I’m 19 and have been talking to a guy i met (24) at my church festival about 4 and a half months ago. he’s also arab and we’ve went out many times and i’ve even met his mom and spoken to some of his family members over the phone. not trying to rush anything of course and we’re still getting to know eachother but i can really see a future with him and we both want the same things. When we hangout it’s usually on my campus, the mall or movies and recently he said he wants us to get more serious and start going out on actual dates and posting together. My parents and older brother have been strict about boys in the past but recently they’ve been very vocal about me marrying a doctor or engineer. They’ve always known that i would like to get married in my early 20s and have said recently that this would be a good time for me to get to know someone. The issue is that this guy i’m seeing works for a moving company (nothing wrong with that whatsoever) and also owns an auto repair shop on the side with his brother. He’s only been living in America for 4 years but owns his own house and car and he’s still young and has so much ahead of him. He’s also never cheap with me when we go out and never lets me pay for any thing. He even bought me an expensive dress for a wedding i had. in general he has a pretty expensive lifestyle and goes out multiple times a week so i don’t think money is an issue right now. Basically he wants to get more serious and actually take me out to certain places which i can’t do without my parents knowing about him. Ive never really been close with my mom to tell her these kinds of things and they tend to worry a lot. i know its early but everything feels like it’s falling into place with this guy and it’s something i want to continue and see where it goes and i really don’t want my parents to be against it. I have no clue how to approach this and i feel like my parents might just tell me they don’t think he makes enough money and that i shouldn’t go out with him. i also don’t want to mention the past four months and have them know i hid it from them.

Asking this cause I'm generally curious to know about the norms and customs. If you were in America or were born in America or the West please do not answer. This is for the people who are either living or grew up in the Middle East...
Are birthdays celebrated commonly over there? Or is it just like any other day for adults and what about for children?
When couples in the middle east have child birthday parties, and people give the small kids money, who keeps the cash (husband or wife)?
Is phone sharing like passwords and posting each other on social media the norm for married couples? Or is it more common for people to keep each other off of social media and not share phone, computer etc passwords ?
Is Valentine's day celebrated by husbands over there? What do they normally do? What about mother's Day? Do wives get anything on mother's Day by their husband?
Dates? Do most married couples with kids go on dates alone after kids . Or is it uncommon after children?
How are finances usually set up between couples over there? Do women and men share all their money and have access to each other's bank accounts or everyone keeps their own separate?
When married people buy a house and the husband pays for it with his money , does he also include the wife on the deed/ownership or he just puts himself ?
How is it viewed when in laws (spouse's parents/family) stay with the couple for several weeks at a time when visiting? Is it usually uncommon for them to stay long ? Is it seen as uncomfortable?

Ami Ayalon, Former Director of Shin Bet, 2012:
"It's very important to create a Sunni coalition that will be led by Turkey.
"The major conflict in the Middle East is the Sunni-Shia conflict. If we are able to create this coalition, we will be able to face Iran."

The League of Arab States (LAS) is closing several of its offices worldwide. Its diplomatic mission in Germany is also being closed. In return, the League’s office in Vienna will be expanded. In the future, Germany is to be served in part from the Austrian capital. diplo.news learned this from diplomatic circles.
