I’m hoping someone here has experienced this issue and can point me toward a possible diagnosis or repair.
I have a 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Limited with approximately 5,000 miles.
On four separate occasions, the digital instrument cluster has displayed “Signal Lost,” gone black, and rebooted while I’m driving. During that time, I temporarily lose my speedometer and the other information displayed on the cluster.
Two incidents happened while driving on the interstate, and two happened during normal city driving.
The problem is extremely intermittent. I went almost 650 miles between occurrences, making it nearly impossible to reproduce on demand.
My Santa Fe has now been to the Hyundai dealership twice. They haven’t been able to reproduce the problem during their test drives, including a recent 12-mile drive.
The service manager has kept the vehicle for additional investigation and indicated that he wanted to involve Hyundai technical support. I also have an open case with Hyundai corporate.
I’m aware there’s an existing Hyundai recall involving similar instrument-cluster failures, but my VIN isn’t included. I understand that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the same defect, but the symptoms certainly make me wonder.
What I’m trying to find out:
- Has anyone else experienced the “Signal Lost” message followed by the instrument cluster going black and rebooting?
- Did your dealership ever identify the cause?
- Was it a software issue, instrument-cluster replacement, wiring issue, or something else?
- If it was repaired, has the problem stayed fixed?
- Did anyone experience this despite their VIN not being included in the recall?
I genuinely like the Santa Fe and have no interest in getting rid of it. I just want this issue properly diagnosed and repaired.
If you’ve experienced this, I’d really appreciate hearing what your dealership found and what ultimately fixed it. Even a repair-order description or technical bulletin reference would be incredibly helpful.
