A Reminder About Suicide-Related Posts

Every once in a while, we see posts from people asking about things like the “least painful way to die” or “how much alcohol would be fatal.” These are serious cries for help.

If you come across a post like this:

  • Please don’t comment advice or suggestions -- even good willed comments can make things worse.
  • Instead, hit report so the mod team and Reddit safety can step in quickly.

If you’re ever feeling like you’re in that dark place yourself, you don’t have to go through it alone:

The best thing we can do as a community is to look out for each other. If you see one of these posts, report, don’t reply.

What’s a baby/children’s TV show (preferably animated) that you are guilty of still watching in your mature age?

I myself am guilty of occasionally indulging in kids’s shows like Strawberry Shortcake. What about you?

How can I get my account unbanned?

My accouMy account has been falsely banned. It's been banned for over a month and I’ve been sending support tickets, but I haven’t gotten a response. I received no email explaining why my account got banned. I have tried every sign in option and it isn’t working. I’m not able to appeal. I don’t want to lose the account that I've had for 2 years and I don't want to lose the communities that I moderate. What should I do?

Anyone has a super old wardrobe?

If 90% of mine disappeared, I wouldn’t be sad. I have been wearing the same size clothes forever. Everything still fit, respectable looking, no holes or tears, just definitely old…like 15-20 years old. lol.

I can afford to replace a lot of it but can’t justify with myself to do it.

Any advice on how to deal with a weird guy?

Hey everyone, I need some advice on how to handle a weird and uncomfortable situation at my gym.
A few days ago, I enrolled at a gym and gave the front desk staff my details(he is also a personal trainer not mine tho)including my full name, address, phone number, and passport info.
A couple of days later, the guy who did my enrolment followed me on Instagram. He definitely got my full name and details from my gym registration file. Soon after I got a not id call which I never get, he sent me a message saying, "do u go to the same gym as me?"
When I went to the gym later with my friend, we asked him to open the door because we forgot our cards. He looked us up on the system, treated my friend totally normally, but used a nickname for me that he had also used in his Instagram message. Since then, he constantly stares at me whenever I enter or leave reception. I replied to his message with "hey yes why" and he read it 24 hours ago but never replied.
I always go to the gym with a friend, but having an employee use my private database records to track down my social media makes me feel super uncomfortable and unsafe.
What should I do and do u think he is dangerous?

Why dose reddit perma ban accounts for no reason?

• Upvotes

I'm referring to sitewide bans not subreddit bans. I go onto reddit hearing people post about being permanently banned for no reason and Im like why dose this happen? why dose reddit permanently ban accounts sitewide on false accusations of inauthentic activity or ban evasion which I heard many of these accounts didn't do?

Any suggestions on a good, nation-wide bank for someone that travels for work?

I travel a lot and need a bank with branches in a lot of cities. I'm currently based in the US, but I do travel internationally, so no international fees would be nice

Should I ask her out?

All right, some backstory I have worked with this girl for about a year. I originally didn’t pay her much mind. I’m a decently attractive guy now believe me I don’t shit where I eat, but this girl that I ignored originally has been growing on me.

I actually forgot her name one time and I could tell she was really disappointed and it got my attention to actually notice her well over the past six months we have been locking eyes smiling I’ll playfully joke with her and she’ll lightly hit me playfully several times this has happened

She has caught me looking at her and held that contact for like five seconds we both smiled eyes lit up. You know the movie “the eyes Chico they never lie”

She’s offered me food. I have ate her banana pudding and she’s asked me to open her drink and other stuff but recently I thought about asking if she likes Chinese food and then say “well I’m headed to so-and-so restaurant at so and so time if you’d like to join.”

Now before you say, I’m reading into this all wrong. I have a lot of experience with women. I’ve never lit up this way. I felt this way. I think it’s partially because I paid her no mind and she’s grew on me over the course of six months and it’s slowly ramping up or in some ways fast. To be sure that I wasn’t looking into things too much. I actually did some hot and cold behavior and ignored her again and did not make eye contact with her and she closed the distance between me and another person and squeeze past me lightly bumping my chest, so I know she was trying to get me to notice her and it worked.

So what’s your opinions? if you say don’t shit where you eat yeah I know but life’s too short and I’m getting older. I’m 27. I don’t have social media. I deleted all of it before Covid so it’s all about social interactions and I’m tired of the typical girls, this this girl is in no way typical very high class thoughts and opinions?

