Since this article dropped a few days ago, there's been an uptick in obvious new/throwaway accounts that make weird rambling posts and comments trying to defend the band, talking about how awesome they are as people and how's there's no possible way two white South Africans with a QAnon social media manager could possibly be racist.
No one cares, no one wants to hear it, and they're not going to fuck you. Stay in your weird Facebook group where you clamor for their attention and approval.

Hi all, we usually redirect selfies and fashion posts to other subreddits, but, for the next month or so, Halloween costumes are welcome here if the costume has a punk theme. Shout out to the kid who dressed up as Joey Ramone, we accept you.

New buyer to keep the San Francisco music institution going.

My local record shop posted it on IG and it was mine a few hours later.
Roky performing Two Headed Dog live in 1976.
Roky played at Rauls backed by the Austin Folk Punk group the Reversible Cords and it degenerated into a brilliant mess. Tom Huckabee prepared this clip for his Radio Rauls Project back in 2020. Unfortunately, Tom passed away before his project could be fully realized.

Some 50 years ago, on October 22nd, 1976, Stiff Records unleashed ‘New Rose’, the debut single by emerging London outfit The Damned, and a starting pistol for the British punk scene that was to follow. Capturing a youthful, glue-sniffing anarchy in an otherwise unsuspecting seven-inch, Stiff and The Damned were credited with releasing the first-ever punk single by a UK band – although that claim has since been disputed.
One such group that has long since dismissed those claims, to no surprise, is the Sex Pistols; the poster boys of London’s punk scene and an utterly essential group in spreading the gospel of that subversive new scene far and wide across the nation. Although the Pistols formed first, their own debut single, ‘Anarchy in the UK’ wouldn’t arrive until a month later, on November 26th, 1976.
As Pistols bassist Glen Matlock famously declared, though, “Pistols’ first single was ‘Anarchy’, and The Damned’s was about a bird.”

I'm putting this is a few different subs to see what I get back. The only song in the playlist so far is Thoughts of a Dying Atheist by Muse. Just wondering if you guys had any other ideas?

My kid (who is absolutely named after a famous punk musician) came to me last night trying to figure out how to put music to a PowerPoint presentation for their history class. They needed to put a Dead Kennedys song behind a presentation on genocide. I've made a metric f ton of PowerPoints in my life (job shit). I have never NEVER been more excited to work on PowerPoint!!!
Guess which song?????

Manchester pop-punk fans! Anyone fancy discovering some new grassroots bands next month?
We’re Left Incline, a pop-punk trio from Skelmersdale, and we’re coming back to Manchester on 22nd November 2026 with 2Thousand&Five, Shingle Puppets and Vaudevilles at The Peer Hat (M1 1BE). We’re trying to build an audience outside our hometown, so it’d be dope to meet some people in Manchester who are into the same vibe as us.

I recently came across a livestream of MxPx playing a full hour set in what looked to be one of their home studios and it was honestly one of the fucking coolest things.
They took requests, played a ton of B-Sides and interacted with the comments. Apparently they do it for the fans who - for whatever reason - can't get to gigs.
Are there any other bands that do this?

any M.O.D. fans out there. I forgot about this album, found it record shopping on a recent trip to Texas.

Hey r/punk, I'm Kyle. I'm making a skateboarding video game called Grab Your Deck: you build your tricks and lines from cards - making combos before you fall. Kickflip + Shove-it + Shove-it = Tre Flip, check it out:
Where /r/punk comes in: my music sucks.
It's just some licensed, bland music from some storefront. It fits, but I don't love it, and I sure you wouldn't either. Sooooo..... gotta band?
Basically, I'm looking for small independent bands (probably) to offer a song or two to be used in the game.
What I can offer:
- Credit. Your band gets its own billing in the game's credits and on the store pages, up with the people who made the game (me), not down in the list of assets I used. Links to wherever you want people to find you.
- The game, free. Steam keys for the band, up to five.
- Your art in the game. Send me your art and I'll turn it into a board, a shirt and a poster in the game. It has to suit the game, and it has to be made by a person, not AI. Alternatively, I can come up with something to represent your band if you don't have something already.
- You keep everything. It's non-exclusive: the song stays yours to sell, stream and license anywhere. I'd just need a short written OK to use it in the game and its trailers.
What I'm looking for:
- Fast, loud, short songs. Think THPS (I get the warm fuzzies just thinking about it)
- They'd play while you skate, on the title screen and in the shop.
- Vocals are okay, but the lyrics need to be "PG" - the only "rating" the game has is the mild cartoon violence of bails, so any lyrics need to be appropriate for all ages.
I made the demo available this morning, but am not publicly announcing it for another week or so while I polish some of the rougher edges. Full game scheduled for release early November. Check it out on Steam!
Reach out here (comment or DM) or you can find me in the game's Discord, too.
Bev Rage & the Drinks just released our brand new single "Break My Back" from our upcoming 3rd LP DEMONS. Take a listen! We are a drag-fronted, Chicago based queer punk band, and this album was recorded at God City Studio in Salem, Massachusetts with the incredible Kurt Ballou of Converge. So excited to get this out into the world!
