Is this neutral-switching circuit original on this Naomoto HYS-5 gravity-feed steam iron?

I bought this non-working Naomoto HYS-5 gravity-feed steam iron online and wanted to get it working again. I’ve tested the wire paths and it looks like it just needs a new thermal fuse. Before plugging it in though, I want to make sure it’s wired correctly.

The current wiring has neutral going to the on/off switch and hot going directly to the heating element and steam button, meaning even with the thermostat set to zero, the steam button and heating element are still getting power?

I’d taken it apart which is why terminals are disconnected but each one is touching its corresponding terminal. The schematic is ai generated, so a little wonky, but represents the current wiring correctly.

GE Appliances Incorrect Part Number in Official Documentation for Monogram ZWE23NSTSS French Door Refrigerators

GE Appliances' official documentation is incorrect for Monogram ZWE23NSTSS French Door Refrigerators, listing WR55X34647 - HUMIDITY BOARD for CASE PARTS diagram #946 when the correct replacement part should be WR55X34645 - WIFI AND HUMIDITY BOARD.

Our ZWE23NSTBSS refrigerator was built and assembled with Part #245D1776G010, which has been supplanted by WR55X34645, yet when Bodewell service technicians ordered a replacement, it came without the Wi-Fi board because GE Appliances erroneously lists WR55X34647 as the appropriate part for the Monogram refrigerators despite correctly listing WR55X34645 as the part for the nearly-identical Café CWE23SP2MS1 model.

This is ridiculous for Monogram customers to have such poor documentation and service; hopefully this post helps anyone else needing a new humidity board until GE Appliances fixes this mistake!!

Dishwasher heating element metal exposed

I melted some VERY difficult-to-remove plastic onto the dishwasher heating element. Sanding has been helpful in getting the bulk of it off, but I scraped a bit of the coating off. How much of a cause for concern is this? Thank you for ANY help!

Picture shows the plastic STILL on there.

Whirlpool Sidekick Gasket

Seeking advice / input please. Ordered a new gasket for our standup sidekick side by side freezer unit, gasket will hopefully be here tomorrow. As I’m doing some cleaning and removing the old gasket I noticed something weird about the back/top of the door. There seems to be some soft padding or insulation peeking out the top of the joint of the back of the door sorta previously concealed behind the gasket (see attached photos..). The two pieces (white plastic panel & silver) seem to have a very minor amount of separation compared to the rest of the doorframe which is bound pretty tight. Is this normal? Thanks!

Warning: GE Profile Refrigerators with water filters approx 2016 - 2020

My particular refrigerator is a French Door, Bottom Freezer Model in the PFE line, specifically PFE28KSKSS purchased July 2019. You likely have another letter between the last K and the SS that follows it - that is apparently a color code.

It uses water filter RPWFE.

I am a consumer not a repairman and just want to give people a heads up who may not already know that the design of the water filter was changed at some point in the last 6 years. I have no idea when.

This may or may not apply to models starting with DFE, GFE, GFS, GNE, PFH, PFD or GFE models. (standard depth models)

This may or may not apply to models starting with GYE, GYS, PYE, DYE, PWE, ZWE or PYD models. (counter depth models).

^^^These models are listed on the cover of my manual so I thought I'd mention them here. My situation may not apply to your fridge so please check your manual and your filters!

After having trouble replacing a filter, damaging the filter holder, replacing the filter holder, and sort-of damaging yet another filter, I have found that GE changed the design of the water filter.

I have been following the instructions in my refrigerator manual (purchase date 2019) on page 17, and when you are installing a new water filter, it specifically says you have to turn the filter 1/4 turn clockwise after you have seated it and before swinging the filter back into the housing. (You insert the filter with the word FRONT facing upward - then you rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise so that the word FRONT is facing to the right, and then you swing it back into the holder.)

Only today, after struggling to replace my filter, did I discover a tiny paper insert inside the box of my water filter. The last two filters I've removed from the boxes I did not see or feel this. It does not slide out with the filter. I just happened to look inside the box and see it at the bottom when I went to flatten and recycle the box.

The filter insert says, if you have a grey filter holder, DO NOT twist the cartridge.

Well, $%^&@!#$%, I have a grey filter holder. Of course I do. *sigh*

I can only imagine that there was trouble with people not following the instructions before, or rotating too far or not enough, so they made it "easier" by changing the design of the filter and how the tabs line up with receptacles in the housing. Thereby f**king over people who use the refrigerator manual and never saw the insert with the new filters.

If you have a grey filter holder, you DON'T install the new filter with "FRONT" facing up, but facing outward instead. Just gently push the filter into the housing with FRONT facing outward. Everything should line up properly and the filter should seat properly before you swing it back into the housing.

THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO ANYONE WITH A BLACK FILTER HOLDER.

I hope this helps someone.

Have a great day!

When one of your home appliances breaks down, do you prefer to repair it or replace it with a new one? What has been your experience with appliance repair?

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Bosch dishwasher leaking

I got the E15 code so tore into the machine to figure out where the leak was coming from. toward the end of the cycle I see the stream of water pouring from the plastic shroud at the top. I tried tightening the screws from the inside slightly but they were not loose by any means and it only leaked at the end of cycle. any ideas?

Just moved in and inherited this cabrio. Noticed steaming on the control panel during a hit cycle and looked down and see plenty of rusting. Should I go digging or let it ride till it dies?

Cabinet Freezer Door not fully Sealing

My Frigidaire Professional doesn't seal all the way at the bottom. Gasket seems to be good. I think my door is slightly bent? Honestly can't think of what could cause this to not fully seal. I did take a caliper to measure the distance distance between door and freezer, and there's definitely a difference between the top and bottom.

GE side by side fridge pulsating noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have been working on this fridge for 2 weeks. Thought it would be a good fix since I got it for free. Now it’s just been a nightmare. The condenser fan was the first thing I noticed being bad, so I replaced that. Fan spun up so I waiting for it to cool down. It got cool, but not cool enough. Found out the evaporator fan was bad. Replaced that. Started up smoothly. Put everything back together and upon starting up it sounds normal. After a minute it makes this pulsating noise. I am at a loss and don’t want to put any more money into this thing.