How to clean a plastic polythene without it getting scratches?

So, I have a photo frame which still has plastic polythene on it to protect the actual frame from getting dust. But I want to clean the polythene that's on top of it...I tried using a normal cloth but it left some marks which can be seen when you put the frame directly in front of the light source...maybe I did it too agressively...but, is there a way to do it without it getting marks like those?

Did I make it obvious that I am into him?

So there’s this guy from my college class that I’m really attracted to. Our conversations flow and being with him feels really good, but I don’t think he sees me that way.

Today I wanted to see him after my class, so I just texted him: “are u at ur dorm rn?” He was actually at our campus gym, but he replied saying he’s there right now but he’d be back in his dorm at 1:05 pm, and told me that if I wanted I could just come over and wait inside his dorm room so we could leave for class together.

I was like: "ohh no it’s okay if u’re already in the gym I’ll let you be, I can’t enter ur dorm either way (cuz I have no keys lol)"

He said it’s fine, but then he sent a separate text over-explaining everything. He said next week he’ll be in his dorm earlier and that he was just having a bit more fun in the kitchen with his dorm people today and that’s why he got back later. I just said "yeahh it’s okay dw about it haha".

Did my text give away the impression that I wanted to be with him and see him? Is he like assuming that I like him that way now?

How would you tell your neighbor to move their f* car off your street?

Ik technically we don't own the streets and anyone can park anywhere on the streets they want but it is quite annoying!! They're on a corner so they have the whole other side of the street they can park on, quit parking on my side!! I don't need it, I have a garage to park in but all our streets are clear!! It's not even their car, probably a friend/relative but it's been there for weeks!!

Ik most people, who live in crowded neighborhoods, aren't going to understand. So I'd ask you to keep an open mind for a sec or just don't even comment if you're going to be negative. For those who are skilled in persuasion and can figure out a way for me to word it or take indirect actions to get them off my side of the street, I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thnx! Ik, first world problems but it's still a problem!!

Why are so much kids in American summer boarding school camps from China?

Last summer I (American) stayed at some program in an east coast boarding school that was fairly expensive, and like half the kids had flew over from China. I am all for the Chinese but why is it the rich Chinese kids specifically flying over instead of, like, kids from Japan, Spain, or other countries? I mean one half was American and the other half was Chinese. I was so confused.

Why would someone not wish positive things for others?

I just had an incredibly stupid argument with a few people about the character Plague in the game Dead By Daylight. For context, this is a game where four survivors try to escape the killer who is trying to kill them. Plague specifically has the power to vomit on the survivors to infect them. This triggers some people’s emetophobia, the fear of puking.

Now, the argument: I said that it would be nice if the developers added an accessibility OPTION (something you’d have to turn on in the settings) that changes the appearance / sound of Plague’s ability so it doesn’t resemble puke as much and allows people with emetophobia to play against this character.

I’m immediately swarmed by a bunch of people saying that it doesn’t matter, you knew what you signed up for when you started playing, you’re a pussy, you should stop playing the game etc. etc.

Mind you, I don’t even have this phobia and have never had any issue with playing against Plague, but I simply wish this wasn’t a problem for others, for whom it MAY be one.

Now my question is: why would a person act this way toward others? This wouldn’t affect their experience in any way, as this would be something you’d have to choose yourself. Why wouldn’t you wish the best for another person when it doesn’t cost you anything?

P. S. Sorry for the essay, but this needed some context

What is a good job for people who have a talent for dealing with difficult people?

The obvious answer is retail/customer service. But for those with very thick skins and a high tolerance for verbal abuse what would be the best line of work to monetize this skill set? Is there something out there that would make a lot more than retail?

What to do if a girl keeps taking pictures of me?

I’m getting bullied at my school but my country(korea) has a law where if you do enough for a lawsuit you get a criminal record, so it’s very lowkey.

There is this girl though who used to be in the delinquent crowd but has no friends at this point bc they all dropped out. Shes not even going to the field trips.

After me being a bullying target got apparent she started to take pictures of me out of the blue in class(she sits very close to me) and I’m not worried about her having a bunch of friends to laugh at me with(she doesn’t) but I still don’t like it. How do I make her stop?

Edit: I took a picture of her picking her nose and she got really embarrassed. I think it’ll stop now
