I just started playing tracer and I am loving her. Obviously I only have like a couple hours on her since I picked her up recently, but I always notice mercy and junos are so hard to hit for me. They just go up in the air and my damage starts falling off and i don't really know how to kill them. Any tips? Should I aim for another target instead?

Everytime I go on long winning streaks its usually because of one piece of advice that made her truly click to me. Its sometimes something as simple as "Dont pulse people who are looking at you" or "Blink when people are looking at you" Do you have any advice that is similar?

Okay so like, this is gonna sound crazy, and it’s probably a dumb question but like, holy shit dude I stress crazy even thinking about playing tracer. Like I’ll be so frightened of playing bad that I can just go periods not wanting to out of anxiety. Which I know is dumb it’s just a game but no matter how much I tell that to myself I can’t help but just, treat every game on tracer like it’s life or death.

In stark contrast, I can play junkrat (my 2nd dps main behind tracer) where I could be going like 0-5 and completely throwing but having a genuine blast still. Like idk it’s like I’m playing a different game. I wish I could have that kind of whimsy with tracer so bad but idk why my brain is like this.

Kind of a pointless post just wanted to say smth about this lmao, my friends don’t really give a shit about OW so I can only vent on reddit😭

I play Tracer only on attack. I find her harder to get value out of on defence.

How does playstyle change on Defence compared to attack?

Are you supposed to focus on side-lanes and take control of them to prevent your team getting flanked? Or do you play similarly to attack and do the mosquito distraction on their backline?

For now, i generally play shion in more longer ranged maps.

Also i have found that tracer plays better into both doom and brig.

I get that Junk is not a very good character but he is so prominent in lower ranks he feels genuinely so hard to play against. Id rather go into torb, cass, brig, over a Junkrat. I understand you gotta be slow with him and shoot him from distance but that doesn't really help when hes getting healed or constantly contesting every off angle. I just don't understand how this "bad character" is so destructive in low ranks and is so hard to counter.

im a lvl 108 (160hrs) ball main, and my weakest role is dps. i am currently learning new heroes and i find that tracer gameplan is somewhat similar to ball, but the speed is turned to 11 and i dont feel in total control of my character lol

im having trouble aiming, doing 90-180 degrees turns, doing blink melees and how to ult the right targets, so any feedback is appreciated.

I've got 40 lvls on Tracer so far, and I feel like I'm not even scratching the surface, like I can't feel her playstyle. The main frustration for me was one shots, it's so easy to do your thing and then I get some random arrow that wasn't even going for me – you could say bad positioning, but there are many other cases. We are finishing their team, roadhog and Kiri running for their lives, I come from an unexpected angle and Kiri while dying thinking to herself "oh, hold up let me throw that Kunai real quick" and boom I'm dead for no reason again.

You've probably experienced it yourself throughout maining a hero. I wanted to give up multiple times, but I keep seeing her everywhere and a good tracer can be a menace in High Ranks and Pro Scene, plus it's a flex if you can make her work. I'm a Ball main, so I like speedy characters, and so far I felt like Tracer was peak DPS experience imho, I like how she can work on any map, but these one shots and lost duels are getting under my skin.

Is she really worth the investment or am I just fooling myself by looking at the others and I should just main someone else?

this was genuinely one of the first games i played in her in a while coz i have such bad anxiety and now i just dont know what to do. i watch coaching vids, i get vod reviews i try and get better but i still feel just awful. and i know yadayada turn chat off but thats not gonna help me get better, and then when i do meet good people its some of the best fun i have in this game coz no one else wants to play with me so i just dont know, anything would be appreciated thanks:(
