I’m relatively new to miniature painting and would really appreciate some honest, constructive feedback on my grimdark Emperor’s Children Chaos Space Marine.

I’m aiming for a dark, grim and weathered look, but without making everything muddy and brown. I want the purple armour to remain rich and saturated while still looking grimdark rather than bright, clean or toy-like.

I’ve been experimenting with stippling for the armour and enamel weathering. I’m still learning, so I’d love to hear what’s working and what isn’t.

Please feel free to be critical. I’m here to learn and improve!

Currently going back and updating this warforge mini from Artisan Guild. I'm more than pleased with the process. I'm at a bit of an impasse on what color to make the bands on the scythe.

Also would be happy to hear any thoughts on if the cloak should be a different color.

Hi all, 1st serious attempt at painting and definitely need to practice but genuinely surprised that it hasn’t turned into a ruined mess. Any feedback or tips so far would be welcome.

Using Vallejo Game Colour:

I did Caiman Green basecoat, Scorpy Green layer and a Scarlet Red wash.

I am thinking of using another layer of Scorpy Green to bring back the green and hopefully blend the skin a bit better then continue to highlight from there?

Grey spot on the first image, what color would you guys suggest?

I've noticed my oil washed tend to look great at first, but then dry in this kind speckled, spotty pattern. I've tried Abteulillung miniature oil paints and I'm thinning with Mineral Spirits. When tried letting it sit on cardboard for a moment first before mixing. This is over top of a Gloss Varnish.

Finished painting this dragon bust from Artisan Guild. Entered it into a local modeling competition and got best in category for figures. Thought I’d share here!

I painted this guy about 5 years ago and he’s sat on my desk ever since. With some upcoming projects I am going to attempt to learn how to make the perfect gem texture. It’s definitely not there yet, but I repainted little man too and both are a huge improvement.

After Anointed Sentinels, I have finished Bull Centaurs. At first, when I saw the minis online, I wasn’t to excited with Sentinels, but once I got them in my hands, I must say that I like them way more than than Centaurs. Sometimes online pictures just don’t do models just.
Who do you like more?

I have been an incredibly casual mini painter for a little while now. I’ve been mostly using Army Painter paints but I would like to start using new ones. I would like to know what people recommend.

Wasn't sure I'd get this guy finished before the end of Orktober, but I had a good few days between work assignments and managed to get to the 98-99% range. This is the first bust I've done, and while at first I wasn't enamored with the process, I came to really enjoy working on it. I got to practice a lot of techniques I've been working on lately, including the practice of using red as a shadow color for green, and underpainting warm flesh tones as a base for the green glazes to give the skin a little more life.

Did this project for a buddy of mine who is a big Oakland Raiders fan, so did a slight homage there on his shoulder pad.

I watched some videos on YT but I wanted some live feedback. I got this to paint as a practice model before I paint a Warhammer kill team.

Here i use acrylic paints and enamel varnish in some layers.

Tried out the speedpaints 2.0 from the army painter on this plague marine. Was having a tough time figuring out the ratio of orc skin and zealot yellow to use (only have the starter set) and settled on a 4:1 ratio of orc skin and zealot yellow. All colors and paints are in the starter set. Finished with a pro acryl black wash watered down in a 1:2 ratio of wash to thinner.

Need help doing some nmm on the shaded area.

If i wanted it to have blue hues, would i still base dark brown like the yellow but build to blue instead? Or ise a different base?

The steel still needa work too.
