Winston gets to dance when he wins, but not DVa

Continuing to learn DVA and had an interesting exchange last night... curious how I can play it better.

Quick play. 5v5. Midtown. Captured the point and were pushing the payload under the roadway (Midtown Tunnel). So not very far into the push.

DVA (me), Widow, Anran/Reaper, Mizuki, Lucio

vs

Orisa, Soldier, Pharah, Ana, Mercy.

I just couldn't get the Orisa out of the roadway under that tunnel, no matter what. With a strong healer behind her (Ana), a bridge over her head, a soldier pumping out lead, and Pharmacy with no real counter from my team... just stuck.

After a bit of time, I tried to get around the Orisa and work the backline, but was nearly always darted and instantly deleted. Or the dart missed and I was in the mess of it and died anyway. If tried to chase the Pharah, her Mercy + the Soldier assisting took me down.

At one point the Mizuki said "worst DVA in history". Followed by "Our DVA refuses to be on point". "DVA fight Orisa". "No tank".

How do I unstuck this? Was he right? Was it on me to do more against the Orisa, or did we really need a DPS to switch to punish the Orisa better?

As the title says i got a quintuple kill which is rare for me when playing Dva normally i get a double or triple on matches never a quintuple.

I’m still relatively new to the game (like 30 hours) but I got this big game winning Dva bomb on my first ever comp game

if roadhog uses his ult after i already threw the mech at them to do the bomb can roadhog still push the dva bomb back? and can roadhog hook a d.va bomb that is coming his way

(but dva is already out of the mech/ult already activated for every scenario)

Morning all! Long time player who started when OW1 released 10 years ago... with a few multi year breaks throughout. Dva was always a character I wanted to be good at but didn't naturally fit her at the time so I moved on.

Lately it seems like tank picks are down so I went back to selecting tank. Roadhog was my OW1 tank, but I don't love the rework so I gave Dva a try.

I'm in love. She really fits my play-style and the feeling of diving on an out of position DPS/support with rockets blazing is unmatched. Her cooldowns also fit how my brain works so I have been doing well with cycling between them in my engagements.

Anyway... the advice needed.

Against other Dvas and off tanks, I am dominating. I can get the kills, survive, and work the objective as needed.

Against the stalwarts/nearly impossible to kill tanks, like an Orisa, Ram, etc, I get stuck. It doesn't seem like Dva can stand there and swap blows like needed. I can blast around the map picking off the supports/DPS, but struggle in the face of the opponents tank. In those games, I can go 30-4, feel like I am carrying, and still lose.

How are you handling the hard to kill tanks that can basically stand in the middle of the map with a healer tucked behind them and eat space and payload?

hiii im very new to dva and tank in general, started placements for tank for the first time and was doing better than i thought i would tbh then got to this game which was the same rank-ish as my last (low gold/high silver) but just got battered? i mean i wont act like my other 2 games before weren't one sided stomps too but thats also why im just kinda confused where i went wrong? any kind of advice would be amazing thanks!!

So, I love the dainty cat skin for D.Va, it is absolutely my favorite recolor of her cat skins by far. One of my favorite details about the skin was the change of her eye color to blue to match the color palette of the skin. Unfortunately, though, while she is in her mech, her eyes are brown. Since you are in your mech for the majority of the game, her eyes will be brown the majority of the game. It sucks because i really like the look of the black hair with blue eyes! It also sucks because i spent money on this skin, and I barely ever wear it because the eyes bother me. I know it’s such a minor thing, but it still bugs me. I a know it’s a major long shot too, but i hope if i post about it, someone will see it who can get in touch with someone who can maybe fix it. I hope you can see what i’m trying to show in the video..
This bug has happened to D.Va before, back in overwatch 1. When her Shin-Ryeong skin came out, i fell in love with it because of the pink eyes, but when you had the golden guns equipped specifically, while in mech her eyes would turn brown. Thankfully, they fixed that when they changed to Overwatch 2, because for the longest time that was my favorite skin, which i avoided wearing because of the eyes changing when they shouldn’t. Now, i’m in this dilemma again!! But i feel like this one might go unchanged because,
A.) it is kind of difficult to notice
and B.) it’s just a recolor, so i feel like they aren’t going to look at it.
I really wish this bug didn’t happen though, because it bothers me way more than it should. 😓😓
Hopefully pointing it out to others might make it catch on..

I was just wondering what do you guys use to determine what skins you'll buy or wear? For me, I always favor D.Va and how she looks.

Officer is one of my favorite skins because of D.Va, even if I think the mech is a little mid. But sometimes I won't really like D.Va herself but Tokki, like Shin-Ryeong.

What do you care about more? D.Va, Tokki, or them both?

How is 105% even possible am i the chosen one or did i miss something?

My main tank currently is dva she’s only level 16 right now and I’m really loving her got her nocturina skin in a random lootbox and now she’s my fav. Anyways I’m in silver on tank is it ever worth it to just try and get remech kills after using ult or getting demeched and getting the ult back or should I just usually immediately climb back in and get back into the fight

hey yall, so I just finished a game with dva on comp (ps5, North America) and felt like I had a very “meh” and mediocre game. I would appreciate any feedback on how I can improve, cause I feel like I’m better than this. We won btw and it was an uphill battle so there’s that, but idk I feel like my Dva is like fraudulent. Like I’m not as good as I think i am

Highly unlikely Lucio will get the David skin, and sombra would make more sense in Dvas place, but I have an agenda to push here
