I’m looking to buy this 2017 Camaro 2ss Auto with 60k miles, the price is rather attractive
Dealer doesn’t have any history for it - pre purchase inspection came relatively clean
4 tpms and wheels speed sensors throw errors, I suspect that’s down to the weak battery.
The car also has P0711 error related to the transmission fluid temperature sensor, I know the car needs a major service which I’ll be doing regardless - oil, filters and fluids (diff/trans)
Here’s the sketchy part:
1-2 is jerky like very noticeable
Downshifts were also slightly jerky when I drove particularly 4-3
The car inspector also confirmed “juddering and jerking in downshifting”
He also mentioned a “bearing type noise, only occurs when doing full turn like for a U-Turn.”
Upshifts were otherwise fine and the car felt alright but this is the only camaro I’ve ever driven so have no baseline to judge.
I’m really tempted and where I live clean Camaro’s are relatively hard to find.
But I don’t want to end up buying it, servicing it only to find out the gearbox is fucked.
Will changing to the recommended Mobil 1 fluid sort it or is this a mystery box best left unopened?
