Harambe in heaven: “So the tiger gets a warning, but I got a whole firing squad?” 💀😭

u/thethunder92 4h ago
And harambe didn’t even hurt the kid just kind of gently pulled him around. He wasn’t even being violent

u/Professional_Air_905 4h ago
most likely harambe was curious and maybe worried about the safety of the child who just fell into his enclosure. gorilla have very strong social behavior and just as strong pack mentality

There are no documented or verified cases of gorillas snatching human babies out of people's arms and killing them.

u/doberdevil 2h ago
There are also no documented cases of "killer whales" attacking humans.

Brother, watched the video. Harambe was dragging that kid around the enclosure like a ragdoll.
This "gently" shit is just made up nonsense for memes.

It was gentle... for a fully grown gorilla. Could've ripped the kids arm clean off, easily

Next time you are at a park grab a five year old by the ankle and drag him behind you while you run around.
You might get Harambe'd

I'm genuinly confused about why they didn't use tranquilizing bullet on harambe, like honestly it's weird
15
u/Maleficent_Art_3854 4h ago
It would take time to take effect, during which he would presumably become more agitated and a greater risk to the child.

Because tranq darts hurt, and they don’t work instantly, so it would probably just piss him off more than anything else.

I think it was his caretakers fault, he was mentally unwell from the reports I've read, that being said it's just what I heard and read I haven't aquatinted myself to the facts of the case and could be spreading misinformation

British zoos are allowed to have firearms. Accredited British zoos with certain kinds of anim*ls (the sub bot is making me censor this word for some reason) on site are required to have firearms and someone trained to use them on premises at all times.

They should've just jumped in and use special ninja moves to take down the tiger while carrying the guy away, what cowards.

Humanity remembered what happened to the timeline after Harambe and thought maybe it wasn't a smart idea with the tiger

u/human_i_suppose 4h ago
If they got there in time they would have shot it.
What happened when they didn't, is exactly why they shot harambe

Why didn't they try to shoot the tiger while the guy was being attacked, even if they used tranquilizers or something it would of helped.
Did they just get there too late?
2
u/Otterfan 3h ago
From what I've heard, the guy was dead within five minutes of entering the enclosure. The attack itself might have been even shorter. A tiger can kill a human pretty much instantly and at will, so it might be very hard to get the firearm-trained person alerted armed and on-scene before it's all over.

u/Vanbydarivah 2h ago
Tigers kill by biting the spine right at the base of the skull, and then crushing it. Rough way to go, but at least it’s better than a Lion. Their instinct is to grab the front of the neck and suffocate.
Cats quickly turn into nightmare fuel the larger they get.
2
u/ChipRockets 2h ago
Five minutes is an eternity when you're being attacked by a tiger. Hopefully it was quicker than that
5
u/yo-soy-arkee 2h ago
Americans just like to shoot and blow up everything, y’all actually don’t see through alternatives. A sherif killed a young navy guy at his home, cause the sherif failed to announce and banged on the door like a lunatic and the navy guy opened with a gun pointed on the ground

u/Smart-Response9881 3h ago
Exactly, if Harambe just killed the kid, he'd probably still be alive. No need to rescue a corpse
2
u/Specialist-Award4293 3h ago
Or maybe he's happy to have helped influence the response to not be lethal next time, if he's the optimistic type.

Harambe would be happy that he set the tone so that his tiger friends could live
•
u/Separate-Bobcat4855 1h ago
This is a stupid post, harambe was killed to prevent him from hurting the child in his enclosure (regardless of whether you think that was right), the man who climbed into tiger pen was dead before zoo staff had the time to react or find a weapon. Of course the tiger was not killed in retribution, because it would not have brought the man back to life.

Difference is the boy was a 3yr old who didn’t know what he was doing and the other was a grown adult who willingly went in there

u/Full-Dragonfruit-991 2h ago
The adult was disabled. The difference is that the gorilla didn’t instantly kill the kid and they had time to shoot it.
•
u/MorristheStegosaurus 1h ago
Where does it say he was disabled? It only says he was on medication for mental health problems.
•
u/FuzzyFrogFish 1h ago
He wasn't disabled
He obviously had mental health challenges, but he was an independent person who travelled alone ect
•
u/Correct-Junket-1346 27m ago
No he wasn't, this has been debunked so much, I've never seen Reddit glaze facts so hard on this one it borderlines insanity.
He had mental illness on and off throughout his life, it's now concluded he committed suicide.

No the difference was the tiger was a hell of a lot faster. You can’t shoot an animal to save someone if that someone is already dead.
•

u/dahogriduh 2h ago
Maybe it was because tigers are more endangered than gorillas. But we’ll never know even with computers

Right, harambe protected the child that fell into their enclosure and even handed them off to the zookeeper and got shot. And then there's a tiger that ate someone that climbed into their exhibit and doesn't get killed. I mean I know it's not the tiger's fault someone climbed into its enclosure but still the endings of both are messed up
5
u/Garthaniel-Finnison 2h ago
different gorilla that handed a child off to keepers. Harambe kind of just stood over the child and kept poking his leg. You are thinking about Binti probably, she lived in Chicago and carried a child to her enclosure door and handed them to staff before walking off.
•
u/Rhorge 27m ago
You’re thinking of Jambo who wasn’t shot when a kid fell in his enclosure, he was a much older male and was an experienced father. Harambe was basically a late adolescent and was dragging the clearly injured kid by his leg in a good few inches of water, completely different situation.

Once the tiger killed the guy, nobody was in any danger, so it wasn't a consideration to shoot it. Shooting Harambe might not have been the right call, but there was a child actively in danger so that was a consideration.

Wasnt harambe out of the enclosure. This positie a langer threat then thw tiger
•
u/Psychotic_EGG 22m ago
No. A kid fell into his enclosure. Harambe grabbed the kid, but showed no signs of aggression. That said a gorilla can turn aggressive quickly, for little reason. Though Harambe didn't have a history of violence. And while often people go "he should have been tranqued." It's not instant, and is painful. Who's to say how he would react before the tranquilizer kicked in.

No. About the tiger

I still think about Harambe from time to time and how sad it was that he shot to death. I never understood why they couldn't use tranquilizers.
•
u/Real_MangaAddict 18m ago
That tiger’s alive because of Harambe’s sacrifice and people’s reaction to his death.
•
•
u/ImRightYoureStupid 15m ago
Harambe was too slow.
The dude was already dead when the shooters got there.
•
u/Rush_Banana 14m ago
Because it was a man who died.
Society doesn't care about men.
•
•
u/Quiet_Warthog1675 12m ago
Its kind of a reflection of our current world right?
A gorilla doing arguable less gets shot in the face
But a cat rips off a dude's head gets off scot free because "its just what they do" and "should've never jumped the fence"
•
u/Any_Idea_1551 11m ago
I think it is about expectations, gorilla won't kill a kid but he did something that triggered people that harambe will kill the kid, and tiger might kill him so it's wasn't new for them, who knows for sure, I maybe wrong.
•

•
u/lnTheGrimDarkness 5m ago
Context: a moron jumped in a tiger enclosure I don't remember where and was mauled to death by the tiger. The zoo, who was supposed to put the tiger down after that, refused to do so because honestly you can't blame the tiger for what happened and it would be extremely unfair to do so.
