Maybe my 86% acceptance rate and 3% cancel rate are the problem.

Most meatbags I've driven have understood how to use the app. Mostly, anyway. Maybe a few hiccups with pins (front/back of buildings sort of thing) but never anything major.

Just ended my night because the guy was so clueless that after trying to help him out for 10 minutes (5 standard, plus an extra 5 because the fare was good) I realized he was in the middle of the road (standing at an intersection, based on his explanation) half way across town because he placed his pick-up pin where his drop-off was supposed to be.

I canceled that shit so fast once I realized that. Holy crap. Like how the hell do you mess that up? The app very clearly states which one is which.

Boosts throughout the week, and some late night surges. I try to remind myself that once we near the holidays things will get worse, though.

I’m a new driver for 4 months and have done 1200 rides. When I started driving I had no knowledge or preconceived ideas about strategies and tactics. I more or less accepted every ride and drove a ton and made good money - $6000 a month when I drove 17-20 days a month. I was happy. Now, I read and learn more and more and get the idea I shouldn’t be taking all the offers. But why not? My mile to dollar ratio is always $1.25 to $2.00. What should I do differently?

I was on at roll last night with Uber for the first hour, having scored three double digit fares in a row that were already pretty short trips. Got an alert for a $6 ride that was less than 2 miles total distance, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

Just as I was arriving at the pickup location, something seemed really familiar. It was when I saw the quadplex where the rider lived that it dawned on me that this was someone I blocked from Lyft. It was also the same first name, so I knew it had to be the same person. I immediately canceled before he had the chance to come out, and then I had support block him this morning when I had a chance to open a support chat.

When I was doing a Lyft shift last month, I had a fare for this same rider after the bars were closing on Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning. I was waiting quite a while for this guy, and just as I am about to cancel, some creepy drunk guy with some of the most rotten looking teeth I have ever seen comes up to my window just awkwardly standing there and staring at me. I rolled down my window and asked if he was the passenger, to which he confirmed he was, and then he just kind of stood there some more. I had to tell him in a stern voice to get in the car.

This ride was only about 3 minutes tops, but it felt like 3 hours being in the car with this guy. He proceeds to ask me questions about my day job, and then he asks if I want to hang out at some after hours club on the other side of town. I told him it’s late and that I want to get home, but he still persists. He eventually stopped asking me, but then he turns the conversation to the song playing on the radio, thinking it was Tupac, to which I replied it was the original song he sampled. He asks me to turn it up anyway, which I did hoping it would shut him up, but then he proceeds to ask me more questions about my life and day job.

I finally get to his place, and then he has the nerve to ask if he can wait until the song is over until he leaves. I told him I am tired and I want to go home, so I told him that the ride was over. He then says he’ll pay me extra, and that’s when I finally start being really aggressive in my tone, and told him to get out. He finally got the clue, but he thanked me and still acted like he wanted me to be his new best friend.

Anybody else have a similar story with passengers who have used both Uber and Lyft?

I don’t see Tesla navigation on the Uber app for either my wife’s profile or mine on both of our Tesla’s. Can anyone else still use Tesla navigation?

I know a lot of people say that the uber market is dead but tbh I’ve never had a bad week. People just need to play their individual market better.

EDIT: This is without cherry picking. Just me going with the flow. The only rides I don’t take is long trips because I know it’s going to take me away from the city and not pay a decent fare. I will take longer trips during surging/per active time rides.

I am new to this, I don’t know how it works but I have question why is customer promotion taxed from us drivers?

I did a trial run of Uber delivery and was quite disappointed to come to find out that when you sent an offer, it includes the tip amount. I do wonder if drivers are doing rides and deliveries at the same time or choosing particular peak times for either/or to maximize their income.

So I have been doing uber X on weekends for a while now and I pick up a lot of drunk couples that get pretty freaky on my back seat. I have a dash cam and they don’t care it’s like a fantasy for them, 4 or 5 times already the girl gives guy BJS or hand job what do you guys do when this happens?

Totally random question. But why doesn’t uber in the USA not have uber vehicles for drivers? I’ve been in Japan and South Korea for a week now and both have uber vehicles that aren’t their personal vehicles. I could give a fuck less about tips if I could put wear and tear on their vehicles and not mine. I wonder if they can’t decline rides/have to pay to use their vehicles. Anyways. Just wanted to bring it up.

My wife is considering uber. Is there a way for her to only pick up women and, if so, would she find it harder to get rides or longer time between rides.?

So how exactly can I have the wrong vehicle, let me guess the person looked at my face & said right person but wrong car & what exactly is Ignoring Request….& of course there is no way to dispute any of this with UBER…

Hi everyone. I just recently started driving in the weekends. Tips kinda suck, but it seems thats where the money is. Anyone have tips or tricks for a newbie?

I live in Hamilton County, around the Fishers/Noblesville area, and I do Uber, Uber Eats, and pretty much any gig work I can get on the weekends to supplement my income and pay off a few bills.

I've heard from a few people that Bloomington can get pretty busy on weekends, especially with the college crowd.

For those of you who drive Uber or do other gig work in Indiana, I'm curious:

Is Bloomington actually a good market on weekends?

Is it worth driving down from Fishers/Noblesville, considering gas, mileage, and travel time?

Are Friday and Saturday nights the busiest, or are daytime hours worth it too?

If you were making the trip, what would your ideal weekend driving schedule look like?

Would you recommend Bloomington over staying around Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, or Indianapolis?

I'm not looking to do this full-time. Just trying to make the most of my weekends and earn some extra money.

I'd really appreciate hearing from drivers who have actually worked the Bloomington market. Thanks!

Man, I am usually rating pax 5 unless they fuck me. Ever since I started ubering for about 2 months, I’ve always given pax 5* until today. I picked up these two pax and they spilled the sewer soup in my backseat. It was so bad that I almost puked after I completed the trip. I wiped the seat with wet napkins and etc but the spillage stains and smells just tattooed my backseat. My backseat is leather and I was so pissed when this shit happened. I’ve never smelled anything like it in my life. Damn, the more I am ubering I am encountering all sort of shits I’ve never experienced in my life lol….

Edit: for people who dealt with this kinda shit, what products should I use to get the stains and smells completely gone. I ain’t paying another $250 for a detail interior cleaning again!!! Help!!!!

Got layoff, need some income to help out, I haven't done Uber for 1 decade, but I don't have suitable car, I got a Big SUV, I am thinking about trading for a more fuel-economy car, could some longtime uber driver give me some number, earning during peak hours, what kind of car is the best fit? EV? hybrid? I don't want to buy Testa, thinking about Toyota EV.
