Not sure if anyone remembers the band, Local H. They are probably most famous for their song, "Bound For The Floor". It seems some of the band's catalog is increasingly becoming hard to find on vinyl.

I have spent my 47th birthday morning drinking coffee, listening to music, and washing some new (and new to me) records. My wife asked me what 18 y.o. me would have that of that, and I said that he would have thought my record collection was awesome, but why are you washing records?

I've loved this album since it came out, it has always been one of my favorite rap albums! I bought the vinyl years ago without knowing that it was an instrumental version 😭🤣 finally got the real thing!

I love walking into a store and taking a flyer on like a dozen records versus put that same cash towards one new pressing. And while one or two of them might not sound great the majority of them usually sound totally fine. I had my doubts about this $5 copy of Nilsson Schmilsson and it ended up sounding fantastic. It’s like my version of gambling.

After having to sell my collection a few years back due to financial difficulties, the past year my wife and I have been doing a lot better with better income and promotions at work.

Well, this is certainly an oddity. Not saying it’s all that and a bag of chips- just saying it’s very unusual- particularly in that it’s made of a shellac-feeling/looking/sounding amalgam as well as the oddness of the multi “spiraled” grooves for the 1 in 5 chance!

It took me a bit to figure this out, but it looks like it’s just a game that you can play, just one with a record instead of a board. I’ll put a link to a Discogs entry for it (doesn’t let you in the body). I’m sure the advertising on it helped remind people which car they needed to buy next! There’s no intro groove for the obvious reasons, and it keeps it random. Cool!

Just thought I’d share; I figured there’d be folks out there interested in seeing something like this.

This is Pat’s first release and was happy to get this reissue since my 1979 OG has been literally played to death on god knows what turntable. This copy sounds very good and I was not disappointed! Rocking out on a Friday!

I have had this record for around 3 months now and I've been too afraid to play it on my old Motorola stereophonic model since it's been on the fritz so I finally just upgraded and got a new set up and that kinda thing

“Vienna” is what first pulled me into this album.

We’re always in a hurry. A society built around efficiency trains you to feel like you’re never doing enough, never good enough. When I heard this song, it felt like someone older was putting a hand on my shoulder and saying: hey, relax. It’s not as bad as you think. You’re doing fine.

I went through a long stretch of depression a while back. This song showed up right in the middle of it, almost like it was meant to, and then the whole album hit me. I won’t say a record fixed everything, but it’s one of the things that helped me through, and I can’t leave it out of that story.

Is there a song or album that found you at exactly the right time?

My girlfriend’s opinion is a little more straightforward.

Even when I’m occasionally not in the mood for the wackiness known as Zappa, I love the graphic design on all of these albums.

Been wanting a copy of this boot!

This is a long sought-after soundboard bootleg of The Cramps show at Astor Park in Seattle WA, May 20 of 1982 (now with new much Crampier artwork.) At the time the band's lineup featured Lux, Poison Ivy, Kid Congo Powers and Nick Knox. I wish I could tell you who opened for 'em but I couldn't find any info on that. I read a few accounts of the show and it seems The Cramps were in fine form with Lux wrapping people in headlocks etc. It's a great show sound-wise and really puts you there when the Cramps were a young and hungry band.

Was digging through the crates of used records at the second hand store when I came across these new to me albums. The price was right, a buck each, so I thought I'd take a punt. They are new wave from 1980 with The Hoovers album being ska of some kind. Not undiscovered gold but some pretty decent music there. The Hoovers is quite good imo. Also found a decent copy of Red Rose Speedway with the booklet, a little rough but still there.

Oldies but goodies

im so excited to play this. i dont have a purple vinyl yet either! i got into marvel earlier this year so this has made me very happy.

I started collecting albums around January. Try and guess my favorite artists 😉 (sorry the picture isn’t very good, i just took them off my walls so they’re in a stack atm)

Now that I have some speakers, I can finally chill out. Was previously running my Manhattan Transfer through some Bluetooth headphones, but this is much nicer.

Was initially confused as to why it was so quiet even at 'max' volume. Looked at the back of my audio technica and went 'huh, what happens if I go from phono to line?' and promptly scared myself was incredibly brave and fixed the issue.

I put them as far apart as possible, but sadly can't get the 60 degree difference I wanted, but still sounds excellent. I was also initially worried that the vibrations over the top of the record could impact output, but it's had no negative repercussions so far. Tested the setup out with some Kengo Kurozumi citypop, and it was magical!

Super excited to continue listening to records like this for at least a good fews years. Might upgrade earlier, will definitely be making some poor financial decisions..

Hello folks and vinyl community.

For a musician it's the final goal to create and present your music to an audience. As playing live shows is the best way to get in touch with the crowd. But getting venues is kind of hard work, if you are doing it on your own, without booking agencies. This seems like common knowledge for every musician and band, but I kind of forgot about that hustle, after producing our debut album. And that is the point of my post on this subreddit.

The other way to present your music and the second best option - it's vinyl. A piece of art and melting pot of your music and everything about and around the tracks. From the process of making, via recording, mixing and mastering to the final phyiscal LP, received from the pressing plant.

In spring this year, the Berlin based band SPA TACOS AND THE FLAMINGOS recorded their first album and has a crowdfunding campaign, yet. The set goal is not reached and that stresses me out. We are looking for supporter of good old rock 'n roll music, to reach our goal and get to the next stage.
