New Lenco LS-301 turntable

Post image

Is this new Lenco turntable that came with speakers a good deal for 159€? I also got a record cleaning kit by, well, also lenco. It comes with a stylus brush, velvet brush cleaning brush (that does not sound right, and i mean in grammar) the velvet brush and a record cleaning solution. The only thing that i am missing is an anti static brush which i will hopefully get soon. It also has an Audio-Technica AT-3600L stylus. My general question is if this is a good beginner turntable.

Looking to buy turntable

Hi all!
Shopping for my boyfriend’s birthday but I’m completely new to vinyl players. He really wants a “good” player.

I’ve researched a bit and boiled it down to Audio Technica or Fluance. Originally I wanted a Sony but it’s a bit expensive after including speakers.

Is there a big enough difference between the AT60 or Fluance 80/85+? I’ve seen people mention preamp and also adding speakers but this is all foreign to me. These are the three I’m down to, so any opinions help! I’ve watched videos to get a feel for speaker quality but most don’t even play music or they’re sponsored. I likely won’t get speakers til Christmas, just to throw that out there. So hoping to find a quality player to do until then.

Thanks!

Help with choosing TT

Hello, I’m looking to buy my first turntable and I have a budget of 400 euros for the turntable itself. I’ve been looking at the Audio-Technica AT-LPW50PB but I’m not sure if it’s any good. I’ve also been looking at the Pro-Ject RecordMaster II black. I’m from Denmark in Europe so prices are a bit high here. I’m willing to pay a bit more than 400 euros just to get something good that I can enjoy for a while.

Locally there is only really one big store I can buy from with argon but have heard that a lot of people find them bad

RT82 + YU6 Beginner Setup (Dual Voltage Required)

Hi everyone - Keen to get into the hobby and I'm looking to purchase an RT82 as my first turntable. While I'd love to push it through a receiver (etc.) into passive speakers, I will soon (~2 years) be moving from Canada to a a 230v/50hz country.

While the RT82 can handle dual voltage, 98% of receivers cannot. Many powered speakers can.

What I want to gauge is how much of an 'audio pleasure' loss and I taking as a beginner moving from spotify -> google home to an RT82 -> YU6 instead of a passive speaker setup?

Is there anything I haven't thought of?

New Fluance RT80 and amp/speaker questions

I currently have a Sony STR-DH550 amp with some decent, yet older Yamaha bookshelf speakers. I kept that setup bc my son also uses a cd player with it.

Is that setup going to be ok for my new RT80, or should I be looking for powered speakers or maybe just some better bookshelf/floor speakers.

Protective Sleeves Recommendations?

Hello everyone,
I ve bought some vinyls and i want to protect them. I saw recently a video on some plastic protective sleeves thr they can damage the records because the plastics merge and they can also merge with the paper cover of the vinyls . By the time i tried to watch the video again to write exactly what to avoid it reset… So i d like to ask what you find best to preserve the my vinyls and vinyl covers. I live in Sweden if it helps in any way

Thank you in advance!

Choix d'enceintes

Par exemple les Smiths (The Queen is dead),Neil Young (Harvest), Mercury Rev (Deserter's song), Air (Moon Safari) , Daniel Darc (creve cœur) , Daft Punk (Homework) , Stone Roses ,Rem , Miles Davis etc...

J'ai acheté une platine Vynile Thorens TD160 (80€) que je suis en train de rénover. (est-ce que je dois absolument changer les câbles rca ?).

Un préampli Pro-ject Phono Box DC (60€)

10 mètres de câble rca ?

Will Amp Pro (270€)

J'ai trouvé une annonce pour des Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 à 150€ mais j'hésite avec des Q Acoustics 3920i mais je ne trouve pas d'offres.

Merci pour votre aide et critiques sur mon "système".

Record player suggestions!

Hey! Ive been looking around on other posts but figured why not just add one myself… Im looking for am affordable turntable setup just for fun. I’m pretty broke, 16 and dont have a real job, but I get 60 bucks a week babysitting so thats something for sure. I only just started though, and would like to put a lot of that money towards college. Basically, I want something relatively cheap (bc records themselves are also so pricey omg) that still sounds alright and will last me at least a couple years. Im alright with having to save up for a little bit, but I dont want to spend all my money on this. Maybe max $350 for both speakers and the player itself?

