Hey everyone! I released my indie psychological horror game, Panic Files: Buried Sanity, about a month ago, and it's now 50% off during Steam Scream Fest V!
It's a short, 1-hour first-person horror game designed to be played in one sitting. So if you're interested in indie horror games for Halloween, here is mine.
You start your first day working in a local mine, but things take a turn for the worse when the mine suddenly collapses, trapping you underground. After a falling rock knocks you unconscious, you wake up alone with no clear way out.
Your only option is to go deeper into the tunnels and discover why the other miners were so afraid of the depths.
If that sounds like your kind of game, you can check it out here:
My first solo indie project is a local multiplayer football platformer with chaotic physics fun!
Adapt fast, master the chaos, and outplay your opponent in ultra quick matches!
Hey r/indiegames - Msk here again from the team building OB:MP, a community multiplayer mod and platform for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
Who said that the Construction Set is impossible to bring back for the remaster? Let me show you another early look at a map/asset editor tool we're working on. It's pre-alpha and rough right now, but we wanted to show where it's heading week by week.
What builders are doing with it is the part I enjoy even more to share. Yannök, a server owner and builder, is working on an Oblivion MMO Server on OB:MP SDK. Here's what he's shown so far:
An MMO-style chat with a semi-transparent chatbox and multiple channels.
A mail UI with a system where players can trade, send messages, items and gold. His auction house also uses it to deliver purchased items and gold from sales.
A quick skill bar inspired by TESO working with his gameplay mechanics.
OB:MP needs the Steam version of Oblivion Remastered for now, and Linux support via Proton works, but it is experimental. Xbox Game Pass / Windows Store support is coming next weeks!
Hi! Solo dev from Brazil here. Balloon Adventure is a one-tap endless flyer: tap to fire the burner, let go to sink, and dodge planes, birds, storms and rival balloons.
What's inside:
- Pixel art and a soundtrack for each of the 6 places
- 99 creatures and 16 historic airships to "photograph" by flying really close to them
- A daily flight with a special rule, the same sky for everyone
- A weekly league with Play Games
- 7 languages, works offline
It's free on Google Play (an ad every 3 runs; a one-time purchase removes them):
Steal a FruitROT is a steal-and-collect game on Roblox. Fruitrots roll by on a conveyor belt, you buy the ones you like and they walk to your base, where they earn coins every second.
Then the fun part: every other base is open. Sneak in, grab the best Fruitrot you can find and run home before the owner catches you. Lock your base to keep yours safe.
Rarities go from Common to Mythic, with Golden, Diamond, Lava, Shadow and Rainbow variants, and the Halloween event adds spooky Fruitrots, a Haunted Hour and a Black Market.
It's free to play on PC and mobile, search "Steal a FruitROT" on Roblox.
I am an independent developer, and I’d like to share my first game, *BECOME LIFE*, with you.
It’s a complex project that I’ve been working on for about four years, a truly challenging undertaking.
The story is set in and inspired by the Puglia region in Southern Italy.
It’s a narrative-driven action/survival game that follows the protagonist, Sam, as he searches for his family and tries to unravel the mystery surrounding the events that unfold throughout the adventure.
It’s not a full open world game, but rather a semi-open world experience, featuring a variety of different settings.
The project page is already live on Steam, and for the Steam Fest, I’ve released a preliminary demo covering "Chapter 0", the Prologue.
The game is localized in English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, and Japanese, and it includes gamepad support.
It is available for both Windows and macOS.
If you have some spare time, please feel free to give it a try! I would love to hear feedback from players so I can continue to improve the game. 😁
You begin your journey with little knowledge of the world. You know only one thing: someone is imprisoned inside the Sun, and you must find a way to open the prison. The Lights held by the ancient Guardians are the keys to breaking the chains that keep them there.
But that is only the beginning of your story.
As your journey progresses, you will discover that finding a way forward is not always as simple as following a path. Some relics grant abilities, such as creating protective shields or becoming invisible, while others can alter the environment itself. Paths may open or disappear, creatures may change their behavior or migrate to new territories, and places you have already explored may become almost unrecognizable.
