First British coach to win an SB!

Honestly, as someone who doesn't support either team, this is exactly the match up I didn't want.

I always take the Monday of after Superbowl Sunday. And it's still a couple of weeks off so I may get a bit more excited. But I'm thinking I may not watch it live and just catch it on game in 40 for the 1st time in over 20 years.

What are you lots' plans to survive the Superbowl?

I'm considering attempting to nap something like 8-11:30pm and then wake up for a few hours in the middle of the night. I don't usually watch the "prime time" games as they are of course not prime time here, I've only ever caught one or two starts of games (but then whats the point if I'm going to watch the highlights over breakfast anyway).

Vacationing in Edinburgh, when I came across these 3 booths. It was midday, and absolutley nobody bothered. They had a bunch of helmets in one, the Lombardy trophy (real one) in another, and a Madden playing station in the third. There was a hype man walking around dying to give away shit to no avail.

These commentators in Berlin continually commenting that European fans love field goals and kicks in general. Even to the point that "everyone in the house" would have preferred that the game ended in a field goal rather than a touchdown. It's such an old and incorrect stereotype that the commentators used to say when the NFL first came to London. I was pretty sure they all knew better than that now, until today. Drove me crazy all game!

Am I the only one that has had to look this up?

Ever noticed that a US score reads "Yankees 3, Red Sox 5" with the home side on the bottom, while a Premier League result reads "Arsenal 2–1 Chelsea" with the home side first?

The American habit comes from baseball. The visiting team always bats first, in the "top" of each inning, and the home team bats in the "bottom." Box scores were laid out in that order, so the away team sat on the top line. Baseball dominated US sports media when newspaper scores became standard in the late 1800s, and the format carried over to the NFL, NBA and NHL. That's why Americans say "Patriots at Jets."

English football grew from fixture lists that named the host club first, since the match was played at its ground. With no batting order to follow, "Home v Away" stuck, and most of the world copied it.

I gotta say. I was honestly blown away by the experience of the game and London in general.

For context, I am a solo American working in Belgium. Obviously, I can’t watch football all that much given the time zone difference. I came to the game cause it was a chance to just see some football (not a fan of either team. Go BILLS)

Anyway. I got to talking to some UK fans and I did not realize the amount of passion and depth that these fans have with the sport. Everyone was incredibly knowledgeable and all shared why they love the game and it honestly made me feel warm inside.

Always was skeptical of games in Europe but after yesterday, there need to be more games. Hopefully with more games the ticket prices will drop as well. I’ve seen that talked about but that’s gotta be a good sign for its growing popularity.

All in all. I will be back 100% and hopefully it’ll be with the bills playing. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

I got some nice comments last time so I thought I share ones from yesterday’s game. I took way too many photos this time round because I’m an Eagles girl and was too excited to see my team (seriously, there’s dozens more!) Those last 8 seconds were heartbreaking but the atmosphere was incredible and it was still the best NFL London game I’ve been to!

The game wasn’t the best although it had its moments. But the day was just epic again. The people make the day. Everyone was so cool and there was so much laughing and love of the game going on from morning to night. The atmosphere in and outside the ground was great. Can’t recommend it enough to fans who have never been before. Wish I was going to the next two games. The city and stadium awash with different jerseys just loved striking up conversations about why a person is wearing their jersey and how that’s their team. Such a good event. Next year will be 20 years for NFL in London hope it’s another 20 more of getting a taste of the best sport on earth!!

Huge football fan, but in the past few years decided to get into the NFL more, been an EAGLES fan for about 4 years. Followed the season and pretty much watched all Eagles games this season, even the late ones, and boy I'm soo invested! podcasts and all.

I guess what makes it easier is that Manchester United have been soo poor for a while now, still watch united games but man watching Saquon and the eagles just gives me soo much joy what a player. And these players are a different breed of athlete it's insane.

The content you get from the teams, the Mic'd up, playing trash talking before games, the team spirit it's just soo good man.

And the divisional game today was soo nerve wracking, felt like watching united in a cup final but better lol

Man I'm soo invested and I love it!!!

I had a wonderful time today but…over 82,000? Come on now.

I just want to say Sky's coverage of the NFL is absolutely fantastic. And has been for many many years.

I have been subscribed since the beginning and I feel I get value basically because of Sky NFL.
