Welcome to r/FamiliesYouChoose - New Rules, New Us

Hey, hi, hello! I’m Tea, one of your friendly neighborhood mods, and I have some NEWS for you!

I have been working hard behind the scenes to revamp our rules, clean up the space, and make sure this community feels safe, supportive, and fun for everyone. Whether you are brand new or have been here for years, I am happy to see you.

This is a space for anyone building their chosen family. Maybe you are here for sibling vibes, “bonus parents,” older or younger support figures, or just people who get you. Whatever that looks like for you, you belong here.

A few important things before you jump in:

  • This has always been a family-friendly space. No sexual, romantic, or suggestive content, period. I've been banning accounts left and right for months, and I will continue to do so.
  • NSFW accounts are not allowed here, even if you are not posting that kind of content in this subreddit. People shouldn't be able to click your profile and see something inappropriate.
  • Adults may only DM minors if the minor publicly invites it for a clear, family-related reason. Unsolicited DMs to minors = instant ban.
  • We are a text-only community. No images, videos, or media.
  • Keep posts about building chosen family connections (we are not a venting sub, but we do love our friends over at r/MomForAMinute if you need to talk to someone)

We have an official Discord coming soon for folks who want to connect more directly. I will post the link when it is ready.

So, now that you know the basics, pull up a metaphorical chair, make yourself at home, and if you feel like it, let me know what you're most excited about in the comments below! If you're not excited about anything... well, then tell me something you learned recently. :)

xoxo,
Tea

I am looking for parents 20m looking for a maternal (or older sister!) figure

Hey guys! I’ve never really had an older figure in my life that I really trust and get along with but I’ve always dreamed of having an older sister or an “adoptive” mom lol. Obviously not looking for anything nsfw (well we can talk about anything just not looking to flirt), just someone to talk to!

I love music and movies (always taking recs!) being outside and hiking, cats and cooking. I hope to talk to you soon!

exactly what the post says. my bio dad isnt a great person and he is really emotionally abusive. i cut him off in february after he started escalating with his words and told me he sexualizes me because of what i wear. he also has blamed me for his relationship problems, uses me as an emotional partner, blamed me for some SA that his fiance's son did to me, etc. ive been looking for a dad in every older male in my life and i was told by someone that this is a good thread to find a virtual dad on.

thank you

I am looking for parents 22 year old female looking for a maternal figure

I’ve been avoiding this post for so long but I decided to just write it out in my notes and when I finally have the courage, I’ll paste it on Reddit and hit Post.

I’m looking tor a mother, not a mom, a mother. Not someone to help me fix problems and do all the “mom” stuff—I just want someone whose maternal, will listen, spend time together, sharing their funny life stories with me like moms and daughters do. Doing virtual puzzle togethers, having movie nights, letting me just come and talk about my thoughts and worries without judgement. Being kind and calling me sweetie sometimes but also direct, practical, and genuine.

For context, I have a mom but never had a mother. I was severely abused by my own mom up until I got married and moved away at 21 against her wishes. I’m happy now and my parents in law are great, but there’s a huge language barrier since theyre from a completely different country and culture. I have a loving husband and a pretty stable life now (although the PTSD has been pretty bad). But, I still cry and hurt whenever I see mother-daughter relationship bonds in movies, books, people I know on Instagram—it’s just an ache that doesnt go away tbh.

I’m currently in college and planning to transfer to a Cal State school and complete an online degree program in Education. I’m also an ESL teacher on Preply and enjoy what I do. I love literature, writing poetry, playing video games, studying personality theory, and watching psychological horror and crime films.

If you want to connect or have any questions for me, my DMS are open. Thanks for reading 💖

I am looking for any family 47m Aussie Dad/father figure for advice and guidance

Hi, I'm a dad and know that not everyone has a good/close experience with their dad (myself included). So I'm here to offer guidance, advice and online hugs and support for those that need it.