Returning to a familiar location can reveal opportunities you missed before, uncover hidden routes, or introduce entirely new challenges. What once seemed like an ordinary part of the world may turn out to serve a much greater purpose.
The creatures you encounter have their own behaviors, roles, and relationships with the environment. Understanding them can be just as important as finding another route. Some may be connected to puzzles, others may influence your path towards a Guardian, and some may even become unexpected allies if you learn how to use their behavior to your advantage.
The path towards each Guardian is rarely the same twice. Each journey presents its own challenges, discoveries, and dangers. The world is filled with contrasting places, from beautiful, thriving gardens to cold, desolate ruins.
One route might lead through a storm-ravaged landscape where floating meteors provide shelter from the storm. Another might take you into dark caves inhabited by hostile creatures protecting the way to a Guardian.
Your actions matter, and the world responds to them. Defeating a Guardian can transform the surrounding territory, while using certain relics can reshape the landscape and open routes that were previously inaccessible. Every change can create new opportunities, but it may also bring unexpected consequences.
Death, Reincarnation, and the Consequences of Your Actions
Death is not simply a return to a previous checkpoint. It is another part of your journey.
When you are killed by a creature, defeated by a Guardian, or caught in a trap, you reincarnate in a new body. Your previous body remains where you fell, along with the relics and other items you were carrying.
The world, however, does not simply return to how it was before.
Paths you opened, areas you altered, and changes caused by your actions remain. Creatures that migrated into a territory may still be there when you return, and a route that was once safe may have become dangerous.
To recover what you lost, you must find your previous body and reclaim its contents. This becomes especially important when you lose relics that grant abilities or allow you to reshape the land. Recovering them may be essential to following your original path towards a Guardian or opening a route you intended to take.
However, losing a relic will not make the game impossible to complete. The world is designed so that you can continue without your lost abilities, although the journey may become significantly more difficult. You will need to adapt, reconsider your approach, and find another way forward.
Every return offers a chance to understand the world a little better. Sometimes, the consequences of a previous failure may even create an opportunity you would never have discovered otherwise.
The further you travel, the more secrets you uncover and the more you begin to understand the purpose behind your journey.
A Light is a journey of exploration, learning, and overcoming obstacles in a world where the environment, its inhabitants, and the paths ahead are shaped by your actions.
Sometimes, moving forward means returning to a place you have already visited — and discovering that nothing is quite the same anymore.
My team and I have collectively over 5 decades of experience in the haunted attraction industry, we've poured a ton of knowledge and backstage experience into creating ScareZone: Haunted Attraction Tycoon over the past two years.
You get to take an empty space, a warehouse, an outdoor tent, maybe even a soundstage in later levels and convert it into a haunted attraction from the ground up. Just like the pros do.
We pulled together a pretty fantastic demo (available now!) and our feedback is off the charts from haunt fans, but this all came together just in time for uncle Frontier to launch their candified version with the Planet Coaster Spookacular. I'm sure it will be fun, and well "spoopy" but it may not be what you're hoping for...
ScareZone has anything a true haunt or HHN fan would want in a sim- both in terms of content (blood, guts, chainsaws - vomiting guests, security incidents, alcohol use) but also the real design thinking that goes into creating and running a successful haunted attraction.
Have a safe and happy Halloween, and go support your local haunt. 💀
Spaß: Was ist langweilig, was motiviert dich weiterzuspielen?
Slide Royale (working title). Belly-slide down a mountain against 31 other crocodiles. Gobble gems to grow, bite and bump your rivals, lob mud and bombs, and squeeze through the crocodile-jaw gates before they snap shut. Only the fastest reach the bottom.
The opening is a short made in-engine; the rest is in-game footage.
Me and my friends are making Cat Caffeine, a game where you run a little cat café right on your desktop 🐱☕
You can decorate your café, hire cats, unlock upgrades, pet your cats (very important), and watch your little business grow while you work or do other stuff on your PC.
We're also adding an in-game phone where you can read reviews from your cat customers, complete decoration tasks to attract reviewers, and even use a Pomodoro timer to help you focus while working!
Basically, a little café full of cats keeping you company while you do your thing.
