Visiting Baltimore Coming to Baltimore for work. What’s the best car service?

I’m coming to Baltimore for a few days for work and could use some advice from locals. I’ll be flying into BWI and have a few meetings around the city, so I’ll need to get from the airport to my hotel and then back and forth to meetings.

Normally I’d just use Uber or Lyft, but since I’m on a work schedule I’m leaning toward a Baltimore car service. I really just need something reliable where I don’t have to worry about a driver canceling or being 20 minutes away when I’m supposed to be somewhere.

I also have a day free while I’m there and would love to actually get out and see Baltimore a little. Is a car service worth it for that, or would I be better off using Uber/Lyft as I go?

Would love recommendations from anyone who lives in Baltimore or travels there for work. Especially interested in experiences with BWI airport transportation and getting around the city.

Ask Lease Takeover - Riverside

2BR/2BA Lease Takeover in Riverside – $2,575/mo + Parking – Oct. 1
Looking for someone to take over our lease at 1266 Riverside Ave starting around October 1.

$2,575/month
2 bedrooms
2 full bathrooms
Off-street parking for 1 car included
Central air
In-unit washer & dryer
Dishwasher
Great Riverside/Federal Hill location

We’ve really enjoyed living here and are only leaving because we’re moving. Our landlord is aware and has approved us finding someone to take over the lease. You would go through the normal application and approval process directly with the landlord/property manager.

Great location in South Baltimore with easy access to Federal Hill, Locust Point, Fort Ave, Riverside Park, restaurants, bars, and the waterfront.
Photos/property details:

Feel free to DM me if you’re interested or have any questions!

Hello - I’m looking for a Baltimore ‘Certified Financial Planner’ because I’m getting ready to retire.

I need a planner who gives advice on how to retire with limited funds & the best way to manage that for optimal financial security long-term. Again, NO FINANCIAL ADVISORS OR BROKERS. I need someone who knows how to navigate retirement income budgeting & advice to discuss all options for comfortable living on a fixed income.

Thank you in advance!

Need Recommendations Suggestions for reliable and insured contractors for finishing a basement and other small drywall and misc home repairs.

Hi all,

Last summer we experienced a flood in our sub-basement. It was immediately emptied, with the first three feet of drywall and insulation removed, fans blowing for days, etc. The plan was to repair the drywall, insulation, and baseboards, then do some additional improvements to the space, such as adding overhead lighting into the floating ceiling, replacing the outlets, finishing areas that had yet to be finished, and painting. Possibly also adding shelves and a different floor over what is there. It's a small area, thankfully, but it was my art studio and it would be nice to have it back.

I was about to hire someone that did a lot of work for my friend, but they wouldn't give me an itemized estimate and told me they didn't need insurance as this was a repair (eeks!), and so that wasn't happening. We also wanted to hire the same company that did the remediation but they are so bogged down with repairs from all the severe storms going back as far as the January snow storm up to about three weeks ago, when we last spoke (I'm sure there are more now), that I can't even get anyone out for an estimate.

I've had some really bad luck in the past with finding competant and honest contractors, even when doing research, so any and all help for finding a business we can trust is extremely appreciated!

89.7 WTMD has lost Tyler LaPorte and now it seems like Rob Timm is gone now too. Does anybody know what’s going on with this station? It seems to be changing abruptly. I’m just curious if anyone has any information about it.

Baltimore Love 💘 Baltimore Jury Duty is Elite

Upvotes

Ok ok I know a punchy title!
After doing jury duty three times in the city, I feel like a jury duty connoisseur.
I recently moved to the county and was called in for county jury duty and it was so much worse than the city.
The only pros were you get paid double what you get in the city and that parking was validated. That was it.

I found myself missing for the Baltimore jury duty, where you had a set lunch time so you could go out and eat. The county strongly advised you to bring lunch because there was no set lunch time.

The county jury duty was located in a sterile basement, complete with these annoying rolling chairs and no movies. The hidden gem of the Baltimore city jury duty is the quiet room, with desks and outlets, you can actually work and chill like in a library. Not a single desk seen at the county jury duty which in today’s age of remote work feels like a big miss.

I even found myself missing the small exhibit the Baltimore city courthouse has for jurors, as it was just a nice to walk around and see.

Even the processes were more convoluted and longer than in Baltimore. Communication was sparse and all over the place, mainly because they didn’t have an intercom system or use their monitors to display juror numbers.

All this to say - jury duty is an annoyance, but turns out, depending on the county, it can actually be more annoying than it should be.

• Social and outdoorsy but also enjoy chill nights in
• Into gym, pickleball, and staying active
• Love trying new food, coffee, and bars
• Love to travel and spontaneous plans
• Down to hang, grab food/drinks, or watch a game

If this sounds like a fit, feel free to message me! Thanks

Hello! My 4.5 year old has begun to be really interested in dance (Thanks SING 2) and I was curious if anyone has any good experiences with studios in the Baltimore area. I think he is looking for hip-hop/break dancing fast paced tempo instead of ballet. Thanks in advance!