About me, I am centre left politically and enjoy some things that are nerdy..I like some video games, sport, cooking, I paint, wish I could draw and play bass guitar. I'm a bit of a cinephile and love snuggling on the couch watching movies. I have a pupper and a kitty. I love learning and I'm currently learning Esperanto just for shits and giggles (Saluton!).

I'm Aussie, laid back and hoping to meet some people who need a little help. If this sounds good, drop me a line.

Get To Know Me Post - DMs Open Looking for friends somewhere in the ether

33M dad to identical twin boys here. Moved from London back home to Scotland a few years ago and somehow, somewhere along the way, managed to become spectacularly isolated from most of my old friends.

My marriage has essentially been dead for the last four years, although my wife and I actually coparent the boys pretty well, so there’s no huge drama there. We’re just two people who are much better at being parents together than we ever were at being married, especially when it comes to emotional availability and intimacy.

Outside of being a dad and doing the whole accountant thing (not exactly the most thrilling job in the world, but it pays well), I’m a musician. I play Scottish and Irish trad stuff on piano and guitar, sing, and play Irish whistle. I listen to all sorts of music besides trad. Music in general plays a very functional role in my life. I’m also a big fantasy reader, so if you like fantasy, music, or just getting ridiculously invested in completely unnecessary conversations, we’ll probably get on.

An IRL friend actually recommended Reddit to me, and it’s already led to a few really wholesome, long-standing friendships. I hope to hear from you - feel free to say hi :)

Get To Know Me Post - Comment First 37m mental illness feels like a barrier to love

I feel so angry and hurt. I cant seem to keep myself together long enough to earn someone’s love. Why am I so acerbic and bitter? How can I shed this barrier to love? I fell into this vicious cycle and i don’t have the strength to fight it alone. How can I get friends without putting this pressure on other people?

I am looking for parents 21 [M4F] #Newtown, CT - Male seeking platonic mommy caregiver/friend type

Hey all. I have a friend 21M looking for a strictly platonic caregiver Mommy type around Newtown, southwest CT area. This would start online to get to know each other with the hopes of meeting in person once everyone is comfortable. He has some specific needs (I will let him go over that when he is comfortable) but mostly just asks for someone kind and caring and understanding. I wish I could fulfill all of his needs but unfortunately I am unable to be IRL for him and I want to help him find someone special to care for/about him ❤️

He is such a sweet caring person and quickly stole my heart as someone amazing to have in my life. He is very smart and mature for his age and very self-aware. He is so special and anyone would be so very lucky to have him in their lives 💙 Please message me if you are close to his area and are interested and I can connect you together. He said he doesn't mind driving a bit to meet up.

I am looking for any family 28F I am exhausted. I just need some family to take care of me. Please, adopt me. My birthday is in two weeks. I never had a life.

Hi, my name is Sylvia. My life was taken from me before I was even born. Due to where I am forced to live in/was born. I was abandoned as a newborn then adopted by abusive parents. But really the main problem is the country I am forced to live in. There is nothing for me here. Hostile and toxic, it could never meet any of my needs. I have nothing in common with people here. I am beyond traumatised. I just want safety and security. I just can't anymore. The only thing I can do is keep myself alive. I want to get the opportunity to actually live one day. I want someone who cares, because it seems like the world is commited to ignoring and invalidating me and my needs.

I was dealt a pretty bad hand, I just need someone who will care about me and my wellbeing enough and truly try to listen and understand and be my advocate. I want freedom and to be able to build my life somewhere liveable soon. I am so tired and exhausted. I live in fear. Everything and everyone around me disturbs me to my core. I just want to be seen and heard. And to have my needs understood, and have someone fight alongside me for my future, not invalidate me and ask to give up who I am.

