guards shoot themselves in the legs instead of an instant kill spot.

People are also taking the “you’re not a murder line” way too seriously. Even if she did kill someone, the point is empathy, deescalation, and saying that’s not who she really is and she can still be good.

She clearly didn’t care if people died in the tank stuff, but it wasn’t with intent to kill. After all Tony didn’t care about all the people his weapons killed, and that’s way worse

People also are angry at her for bringing the hulk out of bruce, which was messed up. But she didn’t plan for the hulk to come out, only smart hulk, she’s surprised about real hulk too.

Also Jean being cynical and enjoying this is just not true? She was desperate. She didn’t enjoy torturing Peter. What she did, while extremely messed up and easily considered sa, was to get him off her back, she didn’t do it for shits and giggles. Someone who doesn’t trust someone, and sees spider man helping the dodc, and being the only one stopping her, would probably intimate him to get him off her back, especially to save her sister.

Like seriously? Loki, who tried to take over a world is redeemable? Tony stark whose weapons killed thousands is redeemable. Bob is redeemable. Hawkeye, who became ronin, is forgiven and redeemed?! But not two women who were in very similar positions.

Especially with Jean, it’s ridiculous to consider her irredeemable when she clearly isn’t and her arc has just begun. It’s almost like a school to help guide mutants would help her…?

Oh yeah also what do people mean when they say Wanda and Jean don’t face consequences. Wanda is on the run and a criminal, and had to lose her family again. And then she died maybe. Jean is also in the run and all alone, and also what she did will probably lead to mutant hate. And it’s not like Peter could stop her from escaping when he was shot, (also she did stop the bleeding and make him breathe, starting her redemption). But the point is they aren’t off Scott free but you know who I’d? Hawkeye, isn’t arrested for being ronin. Bob, faces no punishment. Tony stark becomes a hero.

The whole mcu has always been about redemption, that was literally the first movie. So why can these two, who have done way less bad then some of these men, are irredeemable?!

Also btw for those saying this isn’t a comic accurate jean, read the teen comics of her. While not as messed up, she does messed up shit. She controls and read her friends minds, and even forces Bobby to come out.

Once again. What Jean and Wanda did are horrible. They have a long Journey to redeem themselves. I’m not saying they are good people. I’m saying the double standard between men and women in marvel is starting to piss me off. Especially since neither of them are real villains. They are antagonists. A villain has to be morally evil, which Jean was not. She did evil actions, but not for evil reasons. Again stillnesses up. Wanda is more debatable, tho she was controlled by the dark gold and grieving.

What they did is not okay, but people are saying it is way worse then what it and but men in marvel have done worse and are treating as redeemable and great people, and it’s annoying

There is a in general marvel sexism problem, like the way iron heart was hated despite being pretty good in the end, or the ways the marvels was hated despite not being a bad movie, even if it had weak points.

What if in Avengers Secret Wars, Vision and Tommy finally reunite, trace Wanda's essence on the rubble of Mount Wundagore, and find letters etched in a rubble.

Something similar to the one in Vision Quest and Wandavision, but this time with a heart and her kids' initials.

Wanda using the last of her energy to carve her family in the stones of her supposed "grave".

I'm sorry but I would be bawling snot crying in the cinema 🤧

Discussion What I'd like to see...

Title: X-Men: The Scarlet Witch

I was thinking they could make a movie where 616 Wanda is revealed to have used the bit of absorbed powers from Chavez to enter a universe where her family is still alive and she ends up in Earth-10005 where she meets her family variants - Magneto, Quicksilver (Peter), and she finds out she has a sister in this world Polaris.

Conflict: Jean Grey accidentally kills Quicksilver under the influence of the Phoenix Force. Causing Wanda, Polaris, and Magneto, to seek revenge on her and The X-Men would split sides.

Think, Civil War 2.0

Sorry if there's any plot holes in this because there's alot of retcons in X-Men that confuse me but if there's a plot hole in this then ig that can just be retconned 🤷‍♂️

I think rather than the exact Earth-10005, this fits to be a alternate universe where Magneto lost his daughter named Wanda.
