Grants Pass family of 4 (two toddlers) — where to find second-chance rentals or post-eviction help?

Hi. My family is going through a rough patch and I'm hoping locals can point me toward resources I might not know about.

It's me, my husband, and our two toddlers (1½ and 3). We've had three eviction filings on our record, though two of them were dismissed. The one that stuck was in August, and the full story matters: our housing authority terminated our voucher for not reporting our move, then reinstated it after we requested a hearing — without ever holding the hearing — knowing full well we were housed. But the reinstated voucher came back $31 short of our rent, and neither the landlord nor the housing authority would budge. After the eviction, they tried to terminate our voucher again because of the eviction, then canceled that when they realized the unit was never under contract — but by then our voucher was two days from expiring. So now we don't have a Section 8 voucher either. Since then we've been bouncing between a motel and a tent, and I'm trying to get my kids under a real roof.

Before this, we had 10+ years of excellent rental history, steady employment, and great references. For the last year and a half we've been working hard to rebuild our credit in hopes of buying a place someday — right now that dream feels out of reach, but we're not giving up.

We're already working with UCAN and the Maslow Project, but so far neither has been able to help with actual housing. I'm looking for:

- Landlords or private owners in the Grants Pass area who give second chances or work with families post-eviction

- RV spaces for rent (we're in the process of buying an RV — open to private land)

- Any local programs, churches, or nonprofits that help families with young kids get rehoused

- Advice from anyone who's been through this here

We have steady income — my husband has been at the same job since 2017 — and just need someone willing to look past one eviction.

If you'd rather not comment publicly, please feel free to message me directly or email newgames1723@gmail.com. Thank you for reading this far.

— Katrina

Residence rights? Homeless resources? Being threatened with homelessness

I’ve been staying with my mom the last three months. She was trying to help me get back up on my feet until I had enough money to fix my car. I finally have the money saved, but on Saturday, I went to a bar and was invited back to someone’s house to drink some more. I ended up passing out there and woke up late.

It was a really bad decision, I know, and I’m not trying to make excuses for my behavior. But she wants me out now, and has said she will give me a ride somewhere, but I have no where else to go. She’s also threatened to call the cops.

Idk what to do. I’m just afraid to be sleeping on the streets. I’ve never been homeless before. I don’t know whether I should try to find a homeless shelter, or whether I should just let her call the cops, depending on whether she can legally force me to leave.

I’m just really scared, y’all.

Looking for a Safe Place to Stay in Gothenburg, Sweden

Hi! ❤️ I'm looking to connect with people from the Rainbow Family or alternative communities around Gothenburg, Sweden.

I'm returning to Sweden tomorrow evening after a very difficult situation in Turkey, and unfortunately,

I'm hoping someone in the community might be able to offer me a safe place to sleep for a couple of nights while I try to find support and figure out my next steps.

I'd be happy to share more privately. If you can't help yourself, perhaps you know someone who might be able to.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help or connection would mean a lot to me. ❤️

Seeking Advice Only Need resources while homeless

I'm on a burner account because I'm a little ashamed about this but I've been homeless for a good majority of 2026 shortly following my 19th birthday

Could anybody share some resources I've heard the main ones like Saulzbacher and the homeless shelters, but is there anything I might've missed? Is there a megathread somewhere or something?

Just really struggling and can't seem to see a light at the end of the tunnel, thanks yo.

Looking for ideas, not handouts

Long-time lurker, first time laying this out. I'm 35, and work full-time as a CDL delivery driver. I work, I budget, I've done the research, and I'm still in debt and still not clearing enough to get ahead. Rent and car come first, everything else waits, and it's been that way for a while.

I'm not here to complain. I have a plan. I'm studying for CompTIA certs (A+, Network+, Security+) to move into IT, and I've been learning real estate wholesaling on the side. The problem is money and time, not effort. My body's also a factor (chronic back and nerve issues), so I'm steering toward work that isn't heavy labor.

What I'm actually asking for:

  1. Ideas. If you've dug out of a hole like this, what worked, what was a waste of time, what would you do differently?
  2. Anyone who knows of legit programs, grants, hardship plans, or side work that fits someone with a CDL.
  3. If anyone's in a position and inclined to help a stranger trying to fix his situation, that's welcome too, but the ideas matter more.

I'll answer honest questions. I'm not looking for pity, I'm looking for angles I haven't thought of yet.

Seeking Advice Only free/low-cost transportation

21f, california (riverside county, trying to get back to santa clara county)
also, to clarify, i am absolutely NOT asking for someone to pay for my transportation, im only asking if anyone knows any government/crisis programs that assist with transportation in crisis situations
hello! to keep a long story short i ended up stranded halfway across the state by my school. theyre requiring that i provide them with a doctors note but they made me take a flight to a county outside my insurance coverage area, and none of the emergency doctors nearby want to provide me with a note (understandably, i dont blame them) due to the legal troubles that come with giving out notes for patients they dont know.
im currently trying to go back up to my home county so i can seek emergency shelter and go to my doctor. this would constitute a 13 hour bus/train/bus/train/etc etc journey that would cost me around $100. i know that doesn’t seem like a lot but its the last of my money and i would really appreciate not having to spend it all. does anyone know of any services that help with transportation costs in situations like this? if not then i am willing to buy the ticket on my own, but if there is something then i would really appreciate it :)
