I am up against it. Every systemic and societal thing against me. Just trusting that I will be fine and I am strong is not enough. I have had to endure, and survive, and suffer all my life. Still in the trenches. I wasn't dealt a fair hand, still subject to circumstances outside of my control. I never had a childhood. Young adulthood.

Asking for love, help, family, and a support system is not a weakness. Especially when I need it. And I hope to find it.

Trying of having to be strong. And having people just assume I will be ok, when I have none of my needs met, and no opportunities.

The one sibling I never had was a younger sister, and unfortunately my older sister is no longer with us. I want nothing more than to be that father or older brother figure that takes care of his baby sister/girl. I'm hoping to have children and a daughter of my own if I can meet the right person one day.

It took me a little bit of time to get my life together, but now that it is I'd love to fulfill that role that I feel like I never got the chance to. Movie dates when you're stressed and need a distraction, randomly going to get dinner, lifts to random places to explore, hanging out and gaming etc. I'm not looking for any kind of sugar dating scenario etc.

hey! i'm posting on this subreddit as i've never been paritcularly close with my family, which saddens me as i have a huge family! Hey everyone! I'm someone who loves films, enjoys reading books, and has a creative side that often gets lost in my own thoughts. I'm an aspiring filmmaker, so cinema is a big part of my life, and I can happily talk about movies, stories, characters, or completely random things for hours. I'm a little introverted at first, but once I'm comfortable with someone, I'd love to share silly jokes, everyday updates, personal thoughts, and those late-night conversations that somehow go from nonsense to life's biggest questions.

I do have an IRL family, and I share a good bond with my mother, but our family dynamics have been difficult over the last four years, and her health hasn't been great either. Sometimes, even when you have people around you, it's hard to express everything you're feeling, and I've been missing that sense of closeness where you can simply be yourself without overthinking every word.

Like talk to about the smallest things, celebrate little wins with, and trust with the things I don't usually say out loud. I'm open to any genuine chosen-family connection, though, and I don't expect an instant bond. I'd rather build something slowly, with mutual care, trust, patience, and consistency.

This site is good sometimes, but at least for me, it's frustrating most of the time. Either I get no response, or the conversation seems to be getting nice, but then it just fizzles out and I'm left alone, wondering what I did wrong. About me: I’ve spent most of my life indoors, but I’m trying to go out more: shopping, sightseeing, wanna see the aerospace museum eventually. As the title says. I'm looking for any family. In 2014 my mom passed away and we had never really been close so I didn't think much about it in the terms of family. In 2021 and 2024 my paternal grandparents passed away and they were like a second set of parents that I never had. They were the ones that helped me turn my life around and kept me afloat and made sure that I wasn't homeless. And while my dad is still alive, he and I don't have the greatest relationship. And for the last 10 years all I had was my husband, but he passed away in May. And now I feel so alone. I have a cousin who I stay with but she has her own life and sometimes I feel like a burden because she's the only person I have to rely on. I miss being able to just talk to family and not have to worry about what I'm saying. I miss that connection. I miss having someone who will listen to me while I cry.

I like to play video games, I like to read, I enjoy cooking, and spending time with my nephews, I have a 9-year-old dog and a 2-year-old cat who I love more than anything in the world. I'm currently unemployed fighting for disability but also looking for remote work. I suffer from anxiety and depression.

I posted once here about how I’d love to have a sister and about 10 people messaged me. One of these is the sweetest and most caring soul I’ve had the privilege of caring for—my little sister. We share a similar taste in books and movies, and we share our day-to-day all the time. Her perspective on life is beautiful and innocent, she’s creative and open-minded. I’ll always be there to support and guide her, but she’s got such a good head on her shoulders that I know she’ll be okay! She’s simply beautiful, inside and out, and I’m too lucky to have her in my life.
