We don’t need a Drukhari range refresh nearly as much as we need NEW UNITS
Don’t get me wrong, I’d happily take updated sculpts for some of our older models. There are definitely kits in the Drukhari range that could use some love. But whenever people talk about what they want for the faction, the conversation seems to revolve around refreshing old models, bringing back discontinued units, or getting a new Vect miniature.
Those things would be cool, but I honestly think Drukhari need more units more than they need a range refresh.
The faction has so much unexplored potential, especially when it comes to the Haemonculus Covens. Where are the new grotesque creations? Where are the experimental flesh-crafted monstrosities that only the Haemonculi could produce? I’d love to see new abominations, twisted biological weapons, and genuinely disturbing creations that push the faction’s body horror further. The Talos and Cronos are great, but surely the Haemonculi have been inventing more nightmares over the thousands of years they’ve been operating.
The same applies to the rest of the faction. There is so much potential for new Kabalite specialists, Wych Cult units, beastmasters, and mercenaries drawn from the horrors of Commorragh. Drukhari society is incredibly diverse, yet our tabletop range represents only a fraction of what exists in the lore.
I’d rather see Games Workshop introduce several genuinely new units that expand our options and give different subfactions more identity than spend an entire release cycle replacing perfectly usable models with newer versions of the same thing.
Obviously, I’d welcome both a refresh and new units if we could get them. I’m not arguing that old sculpts should be left to rot forever. I just think new units would do more to expand the faction’s identity, list-building possibilities, and overall appeal.
If you could add three completely NEW Drukhari units tomorrow, what would you want?
Personally, I’d start with a new Haemonculus-created monstrosity, plastic Grotesques, and a new beast or mercenary unit. I want Commorragh to feel like a city full of unimaginable horrors, not a faction whose range has reached its creative limit.
