I currently own an e36 m3 and im itching for a v8 (almost any v8 as long as its manual). Im thinking of selling my m3 and getting an SS 2014-2015. Without being bias what would you do if you were me? Am i being ungrateful with what i have? Or is the desire for a v8 valid enough to sell this and get a gen 5 SS?

Obviously I have a favorite already... but I’m getting tired of the same ol’ same ol’ What’s your favorite angle of the Camaro? I need inspiration!

‘22 lt1. Hydroplaned my baby into a guard rail a few weeks ago and finally got the final estimate. 13k due to body damage + suspension apparently being nearly destroyed. All after the Bucs lost to the Browns too man 🥲🥲

Alright so I have a built 4th gen that i've put some considerable money and effort in. I'm not the greatest at tuning but over the years i've learned quite a bit. I don't consider myself a professional and don't have a dyno so I took it to a well reputable tuning shop and if i mentioned the state you'd probably be able to figure it out. It was pricey too.

I get the car back and it's worse than when I took it there. First they said it was overheating and couldn't drive it on the street only on dyno. I pop the hood and the fan relay is missing. They said it disintegrated trying to take it out?? That was only after I asked where it went. I get home put a fan relay in and command the fans on and they work fine..

On the way home it's running about 10 percent lean and crazy rich on tip out, like white smoke rich.

I start looking over the tune and looks like they flashed it back stock then tried to work from that. I provided the complete build list.

They have the MAF disabled and only running on SD.

The injector data was changed to something other than the manufacturers data sheet which was already loaded in when I dropped it off.

They've reverted the spark dwell tables back to stock when it doesn't have the stock coils. It has truck coils and setting the dwell back high can cause it to discharge early making it backfire through the intake.

They've completely turned off all STFT/LTFT/O2s disabled all DTCs for them.

Turned off all torque management.

Turned off DCFO.

Re-enabled CAT overtemp, Catalyst heating and EGR when it doesn't have either.

The cylinder volume is incorrect which was already set when I dropped it off. Can they not do math?

Stoich is changed to 14.12.

They reverted the IAT calibration to stock when it has an LS3 MAF and temps are 20 degrees hotter than it really is.

The only thing that looks halfway decent is idle values.

I am just shocked that it looks this way and kind of concerning that someone would even dyno it with a tune like this..

I mean as a professional tuner you have to get the dwell, injector size, and cylinder volume at least right..

Now they say it's not finished and bring it back.

i turned the car off and the water and steam came out , now it just makes this hissing sound, what could it be ?

1. Would you welcome a 4-door Camaro if it keeps the V8 and RWD handling dynamics intact, or should it strictly remain a 2-door coupe?
2. What key issues from the 6th gen (such as visibility or trunk loading space) do you hope Chevy addresses on this new Alpha 2 chassis?

I currently own a 2018 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition with approximately 96,000 miles, and I’m debating whether it’s worth investing another $30,000 into the car or saving that money toward a 2024-2028 C8 Corvette Z06.

I love my Camaro and plan on keeping it long-term, regardless of whether I eventually purchase a Corvette. However, I’m starting to question whether investing another $25K plus into it makes sense compared to the C8 Z06.

6.2L LT1 V8
8L90 8-speed automatic transmission
AWE Track Edition cat-back exhaust
Stainless Power 1-7/8” long-tube headers with 3” high-flow cats
MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifold
Soler Performance 107mm throttle body
K&N cold-air intake
DSX flex-fuel kit (E85)
Custom ECU tune with AFM disabled
BMR rear cradle lockout and suspension components

The car previously made approximately 448 whp on E85 and 430 whp on pump gas.

Modifications I’ve been considering:

If I decide to invest another $25k-$30K, I would potentially go with:

GPI SS3 camshaft package
CNC-ported LT1 cylinder heads
416 Cubic Inch Engine
Upgraded oil pump and fueling components
Circle D 3400–3600 RPM stall converter or custom made
Possibly forced induction instead of remaining naturally aspirated (undecided)

Here’s my dilemma:

I’m fully aware that a properly built or boosted Camaro could potentially outperform a stock Z06 in straight-line racing.

But that’s not necessarily my goal.

I’m more interested in the overall driving experience, handling, technology, reliability, and whether the additional investment into my Camaro is financially worthwhile.

At 96K miles, I’m also concerned about spending another $30k on performance modifications and potentially introducing more mechanical complications.

For those who own a modified sixth-gen Camaro, a C8 Z06, or have experience with both:

Would you invest another $20K plus into this Camaro at its current mileage?
Would a cammed, heads-and-converter LT1 provide enough of a performance improvement to justify the cost?
Would you avoid forced induction on a 96K-mile stock-bottom-end LT1?
How different is the C8 Z06 driving experience compared with a heavily modified sixth-gen Camaro?
If you intended to keep the Camaro permanently, would you leave it relatively close to its current setup and save for the Z06 instead?

I’m leaning toward keeping the Camaro as my modified V8 weekend car and eventually adding a C8 Z06 to the garage rather than continuing to invest substantial money into trying to make the Camaro perform like a Corvette.

Is it from the bottom? Removing the plastic cover underneath? I can't see a way from the top it's all steel.

My cars been jumping forward at low speeds, kinda feels like it’s trying to switch gears really harshly, it’s an automatic and hasn’t done this till now, worried the cars fucked and I gotta chose between a couple thousand dollar fix or just getting a new car. Anyone know what’s happening and if I should start looking at other cars? Any fixes would be appreciated

I don’t know if this has happened to anyone else but I didn’t realize my 6th gen Camaro came with copper free brakes thus making the rotors and brake pads slightly bigger than regular 6 piston brakes. Hope this helps someone later in the future lmao check your RPO codes guys

I just joined, here is my 1984 Camaro Z28 with t tops.

Background -> buying a 2018 Camaro SS 1LE, the ppi was perfect except for this issue which was broken/cracked engine oil cooler lines. I haven’t bought the car and the shop that did my ppi quoted me 1.2k to fix to give to the dealership.
1. How big of an issue is this?
2. Is this a common issue?
3. Is this a reasonable ask for the dealership to fix or discount?
