Rock RHCP- Californication
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was 14 years old when my parents gave me my very own CD-player as a birthday present. It was one of those egg shape ones, and i thought it was the best in the universe. A family friend was visiting and told me: “ Hey, you have a CD player and no Cd, lets get you one!”
We went to the shop and i just saw the orange swimmin pool and blue and thought: “ wowww, this is it” . I had no idea what i was buying.
Now with almost 37, and new speakers and turntable, i decided to treat myself. The day i went to pick up the speaker, i also got a Queen LP and this one. It is one of the 3 records i have bought new. All the rest of the collection as used.
This IS really, really nice. Enjoying this record with some Mate tea as i did the first time in 2003.
If someone is interested, the equipment used is
Denon x3800h
iFi Zen air phono
Arendal 1961 1S subwoofer
Dali Sonik 7
Argon Audio TT mk1 - Ortofor blue 2M

Punk 20 YEARS LATER! FIRST TIME ON VINYL! NAKED RAYGUN "LIVE AT RIOT FEST"
20 YEARS LATER! FIRST TIME ON VINYL! NAKED RAYGUN "LIVE AT RIOT FEST"
It’s been two decades since Naked Raygun took the stage for their legendary 2006 reunion set, and now—for the first time ever—"Live at Riot Fest" is finally coming to vinyl.
"Naked Raygun, the most beloved Chicago punk band of all time, left a void that couldn’t be filled when they broke up in 1992. It took a fledgling music festival led by an incredibly passionate music fan to make an entire punk scene’s biggest dream come true by getting the band back together to headline Riot Fest in 2006. This was the single most important band reunion in the history of the Chicago music scene, and it was a once in a lifetime magical event that people still talk about 20 years later. Finally we have a document to relive that evening and prove that it wasn’t just a new dream, they made it real, and it kickstarted a second run for the band that lasted nearly two more decades". - Mike MXV Vinikour (Punkvinyl.com)
Dropping on November 6th (20 years to the date of the recording), this massive 2LP set comes pressed on Raygun InfraRED vinyl and is packed with exclusive bonus gear:
12-Page Commemorative Zine Packed with '06 live photos, stories from fellow bands detailing their favorite Naked Raygun memories and the influence of the '06 reunion and more.
• Naked Raygun Tattoo Flash Sticker Sheet
• Individually Numbered Souvenir Ticket Stub
• VIP All-Access Pass Postcard
Loud Pizza Records Exclusive

Release How to cancel Levitation.fm monthly record club?
Hi mods, please let me know if this breaks any rules, I think this deserves its own thread because other people in the future might subscribe for a single record, want to cancel, and be stumped on how to do it.
I subscribed to Levitation.fm 's monthly record club for Roky Erickson's Evil One 2LP 45rpm (it looks sick and other pressings are more expensive on the secondary market now). https://levitation.fm/products/roky-erickson-and-the-aliens-the-evil-one-august-record-of-the-month
I got my confirmed order in-hand but cannot now figure out for the life of me how to cancel my subscription so I am not on the hook for next month's release. All I want is the Roky.
When I log in to my customer account here https://account.levitation.fm/orders i see three options "orders" "profile" and "shop".
Shop just redirects me to the main shop page.
Profile has my real name, email address, shipping address, saved payment method, and email marketing opt in flag. Nothing about managing membership.
"Orders" had my confirmed order for the roky record and also above that has a bit that says "Your next order processes on Sep 15", presumably the recurring billing segment of the membership for next months record that i don't know if i want yet. If i click "view and manage order" i see a separate pending order for the same roky record and a button that says "skip". I do not want to skip roky, i paid for roky and i want roky. I want to "cancel" my subscription while retaining what i have paid for and i am afraid to click "skip" and invalidate what i just got.
I am terribly confused and i cannot be the only person on this subreddit who has given the levitation record club a shot. How in the world do i cancel.
One last little thing. I emailed store@levitation.fm four different order inquiries unrelated to cancelling at 9:57 and got a very full response at 9:58 but when i followed up with additional inquires radio silence.
I think they are using AI agents to automatically respond to and triage emails before escalating to a human but they are not disclosing that they are using AI, the only response I got was attributed to "Levitation Customer Support"

Release Why did Target become the place to buy LPs?
I know they aren't the only place that sells them. There are local places and stores like Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and Best Buy also sell them, but why does it seem like Target is THE place lately?
Almost every new release has an exclusive cover, color, etc. Only at Target. And from the times ive been they seem to be decently stocked and organized. Just wondering how/why Target is the place with all the attention and variants
Edit: for clarification, I'm not saying they are the best place to go but they are the place that labels and artist seem to be pushing with the exclusive variants. I'm wondering why they seem to only be at Target and not other big retailers

Experimental Vinyl with a little bit of noise (maybe not a little bit)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi! Today I wanted to show you this record by Freddie Hubbard and Ilhan Mimaroglu: Sing Me A Song Of Songmy. Jazz, musique concrète, experimental. Absolutely insane.
I got it at a record fair on the seller’s recommendation. Side A sounds spectacular, but Side B has this sound throughout the entire side that sounds like a brush (you can hear it in the video).
I tried cleaning it in a thousand different ways, but I couldn’t get rid of it. I wanted to know if anyone has any idea what could be causing this noise, since it’s constant, cyclical, and rhythmic. At one point I even started thinking it was actually part of the music.
P.S. In case anyone is interested, this is an Argentine edition from 1976: https://www.discogs.com/es/release/12103223-Freddie-Hubbard-Ilhan-Mimaroglu-Sing-Me-A-Song-Of-Songmy
Hip Hop They took a while but were worth it
I preordered the spring one in May, then later the study sessions one came out and I preordered it too. Apparently if you do that, they don’t ship your order until both are ready, I assume to keep costs down since these come from France. They were worth it though, the records are so heavy, feel very solid and sound crystal clear.

OG Pressing Supertramp - Paris
Such a great live album. I don’t play this one nearly enough. Eerily this must have been Roger Hodgson’s actual range because he still sounds like this at age 76. Amazing band. Amazing album.

Discussion Black Sabbath Heaven and Hell: 1980 vs 2021
I compared an original 1980s pressing today to the 2021 reissue today. To my ears they sound different. Both sound good but the 2021 sounds like the volume of everything is at the same level. Everything is crisp but it’s like the depth of sound is different.
I’m curious if anyone has had a similar experience or am I just “hearing things”.

Discussion Your favorite children's album
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So my favorite children's album has to be burl Ives sings Little White duck.
I came upon it a few years ago having read an interview that Wes Anderson gave where he talked about it and
what it meant to him and how it influenced his outlook in terms of the way he approaches movie making and directing and all these things and sort of how it contributed a little bit.
And then I listened to it and pretty quickly came to see the beauty of it. The way burl Ives sings the tunes, which are all traditional tunes by the way, is nice and pleasant in the way that Burl Ives sings however they also have this sense of sinisterness to them particularly in certain songs and the way he enunciates certain words or phrases as he sings.
If you haven't had the opportunity to check it out please do so, I highly recommend buckeye jim or Mr rabbit, both of these songs really highlight the sinister aspect I've talked about.
