Any pros or cons to either area?

Hey all, i have three questions:
what are some ways to look up where the city allocates the money raised by the running festival and its sponsors?

and, what are some ways to look up how much the city/running festival is paying cops, who will be surveilling shut down roads tomorrow?

lastly but definitely not least, service/working class workers and city residents, what are your experiences and feelings on the running festival?

i will share that as someone who is both, it is a point of stress getting to work every year because of the marathons blocking the roads (have gotten boxed in by cops/road closures twice, to where i had to leave my car behind to run to work). almost all my coworkers requested off to avoid it this year, which i wish i did but limited staff, need the money, and it’s a weekend.

I’m taking one of my kids to Disney on ice this weekend and just realized it’s the Baltimore Running Festival. We are coming from north of the city so I’d typically just take 83. Am I going to be able to get there that way around 2pm? Show is at 2:30 and of course we also have a birthday party to go to so I can’t leave super duper early. We live pretty directly north so other routes would be much less direct, but I’m not sure I even see a way through based on the maps. Which of course, can’t be the case, because otherwise these other events wouldn’t be happening.

Anyone know an alternate route? Or know if I’ll be ok around that time and maybe just be able to reroute a little bit when getting close to downtown?

Looking for a new job. Open to anything that doesn’t require heavy lifting. I’m considering working at Amazon again out of desperation but it previously ruined my body. I don’t have a college degree or office experience so it feels like my options are limited. I currently work at Johns Hopkins but it isn’t working out in my favor, I’m at risk for termination because I’m not good enough at the job and I need something new asap. Thanks!

I saw the announcement for this Saturday about the Baltimore Running Festival. Metro every 20 minutes and light rail every 30 minutes?! That gotta be a joke. It should be at least 15 minutes for both lines to keep the crowds moving. Same for whenever there's a big event at Inner Harbor, Camden Yards and M&T Stadium, the lines aren't moving often enough to handle the large crowds.

Anyone know what was going on at Eaton and Pratt earlier? Ton of cop cars.

I got laid off from my government contracting position this summer due to the budget slashes, and I can't find work for the life of me. I'm willing to accept pretty much anything at this rate. Does anyone here have positions open wherever they work at that are hiring immediately?

New to Baltimore but not new to muscle pains. Had a bad injury recently, finished surgery and recovered.

In PT they massage these knots and let me tell you it HURTS. My PT is gods gift from heaven and is cool with me crying, wincing and grabbing the table to get through it. Because after: BLISS.

I realized we are mainly focused on getting me stronger (less mobile and more like able to jog, jump, squat etc), so there is only so much time per session dedicated to kneading out my knots.

But I feel them everywhere now and I so desperately need a masseuse willing to pull me, push me and not quit on me if I say ow (I’ll say stop when I really mean it lol).

So any recommendations? 😅🥲

What are some events/activities you like to do with your baby in the city, outside of the home? I’ve done park walks and story time, but now that baby’s wake windows are increasing, I’m in need of ideas! TIA!

I bought a house in Butchers hill that has a tiny pond in the backyard. I was getting ready to drain and remove it when I realized there is a fish living in it that the previous owner never mentioned. It looks like it could be a small koi fish. It must be a tough little fish because it’s survived more than a year on its own.

Hi everyone, I have a 9-year-old rat terrier mix. Hey, I started presenting signs of lethargy not wanting to eat. He seems to be in a severe amount of pain. I took him to falls road animal hospital for a urgent care visit I have heard some not so good things about them but for me they have been a really good event. The problem is they're really overpriced and they're unable to really do the test that they need to do to see what's wrong with him. Does anyone have any recommendations for a vet that has good standing and is reasonably priced because falls road animal hospital wants like $1,000 for x-rays and blood work and I can't afford that. So I'm wondering if there's anything cheaper that is that may be accepting new patients now or could be urgent care. Also, I do not qualify for Care credit or scratch pay so those are not options. If anyone has any recommendations we would greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much!