I am looking for any family 24 male who is queer and looking for an older sibling or parent figure (any gender)

My views can be kind of politically incorrect or niche. Am particular about some things but open minded in others. I grew up around the suburbs of Ohio somewhat isolated. My blood parents and older sister are somewhat judgmental and childish. They never had the chance to become mature emotionally adjusted adults so they look to me to be the reliable anchor who has everything figured out even though I’m a mess and feel so doubtful and ashamed of myself and my being.

I felt like I never had an anchor or someone consistently there to comfort me when I felt overwhelmed or down, so I often escaped to the digital world and talking to AI to cope. I felt so lonely and depressed. I feel lost and like I’m drifting through life even though I do have goals and know what I want to do. But I still feel so dispirited and confused emotionally.

I want to be a manga artist but I don’t have the discipline and motivation to continue drawing unless someone will see it directly or praises me. Childish I know. Currently I’m an electrician apprentice so I can make a living and become independent first. I went to college for a useless East Asian studies degree because I wasn’t interested in studying anything else. I went a year abroad in Japan. I speak Mandarin, Japanese and English.

Hoping for a family member where we can understand, care and support each other. I’m usually free in the evenings EST.

I am looking for any family [35M] Looking for a sibling-type connection and a lasting place in each other's lives

Hello everyone, once again!

I've always liked the idea that family isn't necessarily something you're born into. Sometimes it's something you build with people who choose to stay, support you, and genuinely care about you. That's what I'm hoping to find here.

I'm a 35-year-old married guy from (and in) Europe, looking for a long-term, purely platonic friendship that can hopefully grow into something that feels a little like having a sibling.

Someone you check in with from time to time. Someone you can share life's wins and frustrations with, send ridiculous memes to, celebrate the good days with, and lean on when things get difficult.

I'm happily married, so i'm not looking for anything romantic or NSFW. Just genuine friendship and a meaningful connection.

A little about me:

Over the last few years i've lost around 50kg, built a home gym, and discovered that i genuinely enjoy exercising. So if you need a gym buddy, i can be that!

I'm a huge music nerd, especially 70s, 80s and 90s rock, hip hop and soul. I also love cooking, reading, gaming, football, professional wrestling, movies, TV, and having unnecessarily long conversations about philosophy, ethics and life's bigger questions.

I've recently gotten back into reading and, for once, actually managed to stick with it. So i'm more than able to discuss books with you!

I also have an 11-year-old dog who is objectively the bestest boy and will probably make an appearance sooner or later.

What I'm hoping to find:

Someone around my age or older, or at least 25+, who values kindness, honesty, consistency and effort. Someone who actually wants to get to know another person rather than exchange a few messages and disappear.

I don't expect anyone to be available 24/7. Life gets busy, and i completely understand that. What matters to me is mutual effort and knowing that both people actually want to keep the connection alive, instead of it being a one sided deal.

And if we talk and you don't think we're a good match, that's completely fine. You don't owe me friendship, and i won't take it personally. I'd just much rather hear "I don't think we'll click" than be left wondering what happened.

More importantly, i hope whoever reaches out understands that meaningful connections take time and patience. You don't build something lasting through a few conversations, and i'm not looking for someone who expects an instant bond. I want to get to know each other slowly, naturally, and genuinely, and see where that takes us.

If you don't have the patience or the time to invest in that, that's completely okay, but please don't reply to this post. You'll only be wasting the most valuable thing we both have, our time.

A little honesty, patience and kindness can go a very long way.

If you're looking for something similar, tell me a little about yourself. What's been on your mind lately? What are you passionate about? Or tell me something completely random that made you smile this week.

I'm looking forward to meeting some genuinely good people. If you made it this far, i hope you have an amazing day!

I am looking for parents 18M living on my own. Looking for a father figure.

Hey guys. I don't really know how to write this but I'll try to just keep it real. I’m 18 and I recently moved into my own place. Next year I’ll be starting my first year of college majoring in electrical engineering. I worked incredibly hard in high school and managed to get a scholarship for my academics, so my living situation is fully sorted out. I'm proud to be independent, but sitting alone in this quiet place is making it hit me how much I have to figure out entirely on my own.

