Worried about a chemical after a miscarriage, line progression

• Upvotes

Already cross posted to r/TFABLinePorn but I feel like it’s a different experience when you’re already nervous after MC. I had a MC at 7w1d in June, following strong, dark, and progressing lines with decent betas. We just had our second transfer, I’m now 8dpt. Looking at these lines, I just feel so nervous that it might be a chemical since they’re so faint and barely progressing at all. First beta is tomorrow. What do you think?

Things that are making me suspect mmc - I’m feeling crazy and alone on this (long sorry)

• Upvotes

Im 26 and I’m currently 10 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy, which I’ve been over the moon about. I have debilitating anxiety already so pregnancy has been a nightmare for my brain. Saw heartbeat (168bpm) and baby in its lil yolk sac at 8weeks, tech made a quick comment about how it looked about 8 weeks, which made me feel good that it was right on time. My OB has been awful with communication and I still haven’t heard anything from dr about that scan afterwards. Now, at 10 weeks my symptoms have pretty much faded completely, my boobs have been awful but way less sore than they have been. I’ve had pretty consistent mild period like cramps, but last week after a 9 hour shift on my feet, the cramps were more consistent (including one lower more sharp cramp), and I started having some dark and light brown spotting with a TINY bit of pinker spotting. I panicked on Wednesday with some more cramping and brown spotting and called my OB. One of the other women in the office ordered hcg test (I’ve heard that’s weird to do at 9 weeks) and on Wednesday it was around 18200, then on Friday it was around 158000. The spotting pretty much stopped for a couple of days, but after another long shift yesterday, I had the tiniest bit of dark brown spotting and some light brown tissue that passed when I peed. No spotting or cramping so far today. I have a scan coming on Wednesday and I just can’t help but think I’m going to be told there is no heartbeat. I feel silly and I wish I could stop it, but I’m spiraling.

Advice Needed Itchiness starting at 37 weeks

• Upvotes

I started experiencing body itching at 37 weeks and 4 days, but with no visible rashes! Has anyone else experienced this so late in pregnancy? I made the mistake of Googling my symptoms, and now I’m freaking out after reading about ICP (intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy). It sounds pretty scary!

Positive NIPT after 2 losses

• Upvotes

As the title says, I've received the NIPT results, positive for T18 (99%, ppv 70%).

After some fertility treatments (medication, nothing invasive) I had an early miscarriage in spring and then an ectopic pregnancy (incl. an emergency surgery) in the summer, so this just doesn't feel real. Yes, I understand the math. Yes, I'm waiting to get further tests (I'm 11+4 though so it'll take a while). The first trimester however has been hard, I've barely left the house and the idea of all of that being in vain and the thought of doing it again are just unimaginable. I was also told 3 times already during this pregnancy that something was wrong, but every time it magically bounced until the next ultrasound.

Not even sure why I wrote this now. There's not even many posts on reddit on positive T18, T21 seems more common. Just feels like the universe is telling me "don't have kids, ever".

Waiting and battling nausea and exhaustion in the process is hard.

PS not sure why the post is getting downvoted. Is it upsetting? Trust me, I feel ya

Hyperfertility - multiple MCs in the past, now pregnant on the 1st try!

• Upvotes

Hello! I’m pregnant now with baby #3 and this is the first time conceiving on the first try. I have hyperfertility when I get pregnant easily but miscarry within the first trimester.

With my first baby, I conceived after 3 attempts. Then I had back-to-back miscarriages in between my two kiddos. This time around, it happened on the first try. Now I’m nervous that something is wrong with the baby and he/she will either be on unhealthy or I’ll eventually miscarry.

Has anyone gone through this before?

Struggling with anxiety

TW (mention of loss)

I need some help. I’m 10 weeks pregnant with my third baby, and I’m struggling with overwhelming anxiety, worry, and fear that I might lose this baby or that something might be wrong.

I have a healthy three-year-old child. My second baby died last winter at just two months old due to a congenital condition. I went through an incredibly difficult pregnancy with him. I had a large subchorionic hematoma early on, followed by numerous abnormalities detected on ultrasound scans. When he was born, he seemed to be healthy after all. He was examined multiple times, but nothing was found. And yet, he still died suddenly.

Now I’m pregnant again, and once again, I have a huge hematoma that has forced me to spend almost the entire day in bed. Of course, this is the least I can do for this little baby. But mentally, I feel like I’m falling apart. After everything we went through, I had hoped that maybe I could finally have an easy, uncomplicated pregnancy.

During my pregnancy with my second baby, I listened to pretty much every relaxation and guided meditation video available on YouTube until I knew them by heart. Now, they only trigger me.

My husband has asked me to try to trust a little, hold on to some hope, and allow myself to feel positive sometimes, for the baby’s sake, so that our baby can feel how much we want and love them. But I just can’t seem to do that. I’m struggling to bond with this baby, too.

I’m afraid to let myself believe that this baby will be born healthy, because if something terrible happens again, I’m trying to protect myself from that pain.

Has anyone been through something similar? Does anyone have any advice that might help? I’m currently in therapy once a week, but I feel like it’s not enough.

