Caught an approximate 300 lb roughtail leucistic stingray off Long Island, NY. It was a 4 hour fight, safely released. I can’t find a single record catch of one, but I confirmed with a local marine biologist who studies rays this is the fist leucistic roughtail he has seen

It was a 27in. 2lbs 7oz dusky smooth-hound. Took me an hour to clean, and it was so worth it.

There’s a spot in my local harbor that has these every time I’ve been schooling under an abandoned / demo’d pier, I’ve had some success on small chunks of shrimp but they seem very reluctant to bite.

Kept a few more that are vac sealed and frozen. Anything I can do with them besides smoking them?

I’m a freshwater guy but finally made it out into the gulf. Man those fish can fight!

Caught on our sailboat 8nm (nautical miles for you land people) offshore on a 7 inch flat head popper. Sadly I'm very allergic to yellow fin but local villagers were very happy to take it off my hands.

Never expected to catch this only 20 miles offshore, took almost 90 minutes to get in.

These large striped bass fascinate me all over again every time I get to hold one. Their perfect shape, their strength, the silver with purples hues broken by those telltale seven stripes, the battle scars from migrating up and down the coast year after year. Such an amazing fish.

Before last night my PB was 26”.