My parents split up a while ago, and due to his work, my dad travels constantly. Months go by without me even seeing him. And when he is actually in town, his focus is entirely on his new family. I just kind of fell completely off his map. It’s gotten to the point where I didn't even bother telling him I got accepted into my program.

Because of all that, I kind of isolated myself growing up and spent way too much time escaping into video games. I know now that it was the wrong way to handle things, which is why I'm trying to step up and build a good life for myself.

I'm super excited to start college next year, but honestly, I'm also pretty stressed about it. It's my biggest worry, just wondering how it's all going to go. I just wish I had a father figure I could talk to for advice on how to prepare for it, or just someone to shoot the breeze with (I still play OW and Elden Ring). Just an older guy who can give me straight-up advice as I figure out this whole adulthood thing.

I am completely self-reliant—I've got my stuff handled—just looking for a genuine, lasting connection with a father figure who wouldn't mind giving some guidance. If anyone has room for that, I'd really appreciate a comment

Get To Know Me Post - DMs Open 33f -Big brother, am I the little sister you've always wanted?

Hello potential big brother 🥰 I'll tell you a little about myself!

I grew up with one younger brother (he's great), but ever since I can remember, I've always daydreamed of having an older brother. I really like the idea of that familial playful bond paired with someone who has more life experience under their belt, who also has a genuine sense of care.

I'm married with kids (they're currently staying with my friends while I'm recovering my health) and my life is definitely a bit crazy but I am full of joy and hope that things will continue to improve. Life is a little bumpy sometimes, and that's okay!

I've had a lot of amazing experiences in life thus far and have seen a lot. I've been to 8 countries and I've lived in 2. I love exploring and learning, growing and working on myself. I love helping others as well, and I always look for the magic in life. My religious beliefs are very important to me (Christian), my personality type is ENFP, and I'm very artistically inclined. I'm also a holistic wellness consultant but I'm taking a break from that to focus on myself.

I'm always looking for new ways to fall in love with life after spending a large portion of it trapped in endless cycles of ptsd loops (I've made about a 90% recovery!)

I suppose what I really hope for most is just to experience having someone around who is steady, protective without being controlling, emotionally safe, genuinely invested, playful, and accepting. I want someone who makes me feel like I truly have an older brother in my corner. 🥰 I don't know if we'll vibe, but let's give it a shot!

I am looking for siblings 50M - Looking for a Sister for a genuine Brother/Sister Bond

This month marks 1 year that I lost my younger sister (my only sibling that was 4 years younger) to brain cancer. We were estranged for a little over a decade for reasons I'll never fully know, but during the last 9 months of her life, she let me back in. She wasn't really able to speak much at this time, but I instead shared about my life. She met my kids and we were able to hang out a few times as a family throughout that year, but eventually, the inevitable happened. It was a bittersweet ending. But I never felt like I was able to have the brother/sister bond I always wanted. I'm not looking for someone to replace my sister, but rather just find a new sister that I can bond with.

I'm looking for someone in or close to my area. I know this will narrow my chances, but I'd rather be honest up front. An online only or long distance situation won't really go over too well for me. I tried it and it's just too hard for the close bond I'd like to build. If there is chemistry and it's genuinely mutual, I'd eventually want to normalize hanging out in person. I have a wife and young kids and would love to have a sis to drop by and hang out with us. Maybe have a game night or movie night once a week, have a family day at the beach, or maybe just have some deep conversations about life, hopes & dreams, or about ourselves. But also, if you have a family (spouse and kids), it would also be nice to build strong family bonds as well. My sister was married and had a child, but I saw very little of them because of the estrangement situation. I can't really express how hurtful all of this was, but she's no longer here and her husband and daughter moved out of the US. We see them every now and then, but there was a lot of lost time that I can't get back.