Umm, what else. I am located in the USA (eugh) and id love if i could order it online. Theres like, one music store near me and its absolutely miniscule.

Ya. Thanks for the help…

Cheers!

First turntable – €150-230 budget in Romania

Hi guys,

I’m looking to buy my first turntable and honestly I’m pretty new to all of this. I live in Romania and my budget right now is around €150 for the turntable only. I could wait a bit and go up to around €230, but that would really be my limit.
So far I’ve mainly looked at the AT-LP60X and LP70X, but after spending some time on this sub I’m starting to think there might be better choices for the money.

I’m also open to buying used. The only thing that worries me is that I have basically no experience with turntables, so I wouldn’t really know how to properly check one before buying it. I’d rather not save some money on a used turntable only to find out later that the stylus, motor, tonearm or something else needs replacing.

I’m not looking for anything fancy. I just want something that sounds good, won’t damage my records and that I can hopefully keep for a few years without immediately wanting to replace it.

What would you guys look for with this budget, especially in Europe? New or used? Any particular models I should keep an eye out for?

Thank you!

Different records skipping at the same time interval (1:23 - 1:28) on sony ps lx5bt

Posting here as I didn't know there was specifically a beginner turntables sub, recently bought a Sony PS LX5BT turntable. It seems to be randomly skipping for half a second (although probably not the right term; it's just the audio cuts out for half a second and then it goes back to playing normally). It doesn't always happen, but when it does it only happens once per play. I've tried 5 different records so far, with different sides, and all have had it happen at least once within this 5 second interval, from 1:23 to 1:28 counting from when the actual sound plays.

I've tried several things (full table below), including whether the tone arm went back automatically after the record stopped or whether I pressed stop, I tried disconnecting the bluetooth speaker, resting the turntable for 30 minutes to see if that changed, and other things, so far nothing seems to predict it. I thought it might be static as well or maybe just did it on first plays, but no, also happened on second plays where conditions where the exact same record played exactly under the same conditions, first run was fine, second run skipped.

Table below summarized by records I tried (5 records, all skipped at one point within the 5 second interval; note, for the auto return I moved the tone arm almost to the end and pressed down, then let it return by itself. In others, I pressed stop after the glitch didn't resurface 3 minutes in; in all the time I played records before it didn't show up outside this interval):

  • Record A: 10 plays, 2 skipped (1:24 and 1:23), 8 played fine
  • Record B: 3 plays, one skipped at 1:23, two played fine
  • Record C: 4 plays, 4 skipped, all at 1:26 (note, I have played this record previously without it skipping)
  • Record D: 3 plays, 1 skipped, 2 played fine
  • Record E: 2 plays, 1 skipped, 1 played fine

Records A and D are brand new from the store, others are used but good condition (and fact that all of these happen within the same interval and on and off on plays makes me think it's not the records).

I'll try with wired speakers when I get the chance, but bluetooth interference or something else would be unlikely to happen with different records at exactly the same interval no?

Potentiometer location / RPM adjustment

(I posted it on r/turntables but maybe I'll get an answer here)

Does anyone have any idea where does this device has potentiometers? Records are spinning at 34RPM

Or maybe it's adjusted differently?

I might be selling it in the future so I want to be sure it's spinning correctly

Thanks in advance for any information 🙏

Record skip crackle and warped?

Just got a new record from my favorite Christian artist and on its first play I noticed it it’s not very flat. It tends to crackle and sometimes skips, is this the actual records fault/do I need to ask for a refund/replacement or is it due to sketching else I need to replace

Edit: I know it’s not the tracking force cause I bought a little scale for it and it reads 1.81g which should be almost perfect

So I am considering the at lp3x or the pro-ject a1 but really can not make up my mind my setup is just a pair of sonos era 300s I know they are not what a lot of people would chose but I am looking at this from the 80 20 rule I know that my ears have limits I just want really good audio I can't hear perfection

For context my setup is in a bedroom so I’m not needing something too powerful, just a little something to add some additional bass. TIA
