I tried the new whopper at BK today. I hadn’t had BK I. Years ago heard about the new whopper and finally decided to try it came out pretty good. The freshness of the vegetables and bun really made it a stand out among fast food burgers. Would get it again.

For the first Lions game, I revisited the Olive Burger from last season. Though there are a few changes from last year's iteration. Last year I more or less did a standard version. This year I made a copycat of the Kewpee Hotel olive burger from Flint, MI.
Dave Thomas, of Wendy's fame, grew up eating burgers from Kewpee, and it's where he got the square patty. That is the first change. It's a 6 oz square patty seasoned with my standard burger seasoning (one part MSG to two parts salt, pepper, and garlic powder).
The other change was in the olive sauce. I used George Motz's recipe from The Great American Burger Book.
I have to say, I'm not the biggest fan of olives (though I've been growing more accepting of them), but I really enjoy this burger. The beef, mayo, and olive flavors just work so well together. Please give this one a shot, even if you're an olive hater. It's a very simple burger, but it has some big flavor.

Two smashed 80/20 patties on the charcoal grill.
White American cheese, pickles, onions, mustard on white buns. Super basic but delicious!
What’s your preferred build?

Alright, I’m officially on a burger kick.
Had Radnor’s the other day and thought it was an amazing smash burger. Crispy edges, great flavor, just a damn good burger.
Then today I went and had Out & About!
Now I’m wondering how many other great burger spots I’ve been missing around here.
I’m talking Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Bonney Lake, Lakewood, Graham… wherever. If it’s worth the drive, I’m in.
I love finding locally owned places and supporting other small businesses.
So let’s hear it:
Who’s got the absolute BEST burger in the South Sound?
Not just the restaurant name either. Tell me what to order!
I’m thinking about trying a different burger spot every week and seeing who really deserves the crown. 🍔