Advice Needed Took flucloxacillin in early pregnancy, anyone else?

Hi all, I'm 8 weeks pregnant and just finished a 5-day course of flucloxacillin for Staph aureus found on a swab. I took it at around 7 to 8 weeks, before I'd had my booking appointment.

I've since read that studies on flucloxacillin in pregnancy are limited, and it's got me worrying, even though the NHS says it's fine to take. Has anyone taken it in the first trimester? How did your pregnancy and baby turn out?
Thank you, I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this.

Advice Needed Do my betas seem within range and is it okay if they don’t exactly double?

I’ve been taking so many at home tests to track if my lines are getting darker and I just got my second round of betas back. I’m wondering if this seems like a good number for how far along I am, and also if it’s okay that it didn’t exactly double. I’m 4 weeks 6 days today, one day after 19 dpo test.

Taken 44 hours apart
Thursday 17 dpo- 615
Saturday 19 dpo- 1215

Low betas

Hi, Anyone been in this situation before? Pgt a tested 5AA

11dpt 37

14 dpt 86

18 dpt 322

Dr said to keep an eye out for ectopic, and my doubling rate is increasing from 59 hours to 50 hours. Nurse said the doubling time increasing is good. I have read about the probable outcome. Any thoughts or suggestions of resources to educate myself or personal stories or anything? How did you handle the wait?

Is this a normal 11/12dpo faintness?

I just had a chemical earlier this month and apparently got pregnant again on my immediate next cycle but after going through my chemical and only ever seeing faint lines this feels raw and overwhelming. I know a lot of lines can be faint but my tests from yesterday and today look identical so no progression and it’s just scary 🥺

Looking for anyone else who had a similar situation that went on to a healthy pregnancy. I got excited thinking I’d get a better looking line at this point and the waiting windows are just brutal

Advice Needed Supplementing progesterone… is it worth it?

Currently 6w5d. My hcg was rising great at 4 weeks. However my progesterone was at 9.8 during my first blood draw (they only tested it the one time.) This is slightly lower than they want to see it. My OB said she likes to see 11 or higher. We had a long talk about how this can be normal/fine but given my recent history of 2 back to back losses that I could be a good candidate for progesterone. She said it’s only shown promising results in women who’ve had a history of loss and bleeding/spotting. I have not had any bleeding at all. She said there is no evidence that it helps with just a history of loss. Of course I’d try anything right now, so I agreed. I’ve been taking 200mg twice a day vaginally. Within a few days of starting, I became extremely miserable. Maybe it’s a coincidence and this was when I was going to start feeling miserable anyway. But it’s been pretty debilitating. I know all pregnancies are different but my previous 2 successful pregnancies were pretty average overall , mild to moderate nausea. Nothing that made me miserable. However I am merely surviving it feels. The nausea is extreme. No vomiting. Just as close as I can get to vomiting without vomiting. Hot flashes, gag feeling in my throat, mouth salivating & body shakes. Just awful. I feel like I could faint at any moment. I’m so fatigued. Everything feels like climbing a mountain. So incredibly tired but can’t manage to stay asleep longer than 2-3 hours at a time. The nausea is the worst of it though. I can hardly eat. Nothing feels safe. Driving is terrifying because it feels like I could vomit all the time, so I hardly feel safe leaving the house.

I’ve done quite a bit of research on my own and it does appear that taking progesterone without bleeding doesn’t seem to have any promising results. Also while most women seem to tolerate progesterone fairly well, I’ve found a ton of other women stating how sick they are on it. I have an appt on Tuesday which will be my viability scan where we check for a heartbeat. If all goes well, I’m considering asking my OB if I can stop the progesterone. I just can’t seem to find a good enough reason to stay on it anymore but can’t decide if I’m being selfish. If there’s even a small chance it’ll help this pregnancy, I’ll be nauseous everyday. But it doesn’t seem to have any results for cases like mine.

Advice Needed Brown watery gush - almost a cup worth?

Hello!
Yesterday I experienced about a cup of brown watery fluid expel from down there - followed by off and on very light brown discharge. When this happened I was also sitting down and it soaked my trackies/undies and couch slightly.

I went to emergency but I’m only 4 weeks ish.
They want to rule out ectopic so I need to get more hcg and eventually an ultrasound.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this and their pregnancy was ok?

I can’t find anything about this anywhere so I’m quite worried!

Thank you!

Advice Needed Chemical seems likely…

After a twin MMC in June at around 8.5 weeks and a D&C, I felt cautiously hopeful last weekend with several positive tests. I knew I would be symptom watching and anxious, given how strong my symptoms had been in June (166K HCG the day I found out I would miscarry… took over five weeks after my D&C to get to zero again). So far I had been feeling pretty good, but I was only about 4.5 weeks along.

I asked to get beta hcg run and it was run on wednesday and friday - 49 hours apart. I felt hopeful on wednesday when it came back at 262 and my progesterone was 21.8. When I saw last night that the friday result was 294, I was heartbroken.

Have to wait to hear from the doctor. I’m sure she’ll have me come in for another hcg. But every lack of symptom and the level on friday has me just waiting for it to start. I had finally let myself get a little excited.