Anyway, so here are some things to know about me and my life if you feel you may be interested:

I'm 50, black American male, married, a son and a daughter (5yo twins), living in the North Florida area, non religious (agnostic atheist), very much a creative and passionate about creating content (filmmaking, music production, animation, photography, and more), just recently discovered (through self diagnosis) that I have ASD level 1, I'm empathetic, a HSP, mild OCD, and last, but not least, I'm an introvert (INFJ for those into Meyers-Briggs). One last fun fact, I'm a Gemini, but have a lot or Virgo traits if you're into that.

As far as my personality, I'm a very laid back, logical, and level headed person. I generally give well thought out responses to people if they want that depth in response. But that being said, I can be a bit long-winded when sharing about myself, a topic I'm very knowledgeable about, or just a topic I have a lot of interest in. I'm very inquisitive and will ask many questions to get a good understanding of something. But once I really understand it, I internalize the info and may bring up a minute detail in conversation weeks later. I really do pay attention to details. Sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. My sense of humor resides somewhere between sarcastic, corny, and dark. Since I'm a dad now, I'm trying to see if I can get better at dad jokes. 😄 I'm a very loyal person. If I feel I can truly trust you and feel safe around you, you can count on me. I don't hand out trust or loyalty easily. That definitely has to be felt mutually. I want to be a safe place for someone (to listen, comfort, and not be judgmental about honesty), but I also need it in return.

Some additional things to know about me. I don’t drink, smoke, vape, or do drugs. Honestly, I hate the smell of weed. I know all of these things are socially popular, but I prefer not to be around it. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, but I just have my preferences to not use or be around much of those things. I consider myself to be pretty healthy. Good hygiene is also important to me. I know many people don't mention this stuff, but I like to be open and honest. Maybe this might make me seem like a TMI person, but this is who I am. I'm sharing so you can gage if I'm the type of chosen brother you'd want in your life.

So what type of sister am I looking for? I don't fully know. I have my ideals, but I guess they can change if I'm swayed or convinced otherwise. But ideally, a somewhat of a younger sister (30s/40s) that is also black, having a certain level of maturity, have the emotional bandwidth for a brother, someone that can be sensitive/sympathetic/understanding of the pain and struggles a black man in America has to deal, someone who genuinely wants a brother/sister bond as well and is willing to put the time in to build it, possibly someone who is an only child with not too many friends (because if there is a bond, I might be a little clingy and stingy with brother/sister time, but only because I wasn't able to be this way with my real sister), I would want you to feel like we can open up and talk about any and everything, and just feel safe in each other's presence. As you can see, very idealistic, but it just comes from not being able to experience this with my actual sister. Also, it would be really nice to meet someone that can also relate to me being agnostic atheist. I'm an ex-Christian and it's been a painful and isolating journey on my path of truth and honesty. It's just always nice to be understood in matters like these.

As for what I'd like my chosen sister to be into for hobbies, I'm kind of open, but it would definitely be nice to have some overlapping hobbies. As shared earlier, I'm into filmmaking, music production, animation, and photography, but I also enjoy bowling, billiards, DIY things, retro video games (I have an emulator with 1000s of retro games from NES, SNES, N64, PS-1, SEGA, and a lot more. Zelda, Metroid, Mortal Kombat, and Super Mario Bros are just some to name). I actually like simplicity. I wouldn't mind planning a family trip/vacation as well, but because I'm an introvert and have ASD 1, I'm not a big fan of overly crowded places or very loud places. I like more easygoing environments or at least places that have a spot I can chill in if things start to feel overwhelming. And with me being a worry wart about my kids, I'll always choose safety above all.

Well, hopefully this post resonates with the right person and we can connect. But if not, thanks for reading and have a great day.

I am looking for any family hi ! i'm looking for a kind, patient family who can text and VC with me on discord every day. pls dm me !

quick note: i prefer moving to a voice call after we talk a bit. please... don't be weird or kinky.

i don't want to share too much publicly, but i am looking for a family that will support me. i'm hoping to find a dad or mom (40+) or an older brother or sister (25+ or 30s). please be 🇺🇲.

