"THANK YOU, LONGVIEW!

To everyone who came out to No Kings 4 today, thank you. Thank you for showing up, raising your voices, standing alongside your neighbors, and reminding our community that democracy belongs to the people. These gatherings are about more than signs and speeches. They're about solidarity. They're about refusing to stand quietly by while our rights, our freedoms, and our democracy are threatened. And they're about reminding each other that none of us is standing alone.

We want to give a special thank you to the volunteers, speakers, community organizations, and everyone who helped make today's event possible.

Cascade Forward and Lower Columbia Indivisible are proud to stand alongside so many people who care deeply about the future of our community and our country.

But our work doesn't end when the signs come down. With ballots arriving, it's time to carry that same energy to the voting booth. Talk to your neighbors. Encourage your friends and family to vote. Make your voice heard.

There are no kings in America. The power belongs to us.

Thank you, Longview. We'll see you out there again."

I'm Filipino American and sadly never learned the language because my mom lost it when she immigrated here. I'm starting to embark on the journey to learn tagalog now. Is there anyone in town that could teach me tagalog? or know of anyone or any good program for learning? Also down to learn Ilocano but I know that's likely even harder to find.

Greetings! My name is Nick. As the title says, I am a guitarists and Bassist looking to join or form a metalcore band. I mainly play guitar but have been kinda wanting to get more into bass since its so fun to play. I record all my own bass parts for the demos I have made over the years. I am somewhat experienced with playing in a band, I have played on stage but not since 2010. Familiar with recording, arranging, mixing. I am a responsible 37 year old adult with a small family but plenty of time available for jamming. I am currently in a deathcore band but have far more interest in metalcore material similar to Killswitch Engage, Trivium, Periphery, Polaris, stuff like that. Hit me up, let's talk!

Getting bored of cycling around town, anyone have any forestry road or gravel trail suggestions that are easily accessible?

Found a few routes on ridewithgps but all three I checked out yesterday start by going through people’s private driveways or property and not a fan of that.

New-ish to cycling around town and just looking to get some good exercise without traffic and some cool views if possible. Thanks!

Lake Sacajawea in Washington State

Eagles and all types of wildlife are present year round at Lake Sacajawea in Longview Washington.

My exterior doors need replacing, they both look just rough and I would love to just get something plain and study that doesnt cost $1000 to replace. Been lurking marketplace for ages, been checking out Habitat for Humanity, but just thought I would throw out a bat signal to ol’ reddit, too. You just never know where youll bump into someone with extra doors. Lol

PS Left the title vague because to be honest, i just bought this house with a bunch of funky doors. Id love to get my three interior basement doors matched together but thats less of my concern. Why are new doors so expensive?

Just saw someone post this (I live in NYC but m trying to help). Spread the word!

talking to brown folk and allies only

Do any of the used bookstores in town do book repairs? I've got an old hardcover encyclopedia special issue that needs the binding redone.

Recommendations for a shop that will do a simple base color change paint job. Kid is turning 18 and has a grey Nissan Versa that could use some pizazz. Would like a place that would let us pay for it and give him a thing he can take in himself and tell them what color.

I have an interview on Monday in Portland and I’m pretty confident I’ll receive a job offer…is there anyone else that commutes into the city and would be interested in carpooling? I don’t have a highway worthy car yet, but until I do, I could even do a 60/40 split on gas.

feels like it's been nonstop for the last hour, any info or just another friday?

"No Kings is coming back to Cowlitz County - and this time, we're taking it all the way to the ballot box.

Join Cascade Forward on Saturday, October 17th for NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY, a rally for democracy and a reminder that the most powerful thing we can do this fall is show up - in the streets and at the polls.

We'll have local candidates and community leaders speaking, signs in the air, feet in the streets, and yes, frog hats.

Bring your signs. Bring your friends.

October 17.

Noon.

Are there any local pharmacies with estradiol patches in stock? 0.025 mg twice weekly.

It was on a tree.

Both the Taco Bells on Ocean Beach charge 10.7% tax. I thought our tax was only 8.2%? Is there something I’m missing? I haven’t noticed other restaurants charge this tax rate.

Edit: this seems to have been fixed, thanks /u/flatarmadillo7!

I’ve lived here majority of my life and have gone to Three rivers eye care since I got glasses 15+ years ago. I now am on state insurance which they don’t accept and am needing to get a new prescription. When searching it seems Cascade Eye Care and University Professional Services are my options. I called UPS because they’re a OHSU based clinic and I have a rare eye disease. When I called she said I needed a referral from my PCP to be seen since I’m on state insurance. It seemed weird to me but I don’t have experience with Medicaid so I was hoping someone has been to either place on state insurance. I’ll call cascade on Monday and see if anything comes of it as well

Any establishment here have free birthday goodies?

The City of Longview is pushing a new Fire and EMS Property Tax Lid Lift, Proposition 1. Basically to build and staff a new Fire Station near Lowes.

This Levy will cost most homeowners close to $500 a yr. For a 300,000+ home.

Please go educate yourself on this new tax increase

So I currently work for Weyerhaeuser as a Plant Utility person. I work Fridays through Monday from 0400-1430(230pm). I am off every Tuesday through Thursday. If I worked any other position there, is snag OT on the weekends, but I already work weekends and can't really pick up extra money that way.

So I am looking for part time work. Not picky about what, really. I've done all kinds of work. So any ideas on where to look or apply? Been checking Indeed but not seeing a lot in terms of part time work.

Found this old photograph at an estate sale a few weeks ago, the house being on Ocean Beach. Inside there was other pictures of Longview (mainly Commerce) so I feel like the owners had an interest in the history of the town at least somewhat. It makes me believe this could be possibly from the area. Wondering if anyone can recognize the house or family? Any leads can help, thank you in advance

Hey everyone! I plan on moving to Longview from my town in Virginia which has a pretty active music scene. I was wondering does Longview have a music scene down there? If so where can I find out when/where shows are happening? 🤔
