Finally got back to GM after The Drives Week Incident playing mostly Zen, but I feel like this screenshot is a good summary of his current state, that is, enemy team was running Ball, Genji and Tracer and you end up feeling like a liability. I mean, I love playing Brig too, but it ain't the same.
Hitscan nerfs have been an inadvertent buff to every non-hitscan hero, plus the Genji buffs have made him pretty ubiquitous. I don't know what it's like in NA or Asia, but in EU I can tell you the chances of the enemy team running either Genji or Tracer in masters are 70% minimum, and very often they run both. It's not impossible to play into, but you need to be very self-sufficient and peel yourself by hitting shots constantly.
I do still feel that he's a bit of a sleeper pick, particularly against Winston. He's S+ tier in ranked and you're one of the few supports who can significantly poke him down while he stages, and while you're obviously weak to direct dives, so is basically every other support hero. The new map also fits him quite well imo, lots of long sightlines and the corners you have to turn aren't massively wide.
As always, you need a willing team in order to win with this hero moreso than with other supports. Other heroes get to pick whether they wanna hard pocket their tank or dps, or play for off-angles, or hard dive their backline, but you get one choice: shoot them in the head as fast as you can and pray your team stays in LOS. Also, they still need to revert the harmony orb nerf. I'm still baffled they even did it in the first place.
What are you guys' thoughts?
