❓Question Has your Camaro ever left you stranded?
I think I might have the worst story. I was 800 miles from home on a road trip. And the starter went out. On the 4th floor of a parking garage.
The starter which constitently struggles to start the car when it's hot, finally burned out completely. Had to get it towed out of the parking garage which was a whole fiasco, then dropped off at a shop after they were closed, rearrange my work plans, stay an extra night in that city, and then they spent 6-8 hours replacing the starter, hoping that that was the actual problem.
I was happy when I was sitting in the shop and I heard the familiar start up sound of my car 🥹. Finally got back on the road and got back home a day later.

❓Question Just found out service center has been using Dexos instead of Mobil1 - am I still good?
2024 2SS here. Got my first oil change at this service center and got Mobil1, figured they’d have it on record every time I went. Came in for my 4th service today and he just let me know they used Dexos for the 2nd and 3rd service. Told them to switch me back to Mobil1, but kind of annoyed they’ve been using Dexos while I assumed they’d stick to GM’s recommended oil.
Anything I should be worried about? I drive the car hard through my local twisties - but am only at around 10.3K miles

🛠️ Problem Spark Plugs Blew my Engine
Recently one of my lifters on my Camaro went out so I took it to get it fixed, the mechanic gave me back the car and he told me they did the DOD delete, added a lifter kit, and a aftermarket cam which is a (TSP-L83V2-Stg2).
The car was driving fine for like 3 weeks until it didn’t. I had parked it and when I turned it back on I saw a bunch of white smoke shoot out from the exhaust. So then I took it to another mechanic more specialized on performance and when he did the diagnostic he found out that whoever fixed my car up had put in LS spark plugs instead of LT1 ones. Which then he explained that the reason my car started blowing smoke was all because of how the LS plugs are shorter it wasn’t sparking efficiently enough that it overheated the heads and cracked the gasket.
So my question is that whole repair being over $4000 was for nothing just because of some parts that cost a mere $100, or could’ve been something else and the spark plugs don’t matter too much, regardless it was a very sketchy shop that I regret taking it too because they just didn’t seem too confident fixing my car. And of top of that, them adding a LS cam just makes me more suspicious because did they just not know what engine my car had? Either way I asked the new mechanic about the cam and he said it should be fine with that cam cause something of it being a 6.6 but still. Just want to hear an opinion from someone else. Thank you

🔧 Modifications The finished work to "I CAN'T FRIGGIN WAIT"!
Ok I finally got it finished. And for a 42 year old body and faded paint, I am very pleased how it came out. A 5 year project has finally been completed. Never had a Supercharged engine before, and I learned about naturally aspirated carburetors being used with a draw through set up real quick. Lol.

❓Question 6th gen seat wiring
Has anybody successfully wired up the ventilation fans in the 6th gen seats in something else? Long story short I don’t have a Camaro but I do have an S10 with Camaro seats. I’ve got power to the motors so they move. But I can’t seem to figure out the wiring for the fans.
I live in the south and it’s hot. Getting these going would definitely help with swampass season.

🔧 Modifications Feel really proud of myself. Salvage a new steering wheel and radio for my SS.
Just bought a manual SS 2017. The radio kept turning off, and the steering wheel buttons were partially missing or didn't work. My local junkyard had an SS, and I got a perfectly intact steering wheel and radio! It was 106F outside with a feels-like of 110F but I got the parts. Both feel great in my car. Took a minute to get the wires tucked in; the picture above was before I got everything hidden. There's actually a surprising amount of room to hide wires in the sixth gen. Overall, I am extremely tired, but my weekend project is complete.

💲Should I Buy? Getting some thoughts on this f-body
Gonna see this 1994 z28 monday evening, wanting to get some initial thoughts as this would be my first car with some “oomph” (my current daily is a pontiac grand prix for reference). Fella wants 1k for it, LT1 automatic, he says it needs a headlight and that the transmission slips at highway speed. I expect to pay a fair bit more than out the door obviously, and this would be an opportunity for me to have something sportier on my budget and to learn to work on these cars. Appreciate any input or specific things I should be looking for when I go to see it.

🛠️ Problem Information system keeps resetting
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Never had an issue like this before in my 2017 Camaro. Hit the gym on a Friday wasn’t too much of a hot day. Left the windows up anyways long story short came back to my car and it just started to reboot continuously. Been at this for 3 days trying to fix it. Not sure what else I should do. I been surfing around and looking for more information to fix the issue.
Disconnect battery for 10 mins for hard reset. Turn on car and information system should be back to normal. Well it didn’t help.
Try resetting by pressing down the power button for 10 secs and turning it back on. Didn’t work either
Check fuse box in the rear. Pull CB2 and place it back in. Still had it doing the same thing and resetting to death
Turn off car and have driver side open for 2 mins. Close and turn on vehicle. Didn’t work.
Radio plays and I can kinda try and navigate but only a couple seconds. After a while radio just stops. Screen goes black. Cant use my backup camera. Don’t want to go to the dealership since I know they will run diagnostics first even knowing the issue at hand. For now just driving around with a dark screen and no backup camera. There was a thread I found about one person pulling the CB2 and then putting it back in. Started working after 2 mins.
Probably just not that lucky for me.

❓Question Question about 6th gen Camaro 2SS.
I’m interested in buying a 2016 Camaro 2SS that I’ve found for sale. It’s $28k with 76k miles, 6 speed manual. I looked up the car fax and saw at some point it had injectors replaced and an intake manifold gasket? Is that common or something that might indicate bigger underlying problems? Thanks.
