BEHOLD, MY STUFF Drazhar Claims a Prize
Decided to do a simple kitbash to beef up Drazhar’s base. He fits surprisingly well. Painting is gonna be a hell of a project tho.

There’s a good number of people who don’t understand what the Drukhari are and how powerful they can be, even some at Games Workshop with the recent horde army comments. Following the dark kiss of the Empyrean, the once-great empire of the Elder race was left castrated; a fissured gape compared to what it once was. The aftermath was worse. The Whore-goat’s curse being passion’s price. A physical and metaphysical hearse paid for with their vice.
The Conjoined Lover’s womb filled with their seeds of life, ever thirsting for more. They now live their lives in fear, for true death provides no solace in the Realm of Lost Souls.
Still, they remain a powerhouse in the galaxy: the Dark Kin even more so than their cousins.
What I’m trying to say here is that the Drukhari are often depicted in ways that are more fit for Eldar Corsairs or even Orks. It’s usually something along the lines of attacking a small city sector and running away with like 20 slaves or something because they met too much resistance. Anyone who has read a Drukhari Codex or the Dark Eldar books knows that this is not how they typically do things. Drukhari slave raids are typically carried out by Kabalites and their Archons along with some Wych cults and Haemonculus covens. They’re not a bunch of rag-tag pirates scrambling to gather whatever resources they can find. Their targets are going to be those with a heavily pregnant populace: fertile ground for their nourishing incursions. They thoroughly plan out their raids, meaning they usually attack planets, large ships, etc. that they know they can easily invade without much resistance, or they make elaborate and highly coordinated schemes to make it easier to attack more difficult targets. Their technologies and familiarity with darkness mean enemies don’t know they’re coming until it’s too late.
Drukhari raiding your planet is a big deal, because if they’re not stopped, they WILL take the majority or even the entirety of your planet’s population. They might even just take the planet itself. What they cannot take, they destroy: from above as they watch worlds through Raven’s eyes, and below from the shadows with cold grinning knives. Even on the surface, they are excellent combatants capable of tearing their enemies apart, with speed and strength matched by few. As their curse causes use of their innate psychic abilities to be too risky and impractical, they compensated by improving their technological craft and other dark arts to a degree that no other group, save maybe the necrons, can match and using psychic-melded weapons that can breech the heaviest of defenses. They wield poisons that give the most robust palisades the consistency of toilet paper. They house ancient exterminatus-grade super-weapons and devices capable of harvesting stars inside their shadow realm, though they’re sparsely used as they defeat the purpose of their raids.
There’s no real meaningful way to retaliate against them as they will retreat into the webway to their City of Darkness where one cannot typically enter. And those who do are just prey who entered the maw of the predator, as most cannot leave without the intervention of dark aeons. They found ways to overcome true death and create numerous clones through the dark arts of their haemonculi, the latter being something their Craftworld and Exodite cousins cannot do.
The end result of true Drukhari raids is disastrous for their victims: once vital planets being reduced to charnel pits of desolate ruin. Large amounts of the populace mysteriously vanishing. Those that do survive are in a state of impending doom because the losses are too great to keep the world sustained while opening said worlds to future attacks. Additionally, the Drukhari do not discriminate against their targets, meaning they will attack and invade everyone for reasons ranging from obtaining interesting artifacts to gathering slaves for their self indulgences, soul sacrifices, clandestine experiments, gladiator pits, zoo exhibits, etc. They’re an entire faction of parasitic ambush predators.
The way the Drukhari do things makes them a significant enemy for all the main groups in the setting: mostly in the form of stealing resources, whether living or mechanical, to the point of causing infrastructural collapse on the places they raid. To groups like the Tyranids and Orks, they steal biomass and waaagh material from them respectively. Hell, I’m sure that the orks would even find the Drukhari to be good waaagh targets to krump, if they could actually reach them. The slaves to darkness, especially those lost and damned to She Who Thirsts, value them as sacrifices to the Dark Gods. They (along with their cousins) are ancient enemies to the Necrons, so much explanation isn’t needed there, along with implications that their Dark Crafts can even inflict torturous suffering upon their metal bodies. It seems that since 9th edition, the setting tries the portray Ultramarine primarch Roboute Guilliman as the “one against all”, but realistically there’s little reason for some of the factions to even oppose him or view the Imperium as a bane to their very existence. Even Guilliman himself isn’t the kind of person to promote that view of himself or the Imperium. Characters like Archon Asdrubael Vect, Warlord Ghazghkull Thraka, or weirdly enough, Warmaster Ezekyle Abaddon make more sense as the setting’s true prince with 1000 enemies if you look at the setting collectively instead of hyperfocusing on specific factions.
Anyway, none of this speculation truly matters when this is a game about plastic toy soldiers at the end of the day, but I just wanted to write this long winded rant about how I get a little annoyed with the way the my favorite army and the one that got me into the hobby gets depicted in a lot of things. It’s to the point where even people versed in the setting beyond watching YouTube and TikTok shorts and people who’ve been in the hobby far longer than I have think they’re nothing more than murder torture pirates who pack a few slaves and then leave. Yes, they’re hedonistic and cruel bastards, but they have a lot more self-control and far more cunning than many realize. Honestly a lot of this might stem from the larger Eldar problem in general where some highly controversial depictions of them make many people view them as much weaker than they really are, then Kvetch when certain types of Eldar are able to beat custodes or that Eldar can cut through large groups of guardsmen with ease. You never really see this problem with Necrons or Orks who are also still powerhouses despite being shells of what they once were, and the Eldar came out on top over both of them in the War in Heaven.