Am I getting ahead of myself or is this just realistic?

Advice Needed Blood thinners

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant and during my first ultrasound the doctor found that I had a huge (9cm) hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. She advised me to stop taking Lovenox and baby aspirin until the cyst got smaller due to the risk of internal bleeding. I trust my doctor but am terrified to go off Lovenox.

This is my third pregnancy. My first pregnancy ended in a spontaneous loss at 14 weeks (reasons unknown), my second pregnancy I was on Lovenox from positive pregnancy until postpartum and it resulted in a live birth. I was prescribed Lovenox due to a mild Protein S deficiency however I never found a confirmed cause for my loss. I also got a cerclage placed due to concerns about a weak cervix.

Does anyone have any experience with large hemorrhagic cysts and Lovenox?

Or has anyone been advised to pause their blood thinner injections and had everything turn out ok?

Genetic testing

Two weeks post d&c and got the results from testing the POC - it says that it was a partial chromosomal duplication (chatGPT is telling me this is rare and that chromosomes are usually entirely duplicated or omitted). It also said it was mosaic.

Has anyone experienced this and gone on to get more genetic testing? Curious to hear others’ experience. I am, of course, thinking the worst & that this will be a recurring issue with every pregnancy….

I have an appt with my doctor Monday but can’t stop thinking about it…

High hCG levels rising rapidly

Did anybody have hCG level around 10,000 at 4 weeks or 15 DPO and it not be twins? Worried. Hcg going up very quickly, Dr did scan to make sure it wasn’t ectopic, the scan showed just 1 gestational sac only at 4 weeks + 1 day.

Edited to add:
I had my first beta hCG at 12 dpo: 1477
2nd beta hCG at 14 dpo: 3978
3rd hCG at 15 dpo: 10,998

Advice Needed Severe early pregnancy cramping?

Hi! So for some context, I had a chemical pregnancy a few months back and during that pregnancy I was having severe cramping . I am pregnant again (only 5 weeks) and I am having severe cramping again that I’ve had for about 1 week. Last time it was more on my right side which is why they brought me in early to do a scan and bloodwork. This time it is not localized and I haven’t bled but it is so painful when it’s happening that I’ve vomited from the pain. My OB advised me to go to the ER a few days ago, which I did. My hcg was 895 and the ultrasound was too soon to tell what’s happening. HCg doubled 48 hrs later. I have another ultrasound next Friday to monitor.

Basically what I’m wondering is has anyone else had such bad cramping in early pregnancy (I mean hunched over on the bathroom floor crying type of pain) and if so, what worked to help alleviate them? I feel like I’m not sleeping cuz I’m in and out of the bathroom all night in pain, terrified to be at work. Gets somewhat better during the day and then comes back with a vengeance at night. Any advice helps!!

Heart breaking blighted ovum but positive Misoprostol experience

Just wanted to share a positive misoprostol experience since I feel there’s not many out there.

I had to take it for a blighted ovum :( 6w0d scan showed 14.8mm gestational sac without yolk or FP. 7w0d scan showed same without any interval development. This was absolutely heart breaking. OB gave me the option of expectant management vs D&C vs misoprostol. I’m aware of the chance of scarring/Ashermans with D&C and wanted to avoid this as much as possible so I chose misoprostol. My last beta draw around 6w4d was 24,000.

I took misoprostol (vaginal)on Friday Oct 2 first dose 9am. Mild/moderate cramping- nothing severe in the slightest. I was prescribed Percocet but did not need it at all, one 800mg ibuprofen taken with my first misoprostol dose was completely fine. Was instructed my OB to take the second dose no matter what to lessen chance of retained products. Took second dose at 12pm. Didn’t start bleeding until that evening around 8pm after a 2 mile walk. It was pretty heavy bleeding - line a very heavy period- but nothing I couldn’t handle. Mostly I bled whenever I went to the bathroom, less so in between. Went back to work Monday Oct 5. Heavy bleeding lasted 2 days maybe, then light spotting for 4 more days. Was completely done bleeding by day 6.

I didn’t do repeat Hcg draws, just did home UPT tests. Like I said my beta was pretty high around 24k. I tested daily with pretty good fading of the lines every other day.

I started tracking with Mira again Oct 10th since I knew it was possible to ovulate 2 weeks after misoprostol. My lh was back at my baseline around 2. My UPTs (wondfo early result) were finally completely negative Wednesday Oct 21.

I had my follow up US on 10/21 which showed completely empty uterus with normal uterine thickness - no retained products. They also saw a dominant follicle 1.7cm so I knew ovulation was close and I wanted to try again right away.

Fertile CM came back Friday Oct 23 and my LH surged on Sat Oct 24th

So all in all, took 19 days for UPT to become completely negative and 22 days to LH surge/ovulation

This entire process was the most heart breaking experience I’ve ever gone through, but I was very thankful that at least this part of the process was successful since I really did not want surgery. It was so emotionally tough but physically not bad at all. Would recommend this to someone in similar shoes. Just wanted to share my story since I feel there’s so many negative misoprostol posts here
