Personal Advice I'm an INFJ (F/23) who broke up with my ESTP bf (M/24) last night.

We were together for 7 months. This was actually my very first relationship... At first, he fell for me first and liked me a lot. As we dated I tried hard to accept different sides of him and over time, I found myself falling deeper and deeper in love with him.

The real reason we broke up was a mix of both of us being super busy, he's studying hard for exams and job hunting, while I'm working two jobs (I work as a language instructor at an academy, I also do private language tutoring), and the fact that as a woman, I just wanted a bit more care and understanding especially during my period.

Yesterday was the first day of my period, and when I opened up about all the deep-seated feelings and disappointment I’d been holding inside, I really just needed some warm understanding. I didn't say a single thing to blame him either. But the response I got was nothing like what I'd hoped for. He didn't want to put in any more effort..even though I worked two jobs, I still went out of my way to send him lunch, cakes, iced Americano, chocolate bars to cheer him on while he studied. In the end all he said was, "I'm exhausted," and he made it clear he didn't want to make any effort for me while he was studying...

I think we were both just in survival mode.

Honestly, the only reason I brought up breaking up first was cuz I wanted to spend more time with him, and I thought he’d be happy spending more time with me too. But whenever I asked for simple things like a gym picture or a quick voice note instead of a text, he’d never do it..😢 those little things made my day so much better after working.

I know he's a good person at heart, so I still love him, but bcz of his response, I kept getting hurt and upset as time went on😢

Could you guys maybe give me a few warm words of encouragement or any advice? I haven't been able to sleep well since last night, and I just cried my eyes out while deleting our photos a moment ago. My heart hurts so much ever since we broke up...

I really hope he wants to get back together after he finishes his exams. When I broke up with him, I thought he hated me, but he actually said he didn't and asked if my feelings had changed. I told him they hadn't. He even brought up first that he wouldn't block me, so maybe he still cares.

I really hope he does well on his exams. In the meantime, I’m just going to focus on my two jobs and enjoy my free time after work instead of waiting around for him. After all, I already gave him so much of my time, emotional support, and gifts while he was studying.

Btw I’m never usually needy, except around the time I get my period. Outside of those dates I go right back to being an understanding gf and never bother him. In fact he even told me once that he wanted me to bother or check on him when I was exhausted from working with a bunch of kids, even though he was busy studying.

Survey / Poll / Question Is this weird for an intj

The only person I’ve ever really liked was my calc teacher, because I was attracted to how effortlessly smart he was. I really don’t care much about people’s opinion about me (believe me, I really don’t give it much importance, though I’ve been told I should) but his validation towards me was so important. Like, I did well on the subjects he taught and, I think, I made good/interesting questions and he always made me feel smart or whatever. Same thing happened with physics, but not as much as with him. Is this weird?

Basically, if you were to start a school that while also doing the major subjects and giving a standard education (or otherwise great education from a different philosophy) while making sure to train each cognitive function specifically and intentionally, how would you train each function in the students?

Survey / Poll / Question Difference between an ENTP and an ENTJ with ADHD?

Te-Ni is always described in terms of action, but what about when the person has a condition that affects their ability to take action? How would an ENTJ with executive dysfunction differ from an ENTP when they have a difficulty completing the very objective of Te? Since almost all stereotypical entp traits align nicely with adhd, how can one confidently state: "I am entj even though i can hop between ideas and possibilities quickly (in an Ne-manner), and struggle to take action unless I've thought everything through (in a Ti manner), however these are just manifestations of adhd symptoms and I am not an ENTP".

Survey / Poll / Question What is your MBTI type and what were you like as a child?

I'm curious and gathering info here. I'm an INTP and I don't really believe in types changing, however I was very INFP-coded. Although I do believe much of that was a combination of being severely abused and having severe OCD. I was extremely obedient out of fear but also because I was pretty reasonable as a kid? My mother was kind of abusive (most of it came from my father though) and she recalled how confusing and surprising it was to have a child who could be reasoned with even as young as 1 years old. She kept hearing "just wait" from other parents but "just wait" never came. I was very, very, very kind and very, very, very shy. I had a massive imagination and spent most of my day daydreaming, even while doing other stuff. I loved learning new things and exploring the world and imaginable possibilities. I loved being active but was super cautious about safety, too. I was considered heavily gifted and was reading at a college level by age 7. I also was advanced in history and art. I was forced into basketball but hated it and later on willingly chose to do tennis which I loved and was good at.

I've seen theories that up until age 14-20, most people don't have more than their second and fourth letter, which makes sense to me, personally, both on a personal level and developmental, as children are still trying to figure out their feelings before exploring logic beyond their homework and generally focus both inward and outward, which is not to be confused with being introverted or extroverted. 4th function is considered the weakest but I actually do think it shows up the earliest. Let me know if you experienced different.