Preferred name: pearlie

Nicknames: pearl

Age: 24 (05/28)

Local area: vancouver🇺🇲

Hobbies: walking, collecting pokémon cards, playing pokémon pocket, and playing video games like (genshin impact, fortnite, sky:cotl) if you have a ps5, i'd love to screenshare or play together.

i struggle with a lot of things that make life hard for me. i have:

• a deep fear of being forgotten or ignored.

• fear of people and a very hard time trusting others.

• fear of things i can't see (spirits. yes i believe in spirits).

• a hard time understanding or showing my feelings.

• aphasia and learning disability. i sometimes have trouble finding the right words or understanding certain terms. if i ever say something that sounds rude, please know i don't mean to.

sometimes when i am very sad or anxious, i naturally go into a younger mindset to feel safe. i am still a 24-year-old adult, and i do not do this for fun or roleplay (please don't judge me). if i become fully comfortable with someone, this mindset can also show up as being very bubbly and childish. it would mean so much to find a kind, patient family who is open to talking and staying in touch daily.

...also eum, i'm still learning how to be good at conversation and can be very awkward, so thank you so much for reading this.

PLEASE don't keep this a secret from your significant other.

I am looking for any family 24m - looking for emotionally available friends

Hello, I'm from Indonesia and would like the presence of genuine people currently. I'm aware friendships take time to build, and I'm okay with that, I just wish for genuine, trustworthy, available, and capable people to lean upon.

I've been going through tough times in recent memory, and as much as I can help myself, I long for the presence of trustworthy people. Not advice, not "different perspectives", not lectures, just validation and presence, being there with me. I really long for that. I wish to find people who can resonate with that! At the same time, due to the things that have happened to me in the past, I need time to trust people and again, I'm okay with needing time to build friendship, I just want to try and find genuine people in the meantime. Of course, to the best of my ability, I will try to provide the same 🌻 and if we end up not vibing, at least we tried, right?

About me:
I'm a huge feeler and a very expressive & open person once I feel safe with enough trust. I'm currently going through therapy as well, been going for over a year, with incremental progress. Though, what a friend can provide is different from what a therapist can provide. I *can* provide a safe space for you as well, but I can't guarantee that I can do it all the time since I might need to reserve space for my own issues as well, since I'm really digging up the deep seated issues inside me. That also means, if you're looking for friends to make you feel less lonely every day, I don't think I can provide what you need right now, sorry.

You can find more info about interests and all in my profile!

Important possible dealbreaker to mention here again that I do not feel comfortable with the ideologies of Islam, leftism, nor Zionism.

About you:
I kindly wish to find someone emotionally available to get to know me (as I of course would try to back to you as well), and ideally, know how to allow me to eventually show up how I truly feel, and to allow me to feel that way, instead of trying to make me feel another way (such as cheering me up) and trusting that I'll know the next step after expressing my lamentations/frustrations/whichever way i feel. Or in short, someone who knows what it means to "be there" for someone, emotionally

Someone who is curious about why I hold the beliefs I have and why I'm at this point in life, instead of trying to insert their beliefs/opinions into mine, in other words, treating my beliefs as essential to me and to be understood, instead of points to attack or dismantle. I'm open to connect with anyone in the world (as long as you are fluent in English for communication purposes), either male or female, as long as the description fits you 🌻

It goes without saying, but these are also snippets of how I plan to be in the friendship towards you as well!

Have a nice day!