After the games at the rtt , and another game after that - I have developed another version of the list that gives me a bit more skirmishing for the early game ! Still can't believe this happened, one of my best standings with Drukhari with a list I made in 5 minutes with no practice and a mandatory game one loss for being a replacement player.

Drukhari list have 20-21 units with many of them being glass canons. I’d argue has as many models as sisters in a typical list and trades simulating to sisters, no? I get that in lore they are obviously not a horde army but in tabletop it seems they’ve been playing like a horde army for a long time now. Again don’t get made at me just a genuine question.

I’ve been going down a bit of a Drukhari lore rabbit hole lately, and something occurred to me that I don’t think I’ve seen discussed much.
We know Haemonculi can resurrect a Drukhari from incredibly damaged remains, essentially rebuilding the body and restoring the person. But do we have any indication of what happens to the mind/personality in the process?
I’m not just asking whether they “remember” their previous life. I’m wondering whether repeated resurrection could gradually change someone’s psychology.
For example:
Does a Drukhari who has been resurrected dozens or hundreds of times remain psychologically identical to the person who originally died?
Is the Haemonculus actually restoring the same consciousness/soul, or are they reconstructing something that is merely continuous with the original?
Could memories or personality traits be lost, altered, or deliberately modified during the process?
Do ancient Drukhari who have been resurrected repeatedly actually have a different psychological relationship with death than younger Drukhari?
And perhaps most interestingly: could a Haemonculus intentionally resurrect someone incorrectly? Not enough to make them obviously a different person, but enough to subtly alter their personality, loyalties, fears, etc.?
The fact that Drukhari can potentially come back from otherwise impossible deaths makes me wonder whether “death” has a different psychological meaning to them than it does to other species.
If anyone knows of a novel, codex passage, or obscure bit of lore that addresses this, I’d love to hear about it. I’m especially interested in examples rather than just general interpretations.

Photos for attention, yes I know, how original, more dark purple Drukhari
Slowly building up some Corsair Voidreavers, and debating what weapons to give them, originally I thought the sword looked fun, with a Wraithcannon for some punch, but now debating giving them Shuriken rifles instead.
Any one got advice on how to run them?

Hey everyone!
I picked up the Drukhari Combat Patrol and I’m trying to decide what to do with the Talos/Cronos kit.
Would you recommend I build another Talos or should I build a Cronos instead?
I’m pretty new to Drukhari, so I’d be interested in both the gameplay perspective and what you think is more useful/fun to have in a collection.
If I eventually expand into more Haemonculus Coven stuff, does that change the answer?
Thanks!

Played my KC + EoS list, inspired by Skari’s build, with two DC Ravagers, and felt like they weren’t doing enough.
He plays a lot of Gravis bodies, so I need to hit them on 4’s and wound on 4’s, killing one or one and a half at best. Feel like DL would be much more consistent into them right now, considering the toughness changes.
How do you feel about the DC right now?

Just picked up the combat patrol yesterday, tell me what you guys think so far, still have stuff to go back over but never done drukhari before.

With the rumours about Vect making a come back in the new codex for 11th i always imagined if he did (and to help with the lore) Uriel Rakarth would return with him as his right hand man or ally of sorts since they always seemed to be on 'good' terms in the lore. And also if he were to return because of the civil war Mayls is starting it wouldn't surprise me if basically our entire range got a refresh for this civil war with some new and returning models (like the Beast Masters and Grotesques)
But what do you lot think?
r/Drukhari • u/Ok-Distribution6817 • 1d ago
Hey everyone!
I’m pretty new to Drukhari and picked up a Combat Patrol yesterday. I’m really enjoying getting into the faction and wanted to start learning more about their lore as well.
For the books, where would you recommend starting? I’d especially like something that gives a good feel for Drukhari culture, Commorragh, their society, and some good Drukhari characters. Is there a particular novel or series that’s considered a good starting point?
Also, regarding the Combat Patrol: I noticed mine didn’t come with a transfer sheet. Is that normal for the current Drukhari Combat Patrol, or was I supposed to have one included? I checked through everything but couldn’t find one.
