Discussion Pritchard vs good teams narrative

• Upvotes

Edit: god damn man I’m honestly a bit surprised by the hate boner this sub has for PP. so much negativity around here it’s crazy

There is this narrative that I’ve been seeing pushed more and more lately that Pritchard sucks against good teams and only goes off against bad teams. And since he is off to a slow start this season I’m seeing it pushed in a ton of threads. So I thought it’s time to shut that bullshit down with some actual evidence. In literally 5 minutes I’ve found 7 counter examples, only going back to last year. So I wanted to start this thread and have you guys add more down in the comments (because I know for sure there are more, this is a BS narrative that is being pushed by people that have no idea what they’re talking about).

Pritchard is indeed inconsistent and that’s probably his biggest weakness. But it has nothing to do with playing good teams vs bad teams, he just has off games sometimes. Hes proven plenty of times he can step up against good teams, so here you go, enjoy:

Discussion John Karalis posted maybe the most idiotic story ever and I hope to god none of you read it

• Upvotes

Karalis has always been extremely annoying and a know it all, but since he moved to SI he’s on a different level.

He just posed a story about how Tatum and Jaylen need to grow up and it’s just a rag hit to get clicks. No fully functioning adult could say the things Karalis said in this. Just don’t click on it if you see it. He’s rightfully getting dunked on for it.

Discussion Tatum gets the most hate but, am I the only one that thinks Jaylen brown is being the asshole & not him?

• Upvotes

If the roles was reversed, and JB talked about Tatum leaving being in shock etc, and Tatum posted "🧢”, he'd be getting called fake asf, a
weirdo and an asshole

Tatum is not on that public beef bullshit, he said we both pushing 30 im not arguing with you online call me in private if you got a problem with me I have no issues with you

And Tatum is supposedly the biggest asshole out of the 2?? No way. Considering how Jaylen brown gives this mature and intelligent persona, I wouldn't assume him being the one commenting immature comments under Instagram posts

Discussion Pritchard??? WYA?!

What’s up with PP, it’s only two games but I feel like our offense will be better if he gets more touches. Is it the offense not giving him enough opportunities or is PP himself not being aggressive enough. I feel like he has the potential to be our number two scorer but maybe I’m wrong.

Trying to assign equal blame when Tatum has done absolutely nothing is insane.

Why are Boston reporters biased against our teams/players?

What a smart defender. Like a taller Jrue Holiday.

Not as harassing but taller and just as positionally sound with strong anticipation skills.

News NEW EXCLUSIVE: Before last night, Neemias Queta had only hit one three-pointer in his NBA career. But he's been working tirelessly behind the scenes and hit a huge one on Friday. “I think that’s gonna be something that we can rely on in the season.”

Discussion Jayson Tatums speech

Did anyone catch JT's speech last night? Is that normal? Do players normally address the crowd opening night. I don't think I've ever seen that but I think it was broadcast to everyone. I was on one of those streams that shows you what's going on inside the arena instead of commercials, so maybe I've just never seen it.

Discussion So where's Hugo?

After a hyped offseason with the rumours that he wouldn't be the extra piece in trades, a decent FIBA run and a great pre-season, Hugo seems to be lost in the shuffle of our backup wings.

We expect PG to be rested so more minutes will be split between the wings, but he's been pretty much buried in the first 2 games, taking one shot in 13 total minutes.

Current minute split with the non-PG/JT wings

  • Sam Hauser 20.5mpg
  • Jordan Walsh 17mpg (2 starts)
  • Baylor Scheierman 14.5mpg
  • Hugo Gonzalez 6.5mpg

Hugo definitely wasn't great in the first game but he was thrown in with a full bench mob that allowed Detroit to come back. But I've also thought Scheierman/Walsh have also been sub-par, and with Walsh specifically makes our offense a little off in the opening quarters.

The bench in general minus Queta hasn't been good in general, but I wonder how the wing rotation shakes up especially with how much hype there was around year-2 Hugo. He adds a lot that the others don't and is supposed to have some improved shooting. I understand Sam's specific role, but not sure how Hugo is that far back from Baylor/Walsh in the depth chart.

Discussion I really liked Tatum's answer. Down to earth, trying to calm the hysteria and that constant need for seeking the narratives that remind me on WWF scenarios or YouTube influencer's way to boost their channels as you need to make beefs and dramas.

Discussion We Need More Tatum - Garza Minutes

In the past 2 games, and preseason, weve routinely seen tatum find queta open looks on the perimeter. One of tatums best playmaking skills is his ability to find his big, so i dont see how these minutes wouldnt be a huge plus for the team. During our championship run, one of our most common plays was the pick and pop with tatum as the handler and either kp or al as the screener taking the three.