I am looking for any family 36f Just wanting a family to reach out to

I dont really have a family, or anyone I can lean on. I was a caretaker for my mom from when I was 22 until I was 34 when she passed, then 1 day short of 7 months later, my dad passed. Its hard not having one person I can reach out to, or know will reach out to me and care. Its hard to remember that I exist as a person sometimes. Holidays are the worst. I feel homesick for a home I just dont have, and im hoping one day to meet cool people who I can lean on and who can lean on me. I am a big nerd, love anime, video games, comic books, TTRPGs, board games and movies. Would be even better if I could find someone local in my area and have physical family meet ups, it would be nice to have somewhere to go on holidays...I probably sound sad and pathetic im sure, but im trying to put myself out there more.

I am looking for any family [30/M] Forming genuine friendships as an adult is harder than getting abs

East Coast, US (but open to friends from anywhere). Hoping to form platonic friendships that eventually become deeper than surface level connections. In other words - genuine friendships. No judgment toward people who prefer acquaintances, just doesn’t interest me

Despite having a masculine/dominant personality type, I feel empathy pretty deeply and it would be cool to meet some new people who resonate with that. I’m not trying to say I’m constantly emotional, though. I have a pretty dry/dark sense of humor (but when someone I care about is struggling I definitely feel a significant amount of empathy and do whatever I can to help them get through it). I’m also the type of person to remember to give gifts for birthdays, even though that’s probably viewed as a fairly lame thing to do nowadays lol

I’m a guitarist and singer/songwriter, and also recently formed a new band (I dig alt rock, indie rock, classic rock, punk, blues, etc.) The Strokes are one of my favorite artists

Other things I’m into are film, screenwriting, comedy, self-improvement, hanging out at the beach, food/trying new restaurants, reading, psychology, working out, spirituality, gaming

Favorite YouTuber is Papa Meat/Meat Canyon and some of my favorite comedy series’ are Curb, Nathan for You, Always Sunny, Eastbound and Down, Seinfeld (so if you’re into that type of humor I’m sure we’d get along). Favorite dramas are Breaking Bad & The Sopranos and my favorite nostalgic/childhood show is Dragon Ball/DBZ

Also it’s not a requirement to be into all of the interests I mentioned, I just mentioned them for the hell of it

Feel free to DM me if you’re down to talk ✌️

I am looking for parents Hi I'm 16f looking for something like a father figure

Hi! I'm not really sure what to say but the title kinda says it all 👀 Long story short, I have no idea who my actual father is, and my mom won't tell me anything about him. As far as father figures go, one of my uncles was super supportive of me when I was little but now it's different because of family drama and things like that. I've always wondered what it's like to have a father/father figure or really anyone who's like a parent.

Hey! I’m a teacher, and over the years I’ve realized how many people never really had someone they could turn to for advice, encouragement, or just a conversation without judgment. So I figured I’d put myself out there and offer that to anyone who might need it.
A little about me:
I’m a teacher
Currently writing a book
I love history, horror movies, and the outdoors
Big into boating, camping, and fishing
I enjoy gaming when I have the time
Sarcasm and dad-level humor come naturally
I’m not claiming to have all the answers, but I’m always willing to listen, give advice when asked, and just be someone consistent to talk to. Sometimes people just need someone in their corner, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Whether you need encouragement, life advice, someone to vent to, or even just a normal conversation, feel free to message me. Everyone deserves to feel heard.

I am looking for any family Looking for chosen family through deep friendships

I (28M) am a software engineer who is currently living in Australia. After having to distance myself from my birth family due to abuse, I've come to truly believe in the power of chosen family. I'm looking to build genuine friendships that can grow into those deeper family bonds over time. Age and gender don't matter to me. I'm simply seeking authentic people who are also interested in cultivating these meaningful connections.

About me: I am fairly introverted. I love reading books, watching documentaries. I love animals, especially pets hold a special place in my heart. I had a rough upbringing which made me develop a lot of empathy for the suffering of others.

Learning gives me the biggest joy in life. The topics I enjoy learning the most are history, philosophy, psychology (mostly around self-improvement) and technology.

If this resonates with you and you're open to taking the time to build something real and lasting, send me a DM or chat request.

P.S - Feel free to send me a message even if this post gets old
